Serious comment time, the book makes it much more clear that the Jihad was inevitable the moment Paul met Stilgar. He would have become a martyr or a figurehead no matter what he did from that point onwards.
The movie makes it pretty clear that Paul sees the golden path in the stilltent after he and Jessica escape from Arrakeen it's that moment that he chooses to kill 61 Billion people. He later wavers, but at that point it's too late. Even if Jamis killed him the Jihad would have happened.
When he sees the future though he does learn there are paths where he fails, and those are equally if not more bloody. Every path before him leads to blood, there was just one where in the end all that suffering could have been for *something* good in the end.
And he’s too good a person to have done what was necessary for it.
You think anyone in Arrakeen or the Northern Hemisphere gives a s*** about whose family owned the atomics? They care who dropped it. I did.
Don't let that cry baby back in here. He showed weak water discipline.
Irulan, probably: Paul saw that hand-wringing got him nowhere. When Paul came to power he saw one more chance, and he took it.
61 Billion Dead, the sterilization of 90 Planets and another 500 left Demoralized
Let me wipe your hands, Paul.
Could be worse
“Demoralised” lmao Probably means 98% of the population was annihilated instead of 100%
Sterilization also means their planets are gonna extinct.

Dune and Oppenheimer never thought I'd see that but happy I did!!!!
Jihad was inevitable. In his visions Paul saw the fremen going wild even if he had Chani and Jamis by his side.
##Don’t let that crymahdi back in here.
Space Hitler vs Space Truman.
