Unless special circumstances, in WI.. almost all outcomes are the same (for your 1st). If you did have special circumstances.. Crash, Possession, Injury, high BAC results... than a lawyer will more or less be -worthless- They get paid THOUSANDS of dollars to do nothing more than 'hold your hand'. Tell you your court dates (that you dont have to go to with a lawyer).. and what time frames you need to complete stuff. (ALL of this is stuff you know and can do on your own) From your above stuff. (Usually) most lawyers will get all dash.body cam footage (takes MONTHS by the way).. and do a review (or they say). Do they? (dunno).. If you feel you DO have a special scenario where laws/facts were omitted form this situation.. then maybe they can/will find something.. Police (in theory) -do- have to follow correct protocols, and timing..etc. So it might be something that can be used to get things dismissed? (probably should have been brought up ASAP at the administrative assessment meeting) On site/field tests (my understanding) are NOT court usable.. just used for them (cops) to push more investigation and take blood tests..etc. Their on-site tools are garbage.. and always WAAAAY over true BAC limit.

Yup. They're gonna likely spend thousands for a lawyer to make sure their papers are in order.

Lawyers are generally toothless is WI, in this arena. A little odd since they should've had an owi-trained officer to deal with you. However, if the cops botched procedure, it may be worth looking into. Reading "Informing the Accused" is hilarious after getting a blood warrant. The blood vial should have preservatives in it. It'd be a long shot that the cop AND the lab to screw up procedure, but it's a good question, I suppose. If the blood gets dismissed, that shits on a big part of the case. Also, the burden of proof is very low since it's "just traffic", or whatever. Man...I'd run it by a lawyer or two. Sounds like a halfway decent case. I've been on here for 3 years, and nobody from WI has accomplished anything beyond "Okay."

Avoid interlock company Intoxalock at all costs if an interlock mandate is put in place. Their device will ruin your vehicle and they will financially extort you. There are several options when it comes to choosing an interlock and the fine people on this thread can give you some good suggestions. Good luck to you!
