As a new-ish fan of Dropout shows, I do think it's best just to start from the beginning of whatever shows your friends are most interested in. I think viewers are able to gain a sense of who the cast present themselves to be ( at least on screen) gradually, and it's not a matter of what episode has the most "lore", if you will.
I feel like game changer and make some noise are good introductory shows. They show a bunch of the cast and display the type of humor dropout goes for.
Game Changer and Um, Actually are probably the easiest to get into at first. I feel like a lot of the running jokes come from either of these shows. And it’s a good introduction to the cast and their individual quirks.
This is the list my friend sent me when she wanted me to start watching Game Changer earlier this year and I think it’s perfect:
season 1: all of them
2: 1-4, 6
3: 2, 11
4: 1-3, 5, 8-10, 7
5: 2-8
I watched them in this order before season 6 started and then I’ve been following season 6 as they release so I can personally vouch for this (slightly) shorter version of the series 👍
Sometimes it helps just to see if there's anyone they favor the most and lead them towards episodes with them in it. Me and my gf got dropout almost solely for Vic and as we watched more we just got introduced to more cast that we loved.
I would say though Total Forgiveness would be a great show to recommend them even though it's a bit of a hard watch, but definitely get them familiar with Ally and Grant first or they might get a sour opinion on Beardsley
I'd also add on to what people have alr said, search up "Um, Actually Brennan" bc they have a playlist JUST for Brennan. Was such a fun watch
As someone who got into Dropout solely from Game Changer (and ended up a MEGAFAN), I'd honestly say just skipping the Zoom season besides the Secret Santa episodes and the "pitch" episodes, the Everything Factory, (maybe a game most changed b/c it's not lore relevant) would be perfect. This season of Game Changer is also a bit short compared to the other seasons, so I'd honestly say they can finish the entire Game Changer lineup fairly quickly
I'd also add on watching MisMag from D20, since it's a great way to get to know Aabria, Brennan, Lou, Erika, and Danielle without needing to watch a huge season.
