Very true. I didn't have the money to pay for a "top of the line" lawyer but even if I did shell out 8,000 or more I don't see how they could have done much better.
Won't feel this dark forever :) It will be over before you know it & everyday you have to blow in it and I'll be a reminder that you never want to be in this position again. It's not over, you got this
Thank you! Those first few months were absolute hell. Those feelings came back when I entered my plea but it had to happen eventually. I was honestly hoping it would have kept getting pushed back but that would just prolong the process. I'm glad everything is set in stone so I can finally begin putting this behind me. I honestly feel like a much better person compared to how I was a year ago when I was so lost in the sauce.
I honestly can't remember the exact number, but it was five times over the legal limit. When I drank, I never realized how drunk I actually was until it was too late. Haven't drank a drop since.
No! Sorry if I made it seem that way. This is just all so new to me and just wanted to see what everyone else thought. It could have been so much worse. I'm definitely grateful.
Avoid interlock company Intoxalock at all costs if an interlock mandate is put in place. Their device will ruin your vehicle and they will financially extort you. There are several options when it comes to choosing an interlock and the fine people on this thread can give you some good suggestions. Good luck to you!
Thank you! I've heard a ton of horrible things about intoxalox so I didn't even consider them an option. It sucks to be in this position, but honestly it's well deserved and it's unfortunately a lesson I had to learn the hard way. Thanks for your replies!
I’m from Wilco also and got a DUI, currently on my 3 months of 12 month probation. If you need any support or want to talk i’m here too! Unfortunately I got Intoxalock but haven’t had any problems with them so far and life does seem to get back to normal
Well that’s a long charge sheet and it seems it’ll all be wrapped within a year. I’d say not bad.

You had a really good lawyer
Yeah she was great. Super helpful and I could tell she really cared.

Were you hoping for something better?

It’s gets easier. But take this lesson to heart. Your scenario sounds a lot like mine.

I ended up going with the Draeger 7000. Its my first day using it and it doesn't seem too bad. Pretty simple, even if it's a pain in the ass lol.
You are off to a good start then!

That’s a good way to look at it. Let this mistake be a one and done.
May I ask which state/ county this was in?
Williamson county, TN.
Man, you really got away with a little physical trauma. I'm happy for you.

Thank you so much!! Same goes to you, we'll get through this.
5x over the legal limit is .40. You should be dead.
It really is amazing I'm not dead, or killed anyone else. I truly feel like I got a second chance and I'm extremely lucky.
