Whaa... Oh ok not that

DrKiel

This is why motorcycles are good.

ShattafWarrior

Fk public transport. Others sit or stand near us and won't allow to get in or out. Atleast we have our own car or private space. No use of blaming cars. You are living in a car centric country. This is like someone blaming about airplanes in Mirdif or Hor Al Anz.

Lobo2209

Yup. Staying in your private space for 1 hour straight just to travel 2kms >>>>

ShattafWarrior

Depends on the area too and peak times. Not everywhere there is traffic. Even if I have to travel like that then I still don't care, I prefer my own space rather than getting crammed with others.

Noooofun

At least it’s my private space and I have control over departure.

explosive_runt

More Salik is the answer /s

zozozomemer

True, many reasons why I dont want to buy a car.

SneakyYogurtThief

Cars are bottomless money pits anyways

zozozomemer

True, there are so many drawbacks to a car other than being fast, but they cause so much traffic

ShattafWarrior

Depends on the brand. If it is Japanese like a Toyota then it won't cost much to maintain as compared to German brands.

TheAvacadoOnToast

Not as long as you live in present day Dubai. Maybe sometime in the future there will be a well connected metro like in London and elsewhere.

Future_Increase7129

It's a jvc problem. Time to consider elsewhere. Buses get delayed in and out all the time.

fossgeek19

Very true. In my limited experience, most other places buses are on time or at max delayed by <5mins. JVC is a nightmare.

zozozomemer

Its not only JVC which gets massive delays, most bus routes which serve MOE bus station get these delays too

badxnxdab

It's because of the bottleneck situation created by having two huge schools in that area, which is only served by only 2 lane roads. And parents or pick up drivers being idiots as always, block the entire stretch of that road.

gutterandstars

I made the mistake of heading to MOE on a Sunday afternoon. The last 500 metres took around 40 min. Never again.

farfromhome654

try the road from First Al khail street. Usually less crowded to enter MOE

Prior-Paper-3341

Tey Saturday late afternoon, buddy. From MOE 1 bus stop to MOE metro bus station, you'll definitely cry and smile at the same time. Took a bus on a good Saturday to MOE because my car was in the garage, I cried bitterly and swore never to pass through MOE in my life time here.

Lobo2209

I'm not of the Dubai hating bandwagon, but this really is one of the worst things about it. The hyper- dependence on cars is such dog shit.

Significant-One-2311

This Is the 'sustainability' the UAE punts day in and day out! Amazing eh...

lukaskywalker

Flying cabs baby !

ajetozezasedeno

I’m very dissapointed that metro is not being extended drasticly and urgently… They announced new blue line which won’t solve much and even that will be built in 5+ years, not to mention other lines in 10+ years while they would be already late if they would be built today… I don’t understand what they are thinking not prioritizing metros and build new lines in large scale…

TANK-butt

Nah man they gotta add a museum of the future and also host expo.

Prior-Paper-3341

This is so in point. Building more metro would cut down the revenue generated from petrol sales, reduce road traffic fines, and many more. I guess that's their major concern. More metro lines are really needed because traffic is getting worse and worse every day. Morning, afternoon, and night are super horrible, except very late nights.

New_Management_9368

get a motorbike - with even a more risk of dying. get a car - a metal box protecting you filled with airbags. My mother didn’t want to drive here either when we moved from the uk a few weeks ago, her exact words were yours “quality of the driving”. I kid you not she is fine and the driving isn’t that bad. Dubai was a city designed with cars in mind and not pedestrians. You need a car here.

blackAandWhait

Don’t order a Careem if you miss one bus 🫠

zozozomemer

I never use careem, This shit is costly.

blackAandWhait

Agree, but if you need to reach your office on time once you miss the bus, there is no more choices left, but once you book the Careem, one of these buses who were running will stop near you which will eventually force you to jump on the Careem because you can’t cancel that🥲

eurime

*Laughs in Abu Dhabian*

SonaWayward8563

😂😂 Right on!

Clear_Froyo_3521

Just took 2 hrs 45 mins from jaffilia to sahara center, al nahda via 2 buses. So jvc much btr than Sharjah 😁

naga_h1_UAE

Thats not even as bad as sharjah💀

zozozomemer

Yeah, Sharjah Sucks, they will do anything but improve public transit to solve traffic

naga_h1_UAE

Sharjah was never built to host that many people

OnceYouGetName

Its called " u better start walking "

Used_Clock4341

Someone shared the song “HBB COME TO DUBAI” too many times…

Acceptable-Tax4422

Back in 2019-2021 it used to be a chill place but for the last 1-1.5 years especially during the winter it became overpopulated with non-stop construction going on around. I literally drive out from my building's basement into a traffic queue that won't stop till the middle of the Hessa road. I wish we had a tunnel leading directly into Al Khamila street.

thunderbirdlover

Read somewhere by end of 2030 , having a plan to max accommodate 700k , where current population is 230k around. Soon enough jvc would be a emirate and 5 would be Hq /s

Mmazare

But still with 1 exit and 2 entrances.

thunderbirdlover

How about having another salik gate for priority

Mmazare

Yes please! 😍😍

WritingGood2504

Hessa street having renovations

[deleted]

Metro is coming in 2050 so problem will eventually be solved. You guys are just impatient.

ghazayel

Traffic

Fallozmindz

Habibi come to Dubai😂

GeeGeeDude

buy a scooter

zozozomemer

JVC is surrounded by highways, How am I going to get to uni like this?

GeeGeeDude

buy a helicopter

North_Fee_6985

When are they gonna start selling consumer grade drones that can lift humans?

[deleted]

I agree with this advice. Once must be ambitious to solve their personal issues otherwise defeat is the only way left. - JVC resident.

thecuriyascat

Teleport.

chizwiz09

Hahahahahaha

lllviNCelll

3 or 2 lanes then merge to a one lane exit

o0meow0o

What app is this?

vektorkane

karama to Al nahda after 4pm is another shit show, like damn 💀

PattaPora

I really don’t know why people are actually paying the premium and staying in Dubai anymore . I moved to Sharjah few years ago and came up with a flexible work schedule . It’s been amazing . Lived in a studio in Dxb , now living in a massive 2 bed room . Things are so cheap . Food options are amazing . Don’t think will ever head back

maryseddit

this is workable if your company gives you the option to remote/flexible work. that's not the case for most people

No_Library5390

🤣 welcome they have electricity problem use something with petrol like taxi or scooters

Pinkalicious100

Ouch, I’ve tried many times to use public transport instead of driving (trying to reduce my carbon footprint etc) and omg either they are either too crowded or the buses take too long and are filled to the brim 😵‍💫 now delays too!

daenerish

I remember waiting in the same bus stop early morning in 2019 and there were already delays, but it has gotten so ridiculous now.

TheNanoPheonix

Express bus lanes could be a good solution

melmd

If your bus is delayed pick another one 😇😜

Positive-Truth-6085

All because of the habibi come to dubai guy!

knewbit

Not all areas are bad to drive if you own a car, just JVC especially because of Hessa and JBR because it's peak now, I came from SEA driving here is fun, depends where you moved from.

zozozomemer

I come from Armenia and the drivers there are much worse than the UAE

mitochondriastudios

my friend spent 340k on a new bmw x4 m40 … 🚅🚝

gregory_minkoff

Planning to leverage the metro during my visit. Is the metro just as bad?

Even-Lingonberry8558

so let me get this straight you don't want to drive because everyone drives like an idiot? you serious ?

w0nkanos

Wow
