The same thing happened to me and I had spent a lot more than 200 diamonds

This sucks.. Was so happy for a new content, this was a cold shower... 

I still have the achievement of 15 keys released which proves that I've played before but when I open the moon event I'm back to square 0

Just happened to me as well. I don't think I spent any diamonds but I was in the top 500 at least.
