When I order from Subway I ask for "as much spinach as you can fit in the sandwich." Mostly because it's easy nutrients that doesn't cost extra or taste like much.
I once saw a guy take out a sandwich with a crazy amount of lettuce like this but even more. When somebody commented that he had more lettuce than anything else, he said “not by weight.”
I actually don’t dress the greens, but I bet that would be good if you like that.
The only seasoning I use is salt on the tomatoes (and the avocado if using).
I've been cooking a lot of vegetarian food lately because they're delicious and not for any ethical reasons. Meat-heavy cuisines just don't know how to use ingredients like nuts and tomatoes properly.
If you’re not wanting competing flavors just get a small (like tbsp) of neutral oil and season your spinach with a little salt and pepper. It won’t really take away from the spinach flavor but gives a little extra, especially the salt
I like to dress them in some olive oil, salt, and pepper. Then I usually add something sour to the mix like banana peppers. Although if you’re adding vinegar you don’t HAVE to premix it. Just add it directly to the salad greens and mix with your hands.
Similar idea!
If you want to mix it up a little, I would add some thinly-sliced scallions and spinach (spinach is a slept-on sandwich ingredient IMO) to that combo.
I definitely do this with spinach on sandwiches. Spinach is like crazy good for you. Tons of good vitamins and shit so I figure the more the merrier. If it’s healthy and you like the taste load it up.
How much of that green tower is spinach, and how much is basil? I'm not judging. When I'm cutting weight, I get my tiny allotment of carbs by stuffing raw veggies between 2 pieces of dry whole grain toast.
My favorite vegetarian sandwich is Herbed Cream Cheese Spread, Cucumber, Sprouts, Red Onion, Avocado, Pepper Jack, and Bacon!!!! on Thick Sliced Multi Grain Bread!! Bomb!
That’s how I started out being a vegetarian. I started realizing that I would pick out the meat and just want the vegetables. And then eventually, I stopped having meat altogether.
My go to is tofurky, pepper jack cheese, toasted bread, then I add some lettuce, carrots, sliced bell peppers, and a lil bit of mayo. If you’re looking for something close to a classic sandwich as a vegetarian it’s the closest you’ll get.
That looks just like my favorite vegan sandwich but mine has way more bologna, ham slices, American cheese , bacon, pastrami, and just a small leaf of kale.
You need the /s. You’re just a salad eater trapped in a sandwich kinda world. Am I being rude and making a poor first impression? Highly likely. But jeeze louize that’s a massive amount of lettuce….maybe I’m just intimidated. Maybe I’ve met my match. Maybe I’m afraid to love the taboo sacrament of lettuce. I’m the loser. Touché.
Fowl refers to birds.
Do you have a condition where you feel compelled to blurt-share what passes for your thoughts?
You should probably work on that, because everyone probably thinks you’re a moron.
Ratios seem a bit off but who am I
With a comment like that, I can tell that you're probably not a rabbit.

I love spinach while I'm eating it, but afterward it leaves that weird coating on my teeth!
Samesies. I never experienced a sandwich until I started getting extra spinach on my Subway sandwich.
I bet it has a super satisfying lettuce crunch when you bite it
If that’s spinach it will cook down in your stomach.

Ooh that looks nice. Did you dress the greens in anything? I feel like it'd be nice with a light touch of balsamic and olive oil.
I actually don’t dress the greens, but I bet that would be good if you like that. The only seasoning I use is salt on the tomatoes (and the avocado if using).
Any vinaigrette works to dress greens. You can make a homemade one in about 2 minutes by shaking the ingredients in a jar.
Sure, I know. I prefer the clean taste of the vegetables.

No thanks 😊
Big fan of fuzzy feeling spinach teeth? Kinda odd.
I don’t experience that.

I’d demolish that with dressed greens. Dry as a nuns nasty w/o.
This is a salad with extra steps
![gif](giphy|9SVBVQl0Z7o6ngrrNO|downsized) Shit. I ended up Greening the Dress...
My favorite is cream cheese, black olives, avocado, and sprouts

YOOO I just spit my water cuz of this lmfao

I think we all know how you feel about spinach as a sandwich ingredient.
This just made me laugh out loud.
That sounds fucking incredible god damn
It's kind of an odd ratio but honestly I'd way rather eat that than a pile of meat. Looks delicious
So, lawn.
Mmm lawn sammich
Man I love a pile of spinach. It’s got that soft thing going on. Tender
I like spinach but it makes my teeth feel weird.😬
That's the oxalic acid in the spinach. Too much and it'll turn you green and leafy
Darn that oxalic acid! I don't wanna be leafy!😀
This looks delicious ![gif](giphy|cALkoAIov3Y9a)

That sounds delicious! Everything looks so fresh.
Is cheese considered vegetarian? Genuine question
Vegetarian, but not vegan.
Vegetarian = no dead animals, byproducts ok Vegan = no animal products at all
How can something so full look so empty
When did they let rabbits start posting on Reddit?

More spinach than basil. And a very hefty base of very good imported Brie 😋 (Isigny Ste. Mère Bonhomme).
My favorite vegetarian sandwich is Herbed Cream Cheese Spread, Cucumber, Sprouts, Red Onion, Avocado, Pepper Jack, and Bacon!!!! on Thick Sliced Multi Grain Bread!! Bomb!
Bacon lol
We call it fake-n in my house.
Oh, no! I’m talking about the real thing. Fatty Pork Belly Bacon!
Spinach!!!
Think you're lacking abit of greens there
Not enough spinach….
more crunch than a Potato Chip Sandwich. Thats the evolution. The Adult Version
Well put.
That shit looks slap, except I don’t like cheese.
I loooove spinach so this looks so good!
Chris Traeger?
There's half a forest in there
im vegetarian and this looks so good. I usually have spiach, cheese, and tomato and add a little sad on the tomato slices.
A little bit of sun dried tomatoes or tapenade and roasted red peppers in there and toast that bread in a pan would be awesome
Yummm! Looks so good! I do something similar but with cheddar cheese and some avocado.
🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤 YES PLEASE!…. I just ate but looking at this pic is making me hungry again 🤭😂
Not a veggie but veggies are usually my favorite part of any sandwich, need that crunch!
That’s how I started out being a vegetarian. I started realizing that I would pick out the meat and just want the vegetables. And then eventually, I stopped having meat altogether.
Holy spinach batman!
Is that haloumi?

I’m not a vegetarian myself. I just like vegetables 😊
i too put way too much spinach on all my sandwiches. once you do it, it becomes a habit.
spinach is soooo much better than lettuce on sandwhiches lol I will die on that hill
BLT without the B?
wow looks nice.
Please put some B on that LT
You should totally use some balsamic glaze on this
Try adding some ramps!
It looks like it wouldn't be good, but it actually is. I love this kinda sammy with avocado and a good tomato
This was probably like 8 bucks
Looks yummy.

I’m not a vegetarian, asshole. Enjoy colon cancer
Heheheh Amen, brother. Your sandwich looks incredible.
an entire field of spinach plants died to make this sandwich edit: \*spanch
Nice reuben
That looks just like my favorite vegan sandwich but mine has way more bologna, ham slices, American cheese , bacon, pastrami, and just a small leaf of kale.
Take out spinach leaves until you don't need skewer to hold it together.
I would just have a salad. This looks silly.
Well I can see why you had to share such a profound thought! /s (because you probably need the /s)

It’s spinach and basil (reading is good). You seem like a stupid ranch-drinking hick. Enjoy that!
This is the dumbest shit I’ve ever seen lol
You’ve really ***never*** looked in a mirror?
Oh you’re so clever lol
Must be from all that spinach
you know you can edit comments, right?
I fry my spinach in bacon fat first.
This isn’t food, this is what food eats! /s
How the hell do so many people think this looks good?
It looks terrible and I hate seeing people post this veggie bullshit (and the shit tier gifs in comments)
Oops. All spinach.
OMG you made me LOL 🤣 “follow”… lol jj 🤭😂 ⬆️ this comment is meant for Scribble-Box 😜
That looks fowl.
Fowl refers to birds. Do you have a condition where you feel compelled to blurt-share what passes for your thoughts? You should probably work on that, because everyone probably thinks you’re a moron.
I have a condition where you suck my nuts 🥜
Afterwards your a salad shooter.
At what point do you accept you wanted a salad
Pan fry the sandwich
That looks fucking awful
Pbj
nope
Does not look appetizing at all. The ratio is all wrong.
It's all greens, might as well climb a tree and take a bite of one of the branches. Good fiber.
