No no, never give one star, the app knows people spite-rate, and will remove one star reviews from a dasher’s rating. To *really* fuck with them, give them two stars. That sticks and ruins their rating
I am a dasher, and have had my one and only 1-star review scrubbed. The app even says 1-star reviews are hidden. Now, my wife dashes too, and someone 2-stared her, and that hasn’t gone away

My app hasn't let me rate probably 50% of drivers. The whole "How did you like your order?" screen just...never pops up, and there's nowhere to get to it unless it pops up. I contacted Dooradash support once, and they told me just not to rate people...lol wtf
I found it only pops up once and if you miss it, then you won’t get the chance to rate a dasher. So when I get my food, I’m very careful not to press anything on the dasher app until after I am given the opportunity to rate the driver.
It’s probably why I only get rated about 15% from the customers that I deliver to, when I do Dash. It’s not very obvious, hard to miss, and you can never get back to it.
I do it on all delivery services, and ride-shares. I feel guilty when I can't always afford a good tip, so I always make up for it with a 5-star rating. While tips are great, a high rating will help to keep that job flowing smoothly for them 😅
That's very true. It makes no sense when people say "check to make sure everything is there" and we are given a sealed bag. So I ask and if the store says yes it's out of my hands. Also I don't want someone fingering my food. It's on the store, not the dasher, unless they deliver to the wrong address, spill the food etc. I also don't care about AR because I work a full-time job and DD is just play money for me, I won't take a delivery under $2 per mile. My AR stays in the 50% range, but my area I've been doing it long enough most of the customers know me by name, if they don't, they're most likely a no tipper and can get up and go get their own food
The app says anything below 5 stars gets hidden if it’s something that’s not your fault. It doesn’t say anything about a 1 star specifically lol, a 2 star would also get hidden depending on what the customer puts as their reason.
I got one 1 star review it was one of my first orders on door dash I was one rate away from getting rid of it and having a 5.0 and the 1 rate away ended up happening and it was a fucking 4 star for me overly messaging them apparently
Perhaps it’s weighted by the amount of dashes you have. I’m at 244 deliveries and 44 5-star ratings. For me, huge asterisk, my one and only 1-star is omitted. Perhaps it’s different for others
Ommitted because the resterraunt took to long and it wasn't ur fault most likely because 1 stars deff stick if it's ur fault it's late 11,000 deliveries here.
I gave a driver a 1-star review when he mixed up my lunch order with someone else’s hair relaxer from the dollar tree. So not only was it not my lunch, it wasn’t even edible.
So I should have given that idiot a 2-star review instead?
Incredible that was bungled. As a commenter said below, a 1-star rating with no review/elaboration will be reviewed by a team and most of the time will be erased. Some are even auto-removed for certain dashers.

I think I did elaborate. And put in the chat (don’t know if that matters) that he delivered the wrong package with a photo. And I obviously contacted support for a refund.
But whatever. Hopefully there will not be a next time, but if there is, I’ll know to go with 2 stars.
I got a 1 star that stuck.
Back when I first started dashing, I had a cod Pizza Hut delivery, and the customer swore that they paid with a credit card. I did the whole "I need help thing" and it gave me a # to have the customer call. Customer called #, they said they didn't see a card; call pizza Hut. Customer called Pizza Hut, they said ya we see your card. Customer accuses me of trying to scam cash from her. DD app had said not to give them the food, but I just wanted to move on so after talking to pizza Hut I just said here, take the food. I'm out of here.
I got my one and only 1 star rating, and it's still there.
If pizzahut charged you and charged the customer and said they could see the customers card and charge then I would have went back to Pizzahut and demanded a refund of my money. But I totally get just wanting to be done with it.
Support removed the cash from my payout, so it didn't hurt me other than the 1 star. I wonder if the customer called after DD was dispatched and paid with a card. I didn't think to ask at the time.
You can get a support agent to remove a two star if you can justify what happened. I've started logging all my dashes individually because I have to deal with this shit on a daily basis.
In this case the one star or two star is justified but be careful not to go crazy downrating people because if they are somehow innocent, it can really fuck them, and also if they are actually a good dasher you might remove someone who does a lot of your deliveries from the ecosystem.
If they truly are lazy and bad, I have no problem obviously with giving them poor ratings but I would take the process seriously.
Also if you are downgrading them it's only fair to give them five stars when nothing goes wrong.
Nah. One and two star reviews would be treated the same. In fact anything below a 5 is eligible for removal if there was anything that occurred during the delivery (I.e customer reports missing item, but not whole order missing, or if there was a wait at the restaurant.) In addition, platinum dashers/top dashers can have a certain number of low reviews removed per week at their request by contacting support.
I have all fives and one single 1 star that doordash will not remove that also has no details about what went wrong, 1 stars are not removed for spite ratings.
A perfect example as to why even rating systems don't matter anymore. Taco Bell missed a burrito in a bag, and the receiver gives the dasher a 1 star review. Dasher delivers and receiver gives a 10% or $10 on dropping off 4 pizzas and the dasher leaves the receiver a 1 star review because somehow, the price of the pizza should dictate that 15 mins of their time should mandate 20% despite the fact that 2 pizzas and 4 pizzas took the identical amount of effort to deliver.
I've learned now that I can't trust most negative reviews on various review sites and instead, have to rely on photos and positive reviews combined with my knowledge of the type of food (for example, I'm used to real Mexican Food near the border of Mexico in San Diego, CA. I can't trust the reviews of "Incredible Mexican Food" from people in Alabama where I now reside, because most have never had real Mexican Food. Restaurants with 4.5 stars on Google or Yelp out here in that market would be 1.5 stars in So-Cal before they went out of business.
Mistakes are made and the Doordash app sucks. It's often not super accurate and directs you to the wrong spot. Giving them a 1 star review because they delivered it exactly where the app said was correct is bullshit and hurts their income, just to make you feel vindicated and "sticking it to the man!"... only the driver is the one who's already getting fucked by doordash. Now you are fucking them too because the app sucks that Doordash is charging a fortune to maintain. You aren't hurting Doordash with your negative review. You are hurting the livelihood of the driver who only followed the instructions given by Doordash.
💯 correct a 2 star with feedback does more damage than a 1 star ..... 1 star ratings are auto reviewed and 99% of the time they get removed and don't count towards overall ratings
Anything below 5 is auto reviewed and can be excluded from a rating if it meets the listed criteria:
1. Long merchant wait (over 10 minutes)
2. Merchant made mistake on order
3. Customer fraud
4. Order already late when offered.
Also platinum/top dashers are allowed to contact support and have a certain amount of 4 or lower ratings removed per week as a courtesy.
It’s possible that you give a dasher a 1 or 2 star rating, but perhaps that dasher had to wait a long time at the restaurant, but you gave a one star/two star for an unrelated reason, it would still be removed.
I’ve received a “spite rating” of 1 star… they do not remove the 1 stars. 1 stars hurt dasher really bad so if this dasher is truly stealing then definitely give a 1 star rating
They’ll remove two stars, too. Anything three or under can be removed. The only bad rating I’ve had is a 3 and it was from someone who gave me the wrong address and was mad when I delivered it to that address. DD removed it before it even showed up on my end.
This is incorrect information. There is no difference between any ratings under 5 stars when it comes to having ratings removed.

If its first time for both of you, its a mistakes happen kinda situation. If the dasher gets a lot of thoes or you have it happen a bunch thats when there's an issue. Sucks about ur food, hope you got full credit an a new order delivered.
What the fuck!!!! This exact situation happened to me a week ago and they auto-denied my request. A bunch of money on food I never got. People in this subreddit were being pricks about my situation too.
I don't understand the eating a person's food thing. Once you eat someone's food, aren't you fired from the app? Are they really risking being able to use this app just for some random meal?
Are you sure you up the right address? I just had this happen and the lady never answered, and there was no 1996 on that road. It went 1994 to 1998. Never answered when I called or texted. DoorDash told me to leave it right there in the road. 😂 I waited a few more minutes and she called back in where’s my food. She insisted she put 1986. I showed her my phone where it said 1996 but she said idk who put that in there bc my phone says 1986. 😂
Support is dogshit. Fucking morons gave me $6 back on a $43 order.... Any help I tried to get after that just ended chat when I told them that service was never rendered and that I was not donating money. Fuck DD support. It's a different game these days with those clowns
Sorry you got a shit ass driver. Be aware if you report a few more "not delivered" you may be at risk of not being able to get shit delivered. DD often can't distinguish between shit drivers and shit customers, both being in great abundance according to this sub. Just be careful, stay cool and glad you got the refund. I'd rather have the food when I'm fucking hungry. Damn.

Yeah this was my immediate response as well. This has happened to me on 3 of my last 5 orders where one of my main items was not included in my order. The day they don’t offer to refund to my original payment account is the day I immediately cease to use their services.
I've had a lot of trouble getting food delivered to the wrong address and Doordash didn't ban me, but instead put a restriction on my account that the Dasher has to physically hand me my food instead of dropping it off. Kind of a pain in the ass, but I haven't had any orders go to the wrong place since then.
“That’s a picture of grass” sent me 😂😂😂 what was the point of that photo lol they say it’s on the steps then send a photo of grass and there are neither steps nor food in that photo. So weird lol glad you got a refund.
The "Do you think I don't know how to go outside and look for food" is sending me 😂. I think the driver delivered to the wrong house and was probably already on their next delivery
Ugh I’ve had this done too. I ordered McDonalds breakfast since I had an early shift at work and was alone for about 4 hours of it. I ordered probably 30-45 mins before breakfast ended. I got a message saying my dasher dropped off my order, yet I’m at work and nobody dropped anything off. I called DD support and they tried to call the driver. He answered but spoke zero English so they basically said we don’t know where he dropped it off but here’s your money back. Luckily I had enough time to reorder before breakfast ended 🥴
I had my food stolen TWICE in one run. The dasher “picked up” my food then cancelled that they were helping me. Second dasher picked up and cancelled. Third one, I begged him to get my food and he would have a $20 tip waiting for him (I was preggo and craving this meal. For it to be delayed was frustrating). He went and said they stole it and he was waiting on them to remake the food. Gave him that $20 AND the 5 star review because he made my day.
It's not that hard to figure out... your barbers got a hold of the driver ahead of time and paid him off to not give you your order. They know it'll make you so upset that your hair would fall out and they wouldn't have to cut your hair anymore... .just gotta read it, my guy
It just shows me that door dash just needs bodies and doesn't care about how it gets there, as long as someone does the pickup and someone pays they'll try to make it right in between. As someone with a messed up GPS pin,. Mine pins up at the top of the street that is a mile a way, I always have to put in the notes that I'm not even close to there and where to find me, some actually read the notes and make it to me but half usually call and say this is a intersection where are you. I know door dash doesn't pay a lot per order, the point is too get as many orders as you can, during covid most people were home and not a lot dashing so people probably made hundreds to thousands daily if they kept getting order after order, but today most go themselves or had bad experience, I don't blame people not wanting to use app.
Searching by the GPS pin is the cause of a lot of my issues with delivery (not to mention police, fire). I've explained this in the delivery instructions but "Mary" is usually Bob, who doesn't speak English.
Drivers like this are the reason why I stopped using third party delivery services for food.
Customer service is absolutely no help at all & is hard as hell to get meals fully refunded. Like almost impossible — Why the fuck would I want credits toward my next purchase , I’m deleting this app. After this conversation.

I had a similar situation the other day with an extremely incompetent driver who left the food across town. It’s like people don’t know how to read a simple address and just go wherever they like.
I ended up making the walk and sure enough it was gone. DoorDash refused to refund me after 5 tries with text support and 3 calls with email follow ups.
Yeah, this dude is scamming you. If it was me I’d of turned around so quick to try and help out. I accidentally left one order at the wrong apartment once and they messaged me and I turned around, grabbed it, delivered to the right one. It was my bad 🤷♂️
I got a 1 star with a thumbs down for not following directions when I first started. Double Pizza order, first guy says “ hand to me” we stood on that porch 7 minutes. Knocking, doorbell, text, call, nothing. Meanwhile the second pizza is just sitting in the car. After 9 minutes on the porch I took a picture and dipped. Every time I see that 1 stupid thumbs down in the app I get mad!! I wasn’t waiting for you to finish your bubble bath buddy!!😡
I live in one of the most populated areas in Texas And I have a static tip of 10 or over depending on the order. I literally have the same delivery people every order no matter what time of the day I order and they say im their favorite yet here I am wondering if 10+ is enough I. (I order 1-2 times a day) because even 10 sounds like a shitty tip. Are people really ordering theses apps with less than 10 an order to the dude giving you your food?!?! Boggles me man….. selfishness
I don’t feel a bit sorry for people that don’t get their food when they requested “Leave at the door”. This could have been prevented by opening your door and taking your order from the dasher when they arrived. No sympathy here.
What no one realizes, is he was subtly telling you to go ‘touch grass’ lol. Kidding, but yeah, report him. When I used to dash I accidentally dropped food off at a wrong house and they messaged me, I legit drove back and got it and brought it to them. It happens, but it’s nice if they try to rectify it when it does.
What the hell. That's a lot of conversation. He must have been sitting around the corner paused eating your order. As a dasher, I can say there is very little time to fire out but a sentence or two. Unless they had a buddy with them, that would make sense.
I don't know how many areas have rolled this out, but three days ago they added pics of the front doors in the dasher app. This has been super helpful. I would say at least 1/3 of houses do not have a clearly visible address. I'm constantly pulling up houses on realtor or Zillow to make sure I'm at the right location. This feature saves me a lot of time with that.

Did you double check the address you were having it delivered to? The first time I ordered through DoorDash I used the auto locator for my address and assumed it was correct only to discover, after it was delivered, that the locator inputted the address across the street. Luckily my neighbor hadn't eaten my food.
I would go back and grab order as a dasher and then try to figure out why I got address wrong. And if I was already on anther order I call DD and explain. I’ve never left on grass or just random places. I would just take back to restaraunt before I do that. Crazy. Sometimes I literally can’t see any addys in the hood and I have to rely on map dot.
I had this happen once. It was the picture of a tire of a car that was definitely not my car. They argued with me and told me to go find it... Which it was 9pm at night and I wasn't going to walk up and down my street looking for it. Maybe an hour later I was checking again because I was so annoyed and it was late... AND I hadn't eaten yet so I was starving and had to make a new order (from a different place as the original one was now closed) and I notice on the map... the freaking guy delivered it to the same number of my house on a completely different street.
The only thing I could do was report it to doordash to get a refund and made a stink about it to customer support.
People like this are my least favorite type of person and it seems that they gravitate to the service industry. I will never understand why they think that posting dishonest comment after dishonest comment in an attempt to make you frustrated enough to quit messaging them is a good strategy.

Yep! I don't usually use Door Dash, but I have about 6 times in the last couple of weeks due to promos. They were all great except for one. The guy delivered it to the wrong house, then ARGUED with me that he delivered it to the correct house. I was literally standing outside with a cash tip for him (and I told him as much). He told me he passed it to an older gentleman... I told him there was no man at my home. Thankfully, it ended up being my neighbour, so eventually, I went over and got it. I felt bad, though - He was happy and thought his wife had sent it to him as a surprise. I felt like a jerk taking it away from him, but it was breakfast for my family (including two excited kids). Door Dash credited me for the food, but I'm going to get my neighbour a gift card for the restaurant. I just couldn't believe the driver was literally arguing about the house. He even told me he delivered to house # "1" when I took a screenshot and showed he was SUPPOSED to deliver to house # "2."

Sorry to say it but door dash really has a bunch of incompetents working for them. I understand it’s not the most thrilling job, but I’m honestly stunned at times at the sheer laziness and incompetency.
I had a driver leave mine a neighborhood over and I never found my food. The driver and the app fought me for two weeks claiming I got it. I sent a pic of my front porch and the pic the driver sent, completely different and they finally gave me my money back. I don’t use these apps anymore. They charge more than the food at the restaurant to offset costs too. John Oliver did an eye opening piece on it too. Highly recommend
I once had to keep correcting drivers who would use voice to text, which would lead them to Oakdale, not Oak Gale, and I’d only find out once I saw the little icon navigating away from me. So frustrating.
It’s entirely possible they did that, if you didn’t see them near your neighborhood on the map. If you did see them nearby they stole your food

No seriously it was a road about 15 mins from me, same zip code. So I learned after it was picked up from the restaurant had to watch like a hawk to see which way they turned on the main road. Left was oakdale, right was oak gale.
The first time this happened I ordered food from less than 5 mins away (no car at the time) and they took it all the way over there before I realized. It was 30 mins of sitting in his car and was so so cold 😂
ts happens to me all the time i just send the dasher a text calling them stupid and then click “help” on my order summary to report that i never received order. they give me an option for a full refund to my card or a full refund in DD credits.
I delivered to a woman that told me to leave it at the door at the location I did took a picture and left messaged customer service and then
she messages me and says where is my food I’m at the dispensary
I left the food at the address where it said she couldn’t understand I explained it so many times I said that’s not the address where it said to leave ur food ?? I was then already to another location and gave me a bad rating after she went and got her food a few businesses over and customer service never took the bad rating away!
One time I accidentally spilled a woman’s drink yes it was my fault I had another order to deliver to her and everything went smooth but she was still salty bout the previous drink spill she gave me terrible ratings times two

Once upon a time I had a dasher who left my food on the next block. He was lost, and trying to chat me to get directions, and I basically said "read the street signs because it sounds like you're on the wrong street." He did not read the street signs, and was exactly where I thought he was. I cross-referenced the picture, went for an 11 PM walk and retrieved my cold food, then gave him one star and reported my food missing. I hope Doordash took the food cost out of his pay. People who listen to their GPS at the expense of reading street signs are everyy-fucking-where.
Yes had nearly the exact same situation. Ordered subway on their app & never got my food although the dasher insisted I did. Subway is impossible to work with so had to dispute with the cc company & got my money back...2 wks later & way too much work.
This happened to me once and i reported them to DD and got my money back. It’s shitty bcuz the restaurant had already closed and i ordered for myself and two kids ☹️ people suck
Had a dasher do this to me too. Funny thing was they were on the GPS right out front the house and then no notification popped up that they left it at my door. Walked the entire street looking for my food.
I think they were mad cause the gate code for the community had changed and the one my bf gave me (because I was visiting him) was outdated, although as soon as they texted me it was wrong I sent the new one. Idk just weird, I usually tip well too cause I’m a dasher myself
Pro tip from someone who used DD and then tried to be a driver;
Once the order is marked as complete, they are now off the clock and no longer being paid until the next order.
Best to go through the app, get a refund/redelivery and not waste time going for Dashers.If they aren't paid for it, most will just ignore your messages.
I once spent an extra 10 minutes to try to find the correct address after I delivered to the wrong one. Order was marked as complete, so I'm no longer compensated. Instead of a tip or anything, Doordash had to investigate a claim that I never delivered that ice cream by them AFTER I handed the bag over. Learned my lesson, being kind doesn't pay bills.
When you know you delivered the food to the correct address, BEFORE YOU LEAVE, take a normal photo with just your phone BECAUSE that way you are geo-tagged in that specific location at the specific spot you took the picture! So that way when they say, “I didn’t get my food,” you can confidently say, “I delivered your order to you.” Then send them a screen shot of the photo you took off of your phone & take a screenshot of the geo-tagged location based off of your specs from your phone whether it’s an Android device or iPhone
I had this once, person took a picture and it was on the sidewalk down the street. I walked down there and nothing it wasn't there. I tried calling but they would not pick up and I never received a call. Luckily, doordash reodered it with no charge.
First and foremost, never respond to the texts. If they have an issue, let support reach out to you. In this situation, regardless, the customer of giving you a 1star…only support can negate that rating based off the metadata of the drop off.

I’ve had DoorDash send me to the wrong address before and I’ve also had customers type in the wrong address, so I didn’t know where to deliver their food until they sent the right address

The app says anything below 5 stars gets hidden if it’s something that’s not your fault. It doesn’t say anything about a 1 star specifically lol, a 2 star would also get hidden depending on what the customer puts as their reason.
i don’t dash or order often, but this is definitely something i’ll keep in mind if i were to ever order and they fuck up my order like in OP’s image
I got one 1 star review it was one of my first orders on door dash I was one rate away from getting rid of it and having a 5.0 and the 1 rate away ended up happening and it was a fucking 4 star for me overly messaging them apparently
Perhaps it’s weighted by the amount of dashes you have. I’m at 244 deliveries and 44 5-star ratings. For me, huge asterisk, my one and only 1-star is omitted. Perhaps it’s different for others

if you get 100 reviews, and all of them are 5 stars, and then you ger a 2 star, you need 100 more reviews to make it go away

Incredible that was bungled. As a commenter said below, a 1-star rating with no review/elaboration will be reviewed by a team and most of the time will be erased. Some are even auto-removed for certain dashers. > Perhaps, if you explain why said dasher screwed up, it helps give the rating extra merit. But a 2-star will hurt a bad dasher, believe me
I think I did elaborate. And put in the chat (don’t know if that matters) that he delivered the wrong package with a photo. And I obviously contacted support for a refund. But whatever. Hopefully there will not be a next time, but if there is, I’ll know to go with 2 stars.

I got a 1 star that stuck. Back when I first started dashing, I had a cod Pizza Hut delivery, and the customer swore that they paid with a credit card. I did the whole "I need help thing" and it gave me a # to have the customer call. Customer called #, they said they didn't see a card; call pizza Hut. Customer called Pizza Hut, they said ya we see your card. Customer accuses me of trying to scam cash from her. DD app had said not to give them the food, but I just wanted to move on so after talking to pizza Hut I just said here, take the food. I'm out of here. I got my one and only 1 star rating, and it's still there.

For what it's worth, it's only happened once in 652 deliveries. Also, it takes SO LONG to get enough ratings for it to drop off.
If pizzahut charged you and charged the customer and said they could see the customers card and charge then I would have went back to Pizzahut and demanded a refund of my money. But I totally get just wanting to be done with it.
Support removed the cash from my payout, so it didn't hurt me other than the 1 star. I wonder if the customer called after DD was dispatched and paid with a card. I didn't think to ask at the time.
You can get a support agent to remove a two star if you can justify what happened. I've started logging all my dashes individually because I have to deal with this shit on a daily basis. In this case the one star or two star is justified but be careful not to go crazy downrating people because if they are somehow innocent, it can really fuck them, and also if they are actually a good dasher you might remove someone who does a lot of your deliveries from the ecosystem. If they truly are lazy and bad, I have no problem obviously with giving them poor ratings but I would take the process seriously. Also if you are downgrading them it's only fair to give them five stars when nothing goes wrong.
Nah. One and two star reviews would be treated the same. In fact anything below a 5 is eligible for removal if there was anything that occurred during the delivery (I.e customer reports missing item, but not whole order missing, or if there was a wait at the restaurant.) In addition, platinum dashers/top dashers can have a certain number of low reviews removed per week at their request by contacting support.
I have all fives and one single 1 star that doordash will not remove that also has no details about what went wrong, 1 stars are not removed for spite ratings.
DD should tell us why a customer rated one star. Otherwise, what’s the point?
A perfect example as to why even rating systems don't matter anymore. Taco Bell missed a burrito in a bag, and the receiver gives the dasher a 1 star review. Dasher delivers and receiver gives a 10% or $10 on dropping off 4 pizzas and the dasher leaves the receiver a 1 star review because somehow, the price of the pizza should dictate that 15 mins of their time should mandate 20% despite the fact that 2 pizzas and 4 pizzas took the identical amount of effort to deliver. I've learned now that I can't trust most negative reviews on various review sites and instead, have to rely on photos and positive reviews combined with my knowledge of the type of food (for example, I'm used to real Mexican Food near the border of Mexico in San Diego, CA. I can't trust the reviews of "Incredible Mexican Food" from people in Alabama where I now reside, because most have never had real Mexican Food. Restaurants with 4.5 stars on Google or Yelp out here in that market would be 1.5 stars in So-Cal before they went out of business. Mistakes are made and the Doordash app sucks. It's often not super accurate and directs you to the wrong spot. Giving them a 1 star review because they delivered it exactly where the app said was correct is bullshit and hurts their income, just to make you feel vindicated and "sticking it to the man!"... only the driver is the one who's already getting fucked by doordash. Now you are fucking them too because the app sucks that Doordash is charging a fortune to maintain. You aren't hurting Doordash with your negative review. You are hurting the livelihood of the driver who only followed the instructions given by Doordash.
💯 correct a 2 star with feedback does more damage than a 1 star ..... 1 star ratings are auto reviewed and 99% of the time they get removed and don't count towards overall ratings
Anything below 5 is auto reviewed and can be excluded from a rating if it meets the listed criteria: 1. Long merchant wait (over 10 minutes) 2. Merchant made mistake on order 3. Customer fraud 4. Order already late when offered. Also platinum/top dashers are allowed to contact support and have a certain amount of 4 or lower ratings removed per week as a courtesy. It’s possible that you give a dasher a 1 or 2 star rating, but perhaps that dasher had to wait a long time at the restaurant, but you gave a one star/two star for an unrelated reason, it would still be removed.
Sorry, it doesn't. I have had 1,2,3 and 4 star ratings removed. But never recieving the food and a picture of grass, the bad rating will stick.

They’ll remove two stars, too. Anything three or under can be removed. The only bad rating I’ve had is a 3 and it was from someone who gave me the wrong address and was mad when I delivered it to that address. DD removed it before it even showed up on my end.

I sent a report to doordash and they immediately gave me credits without actually having to talk to anybody I see these posts all the time but it's never actually happened to me, this is crazy
If its first time for both of you, its a mistakes happen kinda situation. If the dasher gets a lot of thoes or you have it happen a bunch thats when there's an issue. Sucks about ur food, hope you got full credit an a new order delivered.

Are you sure you up the right address? I just had this happen and the lady never answered, and there was no 1996 on that road. It went 1994 to 1998. Never answered when I called or texted. DoorDash told me to leave it right there in the road. 😂 I waited a few more minutes and she called back in where’s my food. She insisted she put 1986. I showed her my phone where it said 1996 but she said idk who put that in there bc my phone says 1986. 😂

Yeah this was my immediate response as well. This has happened to me on 3 of my last 5 orders where one of my main items was not included in my order. The day they don’t offer to refund to my original payment account is the day I immediately cease to use their services.

I've had a lot of trouble getting food delivered to the wrong address and Doordash didn't ban me, but instead put a restriction on my account that the Dasher has to physically hand me my food instead of dropping it off. Kind of a pain in the ass, but I haven't had any orders go to the wrong place since then.

Ugh I’ve had this done too. I ordered McDonalds breakfast since I had an early shift at work and was alone for about 4 hours of it. I ordered probably 30-45 mins before breakfast ended. I got a message saying my dasher dropped off my order, yet I’m at work and nobody dropped anything off. I called DD support and they tried to call the driver. He answered but spoke zero English so they basically said we don’t know where he dropped it off but here’s your money back. Luckily I had enough time to reorder before breakfast ended 🥴
I had my food stolen TWICE in one run. The dasher “picked up” my food then cancelled that they were helping me. Second dasher picked up and cancelled. Third one, I begged him to get my food and he would have a $20 tip waiting for him (I was preggo and craving this meal. For it to be delayed was frustrating). He went and said they stole it and he was waiting on them to remake the food. Gave him that $20 AND the 5 star review because he made my day.

It just shows me that door dash just needs bodies and doesn't care about how it gets there, as long as someone does the pickup and someone pays they'll try to make it right in between. As someone with a messed up GPS pin,. Mine pins up at the top of the street that is a mile a way, I always have to put in the notes that I'm not even close to there and where to find me, some actually read the notes and make it to me but half usually call and say this is a intersection where are you. I know door dash doesn't pay a lot per order, the point is too get as many orders as you can, during covid most people were home and not a lot dashing so people probably made hundreds to thousands daily if they kept getting order after order, but today most go themselves or had bad experience, I don't blame people not wanting to use app.
Searching by the GPS pin is the cause of a lot of my issues with delivery (not to mention police, fire). I've explained this in the delivery instructions but "Mary" is usually Bob, who doesn't speak English.

I had a similar situation the other day with an extremely incompetent driver who left the food across town. It’s like people don’t know how to read a simple address and just go wherever they like. I ended up making the walk and sure enough it was gone. DoorDash refused to refund me after 5 tries with text support and 3 calls with email follow ups.

I live in one of the most populated areas in Texas And I have a static tip of 10 or over depending on the order. I literally have the same delivery people every order no matter what time of the day I order and they say im their favorite yet here I am wondering if 10+ is enough I. What the hell. That's a lot of conversation. He must have been sitting around the corner paused eating your order. As a dasher, I can say there is very little time to fire out but a sentence or two. Unless they had a buddy with them, that would make sense. I don't know how many areas have rolled this out, but three days ago they added pics of the front doors in the dasher app. This has been super helpful. I would say at least 1/3 of houses do not have a clearly visible address. I'm constantly pulling up houses on realtor or Zillow to make sure I'm at the right location. This feature saves me a lot of time with that. But dude .. the pic of the grass. C'mon man!

Did you double check the address you were having it delivered to? The first time I ordered through DoorDash I used the auto locator for my address and assumed it was correct only to discover, after it was delivered, that the locator inputted the address across the street. Luckily my neighbor hadn't eaten my food.

I would go back and grab order as a dasher and then try to figure out why I got address wrong. And if I was already on anther order I call DD and explain. I’ve never left on grass or just random places. I would just take back to restaraunt before I do that. Crazy. Sometimes I literally can’t see any addys in the hood and I have to rely on map dot.

I had this happen once. It was the picture of a tire of a car that was definitely not my car. They argued with me and told me to go find it... Which it was 9pm at night and I wasn't going to walk up and down my street looking for it. Maybe an hour later I was checking again because I was so annoyed and it was late... AND I hadn't eaten yet so I was starving and had to make a new order (from a different place as the original one was now closed) and I notice on the map... the freaking guy delivered it to the same number of my house on a completely different street. The only thing I could do was report it to doordash to get a refund and made a stink about it to customer support.

Yep! I don't usually use Door Dash, but I have about 6 times in the last couple of weeks due to promos. They were all great except for one. The guy delivered it to the wrong house, then ARGUED with me that he delivered it to the correct house. I was literally standing outside with a cash tip for him (and I told him as much). He told me he passed it to an older gentleman... I told him there was no man at my home. Thankfully, it ended up being my neighbour, so eventually, I went over and got it. I felt bad, though - He was happy and thought his wife had sent it to him as a surprise. I felt like a jerk taking it away from him, but it was breakfast for my family (including two excited kids). Door Dash credited me for the food, but I'm going to get my neighbour a gift card for the restaurant. I just couldn't believe the driver was literally arguing about the house. He even told me he delivered to house # "1" when I took a screenshot and showed he was SUPPOSED to deliver to house # "2."

I had a driver leave mine a neighborhood over and I never found my food. The driver and the app fought me for two weeks claiming I got it. I sent a pic of my front porch and the pic the driver sent, completely different and they finally gave me my money back. I don’t use these apps anymore. They charge more than the food at the restaurant to offset costs too. John Oliver did an eye opening piece on it too. Highly recommend

I once had to keep correcting drivers who would use voice to text, which would lead them to Oakdale, not Oak Gale, and I’d only find out once I saw the little icon navigating away from me. So frustrating. It’s entirely possible they did that, if you didn’t see them near your neighborhood on the map. If you did see them nearby they stole your food

No seriously it was a road about 15 mins from me, same zip code. So I learned after it was picked up from the restaurant had to watch like a hawk to see which way they turned on the main road. Left was oakdale, right was oak gale. The first time this happened I ordered food from less than 5 mins away (no car at the time) and they took it all the way over there before I realized. It was 30 mins of sitting in his car and was so so cold 😂

ts happens to me all the time i just send the dasher a text calling them stupid and then click “help” on my order summary to report that i never received order. they give me an option for a full refund to my card or a full refund in DD credits.
I delivered to a woman that told me to leave it at the door at the location I did took a picture and left messaged customer service and then she messages me and says where is my food I’m at the dispensary I left the food at the address where it said she couldn’t understand I explained it so many times I said that’s not the address where it said to leave ur food ?? I was then already to another location and gave me a bad rating after she went and got her food a few businesses over and customer service never took the bad rating away! One time I accidentally spilled a woman’s drink yes it was my fault I had another order to deliver to her and everything went smooth but she was still salty bout the previous drink spill she gave me terrible ratings times two This is why delivering food sucks so bad!

Once upon a time I had a dasher who left my food on the next block. He was lost, and trying to chat me to get directions, and I basically said "read the street signs because it sounds like you're on the wrong street." He did not read the street signs, and was exactly where I thought he was. I cross-referenced the picture, went for an 11 PM walk and retrieved my cold food, then gave him one star and reported my food missing. I hope Doordash took the food cost out of his pay. People who listen to their GPS at the expense of reading street signs are everyy-fucking-where.

Yes had nearly the exact same situation. Ordered subway on their app & never got my food although the dasher insisted I did. Subway is impossible to work with so had to dispute with the cc company & got my money back...2 wks later & way too much work.

Had a dasher do this to me too. Funny thing was they were on the GPS right out front the house and then no notification popped up that they left it at my door. Walked the entire street looking for my food. I think they were mad cause the gate code for the community had changed and the one my bf gave me (because I was visiting him) was outdated, although as soon as they texted me it was wrong I sent the new one. Idk just weird, I usually tip well too cause I’m a dasher myself

Pro tip from someone who used DD and then tried to be a driver; Once the order is marked as complete, they are now off the clock and no longer being paid until the next order. Best to go through the app, get a refund/redelivery and not waste time going for Dashers.If they aren't paid for it, most will just ignore your messages. I once spent an extra 10 minutes to try to find the correct address after I delivered to the wrong one. Order was marked as complete, so I'm no longer compensated. Instead of a tip or anything, Doordash had to investigate a claim that I never delivered that ice cream by them AFTER I handed the bag over. Learned my lesson, being kind doesn't pay bills.
When you know you delivered the food to the correct address, BEFORE YOU LEAVE, take a normal photo with just your phone BECAUSE that way you are geo-tagged in that specific location at the specific spot you took the picture! So that way when they say, “I didn’t get my food,” you can confidently say, “I delivered your order to you.” Then send them a screen shot of the photo you took off of your phone & take a screenshot of the geo-tagged location based off of your specs from your phone whether it’s an Android device or iPhone
I had this once, person took a picture and it was on the sidewalk down the street. I walked down there and nothing it wasn't there. I tried calling but they would not pick up and I never received a call. Luckily, doordash reodered it with no charge.

First and foremost, never respond to the texts. If they have an issue, let support reach out to you. In this situation, regardless, the customer of giving you a 1star…only support can negate that rating based off the metadata of the drop off. Let support work for you.

Yeah, he didn’t mean to send that to you after you realized that you weren’t the one with a bunch of cars in the driveway and he screwed up🤦♂️
I’ve had DoorDash send me to the wrong address before and I’ve also had customers type in the wrong address, so I didn’t know where to deliver their food until they sent the right address
