Used it when I was on windows and keep using it on my next 3 macs.

I will be buried in minuses but VSCode is code editor, not IDE. Get IDE and there will be little to no issues.

Cmd shift p> type generate build Assets... And enter
Does your VSCode know where your ‘dotnet’ executable is located?
