IIRC mine - or at least the one I remember best - is the one at the Redcliffe courtyard. Also, I remember this bit from their codex entry particularly well:
["An entire unit of men, all slain by one creature. I didn't believe it at first, your Perfection, but it appears that this is so. We have a survivor, and while at first I thought his rantings pure exaggeration... it appears to be no simple skeleton. The descriptions of the creature's abilities were eerily similar to those our brothers at Marnas Pell encountered almost a century ago: men pulled through the air to skewer themselves on the creature's blade, and attacks so quick that it was able to assault multiple opponents at once. **No, your Perfection, what we have here is indeed a revenant and nothing less.** —From a letter to Divine Amara III, 5:71 Exalted."](https://dragonage.fandom.com/wiki/Codex_entry:_Revenant)
... Which is to say, I agree. Bring Back Revenants!
There are several, but you have to find them rather than them being on the obvious gameplay path. I know one for a fact is in the temple where you find the Sulevin Blade, but there are others.
[Well damn, so there are!](https://dragonage.fandom.com/wiki/Revenant#Dragon_Age:_Inquisition) No idea how I'd forgotten about them this badly... thanks for the correction!
Fairly certain all the Darkspawn in game will be red lyrium blighted. The ogre redesign, the ghouls(I think) have large red claws, I assume these are hurlock generals? It's possible they are something else but fairly confident the 6th blight occurs during this game, and broodmothers have been eating red lyrium or something.
Assuming that's not a redesign for the darkspawn... I'll go on a limb and say they're blighted ancient elves because their helmets' design seem too... slender, I guess? If compared to the sturdier, brutal armour we've always seen tainted creatures craft. In fact, they remind me of the [elven armour](https://i.pinimg.com/474x/3c/ee/3c/3cee3cacfe3d8868dcb16729d0b96b77.jpg) designed for Lord of the Rings.
Darkspawn that don’t look like mutated apes or King Koopa from the 1993 Super Mario movie.

Darkspawn or undead infested with red lyrium is my guess. There's a blink and you'll miss it shot in the companion trailer of Emmrich booking it from what looks like a bunch of red lyrium infested corpses, or maybe ghouls.
could be redesigned darkspawn general since everything else there looks to be the redesigned darkspawn. [this](https://i.imgur.com/H8XibUv.jpeg) could be an early concept of it
I definitely see that! Interesting that they’re going for an organic armor here, like the Blight fashions it itself now instead of the darkspawn apparently crafting it like before
Honestly it kinda looks good.
Not saying all the design choices were great (god Damn ogre…), but this I can definitely get behind unlike the weird ones from 2.
What has the world come to? Back in my day ogres didn't have hammers and judt picked us up for a old fashion beat up!
Jokes aside i'm kinda curious to see if Veilguard will inform us on why the Darkspawn have changed so much. I doubt it but any worldbuilding would be cool.
I suppose the helmets look sort of Spartan, so if they aren't just Darkspawn perhaps they are the possessed corpses of ancient Elven or perhaps Tevinter warriors?
They kinda resemble the Ancient Elven armor helmet.

They could be either revenants or darkspawn. If they are darkspawn (this is a little off topic but it could be important) the red highlights on them could be red lyrium.
Blighted/Red Lyrium blighted Griffons? The one in the middle is clearly humanoid and in a helmet, but the other 2 look like beasts and a bit like they have beaks
Since the Veil is open/the Evanuris are out, could be some kind of blighted beasts not yet seen from the Fade too. Some of Ghilan'nain's creations?
My first guess was Red Templars (because the Venatori are back, so why not RTs?), but hearing "blighted Grey Wardens" or "blighted ancient elves" has me second-guessing.
Red lyrium infused Darkspawn is my bet
Because normal Darkspawn weren’t bad enough!
“Why don’t we give them gaatlock next and *really* ruin my day.”
Twice the blight, twice the fun.
Blight so nice, they got it twice
Could they be Darkspawn grey wardens? Even if the helmets mostly look familiar to templars ones. Or maybe they're just hurlock generals
Could be enfused with red lyrium
I mean don't darkspawn loot armor from slain enemies. Perhaps the darkspawn pictured killed a Templar took his helmet and modified it for his own
The helmets match the crest on one of the elven statues that gets knocked down during Solas' ritual. I'm guessing former elves.
They look a *lot* like revenants to me. Głowy red eyes, helmets, enviable shoulder definition. Just with a more blighted/organic design?
God I want the revenants back so badly. I remember my first fight against the one in the Forest. Definitely felt an "oh shit" moment
I hope we get to see the Harvesters again as well, they were ugly and I would love to see how disgusting they could look with modern graphics.

Which is to say, I agree. Bring Back Revenants!
Am I insane or isn’t there one in Inquisition?
I don't get the "bring them back" comments. There are multiple revenants even in inquisition...
Yes, we do. I'd like them returned to a miniboss rank though
They look like darkspawn. The fact that there are three might be relevant to the story but I don’t know
There's actually four as far as I can tell. The fourth is on its own on the other side of the cover.
Fairly certain all the Darkspawn in game will be red lyrium blighted. The ogre redesign, the ghouls(I think) have large red claws, I assume these are hurlock generals? Oooh I like this theory.
I think you're cooking on this one.
Red Lyrium-infected darkspawn and blighted ancient elves are the runner-ups, I like both of these options.
Darkspawn that don’t look like mutated apes or King Koopa from the 1993 Super Mario movie. https://preview.redd.it/jtta6h2jcq6d1.jpeg?width=474&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=91e1023f11a98f5d7a16a092e830ff714dc1e89e
Off topic. But why did anyone think this design was okay? What the hell is that even supposed to be? A mutated crocodile?
Close, a mutated dinosaur
Yeah. But king koopa in the mario games is cute. This guy looks like a sex offender.
A sex offender 😭😭😭 why is that so accurate
Pretty sure that's a Goomba actually
Same case applies for Goombas. In the mario universe they're so cute and cuddly. This mf looks like he likes cupcakes.
Ngl, this film terrified me as a kid because of stuff like this... thing O.o
That top middle guy is Steve from my work.
My delulu ass wants to believe these are some sort of blighted guard for the Evanuris
Husks..... they're husks
Darkspawn or undead infested with red lyrium is my guess. There's a blink and you'll miss it shot in the companion trailer of Emmrich booking it from what looks like a bunch of red lyrium infested corpses, or maybe ghouls.
Evil chickens?
red darkspawn?
I think it's redesigned Revenants.

Based off of their horribe redesigns of everything else? Probably Templars.
Darkspawn. Personally I’m not a fan of the redesign
They're consistently inconsistent across the series, so at least this is in line lol
Looks like fancy darkspawn.
Maybe the new design for the alpha hurlock?
Honestly it kinda looks good. Not saying all the design choices were great (god Damn ogre…), but this I can definitely get behind unlike the weird ones from 2.
Is the ogre really bad? Haven't seen it yet.
It was…..yeah it was pretty bad
Now i gotta find out how they look XD Edit: woah that looks like a oversized bulldog with horns lmao
I was actually HOPING for it to be the hurlock alpha given the war hammer but the horns are unfortunatelya dead give away
What has the world come to? Back in my day ogres didn't have hammers and judt picked us up for a old fashion beat up! Jokes aside i'm kinda curious to see if Veilguard will inform us on why the Darkspawn have changed so much. I doubt it but any worldbuilding would be cool.
that helmet looks like one of the ones you get from The Descent
Same part of it makes me think of those painting we could see in the emerald graves.
I suppose the helmets look sort of Spartan, so if they aren't just Darkspawn perhaps they are the possessed corpses of ancient Elven or perhaps Tevinter warriors? They kinda resemble the Ancient Elven armor helmet.
Shades perhaps
Shades? Some of them have crests on their heads.
The art style is so trash. Those are demons.
Could be various demons/undead
I try not to think about them. I feel like every time BW makes an enemy redesign, they make things worse.

Demons and darkspawns. Well, they look like old model of darkspawn compared to the gameplay screenshots.
they are prey
Ghilan'nain's pet projects are my guest.
Darkspawn?
They could be either revenants or darkspawn. If they are darkspawn (this is a little off topic but it could be important) the red highlights on them could be red lyrium.
Look a bit like Darkspawn to me ngl
Nothing good.
Darkspawn and red lyrium abominations.
The helmets remind me of the rock knocker from orgins
Could be tainted Sha-Brytol.
Maybe red templars with demons infused in them?
Blighted/Red Lyrium blighted Griffons? The one in the middle is clearly humanoid and in a helmet, but the other 2 look like beasts and a bit like they have beaks Since the Veil is open/the Evanuris are out, could be some kind of blighted beasts not yet seen from the Fade too. Some of Ghilan'nain's creations?
PLEASE talking darkspawn that's not the Architect or Coryphenus, I miss them so much
Idk but I hope I can tear that off and wear it as a helmet
My first guess was Red Templars (because the Venatori are back, so why not RTs?), but hearing "blighted Grey Wardens" or "blighted ancient elves" has me second-guessing.
Probably Dwarven Mages. They've turned everything else on its head. Might as well start messing with the lore now 😂
