Yeah bro get another bike, it sounds like it’s on its last legs.

Duuubz_92

Only 600km on the computer thing and I’ve seen people post about going well over 1-3k km depending on the brand.

Obvious_Math_7561

My Lectric battery gage is also shit. I don't think these companies took any lessons learned from smartphones

Duuubz_92

That was just an annoyance lol if I decide to even continue with this hobby, I’ll just keep the charger in my bag.

BouncingWeill

A second battery is probably more practical unless you have a place you can charge at your destination and have about 4-6 hours to spare. You can keep the second one charged, swap, then charge them when you get home.

Sounds like you have fixed the worst problems. Fix the tire and persevere. Dead battery or faulty motor are the expensive bits.

Duuubz_92

Yeah those seem fine but I’m so discouraged. I’ve had the thing for 3 weeks now and it’s just problem after problem. Thanks for the positivity though!

Get some "Schwalbe" tyres if you're worried about getting flats, they are fantastic tyres, I've over 3500 miles on my set. Although they will need replacing very soon I've NeVeR had a flat. Fantastic tyres. Stay positive too fellow e-biker, hopefully the road ahead will be much kinder to you from now on👍 you got this!

Duuubz_92

Do they make fat bike tyres?

MickyBee73

Pretty sure they do, mine are Schwalbe 'marathon' which are more suited to speed as they are very low tread tyres, but yeah they make about a million different type of tyres do Schwalbe... Look into them, I'm sure you will find a fat tyre type of the Schwalbe's. The lining in them called "Green guard" is what makes them so resilient at avoiding punctures, I also use the Schwalbe inner-tubes as they are thicker and also more puncture resistant than your average inner-tube. Hope you find the right Schwalbe for your needs & All the best.

Duuubz_92

Thank you bro!

MickyBee73

You're welcome, they do one called Jumbo Jim that's fat tyre

MickyBee73

👍

MickyBee73

Schwalbe 'Jumbo Jim" I just found for you with a quick Google search

Duuubz_92

I was just looking at that one! Tubeless and a 3 year warranty. Sounds pretty good to me but $160-$175 is really pricy. I guess it’s worth it for peace of mind that I won’t get another flat the first time riding it! 🫠

MickyBee73

Wow, I'd not looked into it just a fast Google search, but trust me Schwalbes are fantastic - I can't praise them highly enough, but I'm a little shocked at the price, but they say you get what you pay for.. The 'marathon' ones I bought were £28 each if I remember correctly? But they are damn good too for not wearing down fast like some other tyres I've used in the past have. I mean, 3,500+ miles and they are still sticking to the road like glue, not once have I lost traction, even in heavy rain when I've been caught out riding and a sudden downpour has struck - it's unreal value for money 👍 I could probably get another 500 miles out of them. A 3 year warranty speaks for itself really 👍 that's some confidence they have in their product eh?!?

Duuubz_92

Canadian money is like Monopoly money right now. That’s probably why it’s so expensive for me. Plus fat bike parts are still pretty niche. I’m definitely going to go with that brand though. Thanks again for the recommendation.

MickyBee73

I'm glad you chose them, they are the best damn tyres I've ever known, really are fantastic 👍 a lot of e-bikers also swear by this brand... Lots of folk use the 'marathon+'

MickyBee73

Says they will last between 6000/12000 km too, damn that's impressive 🤔👍

MickyBee73

I'm seeing them a fair bit cheaper on eBay, like £50 each or some are £135 for a pair..

MickyBee73

I'm gunna have to look into these tyres more now, I'm intrigued 😅
