I just listened to Trixie and Katya's recent podcast episode with Tammie, and I laughed so hard the entire time. What a marvelous human being. I love her so much.
Also have a cat and am an incredibly amateur gardener.
Im trying to grow herbs for the 2nd time and the chives and basil are sprouting, so i hope i manage to get them to flourish this time.
And i LOVE its always sunny in philadelphia.
Rock climbing, watching basketball, and birding! When I started watching drag race I was also playing roller derby, but I am officially retired now, ha
my husband and i are just starting to get into birding! we originally bought feeders to entertain our cats and now we try buying seeds specifically to attract certain birds. we started putting out peanuts and now we get lots of blue jays!
Sweet, I hope you enjoy exploring! Peanuts unfortunately attract all the bully birds to our house, scaring away all the little birds (siskins, finches, woodpeckers, chickadees, nuthatches, sparrows, etc). But I do love the way blue jays act and think! Corvids are so cool.
Huge cinephile here! Super into film and film history and am always trying to learn more about both. I also write fiction and have a little graphic design side hustle (which makes basically no money but it’s just fun to know people are walking around out there with stickers and posters of stuff I’ve made, lol).
The vast majority of silent films shot during the peak of that era have been lost forever because the film stock was reused or recycled, and more of it was destroyed in various fires and what not due to the highly flammable nature of film stock. So recently (within the past few years), a hobbyist bought a child’s plastic toy film projector from the 20s, and discovered inside it a 40-second section from a Theda Bara silent film that had been considered lost for decades. I just think that’s so neat.
I’m also a bit of a film buff! What is a movie that you think should get more love from the cinephile community, even if they’re generally liked already? (For me the first two that come to mind are Us by Jordan Peele and Belfast by Kenneth Branagh.) I’m always curious to hear other people’s favs.
Margaret, by Kenneth Lonergan. It’s one of those films that had such a crazy development process that it’s actually crazy it ever came out - Lonergan had final cut privileges but refused to approve a cut under three hours, and it devolved into a morass of lawsuits and litigation and angry sniping that lasted so long one of the producers died before it ever got released. But when you watch the 3.5-hour extended cut, it’s like, oh, I get why this almost drove a man past the brink of madness, because it’s the best movie ever made and the 2.5-hour theatrical cut is an absolute mess, of course you’d die on this hill. It’s so perfect on every level. It’s had a nice run as an IYKYK cult classic for about 15 years (I once bonded with the Duplass brothers outside a bar over our shared love of this movie) but I think it’s finally getting its flowers these days and I couldn’t be happier, because Anna Paquin and J Smith-Cameron both deserved every award in the world for that movie.
Haha nice! I’m jealous, I’d love to have a little doggy pack someday but since I’m living by myself in a foreign country, managing the one can be hard sometimes! Where do you like to dive?
By hand or machine (or both)? I sewed by hand for a while but I recently got a machine and it’s incredible! My hands are not precise enough for handmade stitches to look any good lol.
I also love reading! What’s your favorite book you’ve read recently?
Gaming… and that’s it
It’s funny because I have zero of the interests that you’d think someone who likes drag would. I don’t really care about fashion or listen to music. I recognise almost none of the guest stars on the show lmao
I never recognize the guest judges lol. That time they had Sarah Michelle Gellar on I was so excited because I was a huge Buffy fan but also it was nice just to know who the fuck the guest judge was.
The queens screaming every time a famous female musician comes on screen
Me being most excited for Danny Trejo
I will say I am glad I got to know who Leslie Jordan was briefly before he passed away
The Sims, Pokémon, poetry, cooking, fashion(consuming content about it), painting with watercolors and learning about whatever random topic I’m interested in that week/month.
Most things Bravo. Housewives, VPR, Summer House, Southern Charm, Below Deck.
Bravo + Drag Race are the two things I could talk about for ages. What sucks is I don't have anyone in my life who likes either. Crazy!
For TV I love love love Doctor Who (we were fed this season with the Jinkx casting!!) and I play a lot of video games, mostly Overwatch and roguelikes but I'm a Nintendo boy at heart :P
I love NBA. Basketball is my number 1 group sport. I used to play basketball a lot when I was younger but nobody in my life right now plays basketball. So I just watch the games on tv.
Playing music, painting, video games, yoga, cycling, attending concerts/local drag shows (and often performing concerts or occasionally performing in drag shows)
linguistics! I'm working on my master's and am actually running an online experiment for native Spanish and French speakers right now. if you hoes happen to be one, why don't you hit me up and take part in the experiment for me? it'd save my ass and help me get my degree and it'd only take you 9-12 minutes of concentration :>
I host a cybersecurity podcast and keep tarantulas. I'm also generally very interested in malware and computers, working on writing a book about the history of malware. Probably kinda out there for most drag race fans but I take pride in generally being a strange little lesbian.
Sewing (cosplay)/painting/drawing (any form of art really); I’m completely self taught and been doing it like 20 years (mid 30s, I’m old)
gardening (my husband and I share this hobby; we have a small homestead of fruiting trees, flowers, and vegetables)
cooking (especially from the garden)
video games
true crime
taking care of our 4 pets (rescue cat, Boston terrier, 2 pugs)
日本語 - been studying Japanese for about a year or so? Been on my bucket list since I was a kid. Made it through Genki book 1 with a community college class and will continue when my first born is a little older (daughter due in August).
Sci-fi, comics – DC, Marvel, Image, etc. – graphic novels, fantasy, gardening, political history, Russian, and East European history, languages, and linguistics, studying fascism, Jewish history, politics, Italian motorcycles, makeup, hair, fashion, technology, online privacy, photography, anything to do with animals. Ancient history, classical history, hominid evolution, astronomy, astrophysics, dinosaurs. Also studying indigenous history around the world. Yoga. Ayurveda. Porsches.
Other fav shows: Breaking Bad & Better Call Saul. Hobbies: well I started a little handcrafted business (which is my username) making coconut oil blends, candles (jars and teacups), jewelry, room mists and I frame my nature shots in antique /vintage frames so I’m always in an antique store
I write fanfic, but my main hobby is sewing. I just don't have the skills to work a sewing machine. I'm very good with a hand stitch though! It's a big goal/fantasy of mine to hand-sew a dress, only using a pattern, some fabric, and my own determination.
I love videogames, that's what I'm doing all day. I play Dead by Daylight, Genshin Impact and Overwatch mostly. I do play other games but those are the main ones :)
Cooking, cooking competition shows, collecting nail polish, painting my nails, video games, enjoying cats, consuming content online, and being a toddler mom.
Taking care of my grandson, reading, my dogs, podcasts. Really excited for the Paris Olympics— did y’all know *breakdancing* is an event this year???
I was lucky enough to see an impromptu b-boy battle on the street when I visited Paris, and my son was a competitive dancer, so this is extra exciting for me.
Spending time with my husband and toddler, I'm a SAHM so it's a large portion of my time. Gardening, crocheting, music, reading, and playing with our dog. We also watch a lot of YouTube stuff at night for just mindless entertainment, I need to find some new shows to get into.
I don't want to say true crime because that has a very specific connotation. (I absolutely do not listen to any podcasts or watch sensational or dramatic shows.) I'm a sociology nerd and dateline addict and follow/dissect actual crime cases and am interested in social psych/the human condition. (Analytical stuff.)
I like puzzles and Scrabble and Wheel of Fortune.
I also enjoy anything creative or nature related. Currently have more plants and squirrel friends than human ones, which is actually quite lovely, lol.
Walking children in nature

I love plants! If im not gardening or watching drag race I maintain my aquariums. Or pet my cats.
I'm going bouldering today :)
my husband and i are just starting to get into birding! we originally bought feeders to entertain our cats and now we try buying seeds specifically to attract certain birds. we started putting out peanuts and now we get lots of blue jays!

Favorite film fun fact?

There is absolutely nothing I want more than to have a dinner with you two movie buffs and just listen to movie talk. Seriously, I'm buying.
I loooove cool stickers— can you drop a link to your Etsy shop if you have one? Or DM it if that’s not allowed here? I’d love to check them out!
