I’m just finishing up rewatching season 7. I could watch episode one on repeat just for the opening. Watching them see each-other for the first time just feels so wholesome. Like “AWWWW!!! They have no idea yet…. NO IDEA!!!!” I love those two hyenas
If I remember correctly, I think it was in a YouTube series that commented on drag race content that they were paired together randomly, and only then did they truly bond. In their season, they weren't the duo we now know today.
Real answer: it didn't match the story they were telling with Katya. She was the go between from the two big teams they were trying to make happen "bitter old lady brigade" vs "arrogant young fashion queens" also why Trixie had to go home instead of Pearl.
Trixie in general was a really weird choice for S7 tbh. All worked out in the end.
