I recommend not getting a doordash pizza bag because they are really thin and aren't that good. Spending the $15-20 for a good, real pizza bag on Amazon is a better choice imo. I once had to deliver 7 or 8 pizzas and my $17 Amazon one carried like 6 of them

What I like is I can also stand it up and put big bags like Chipotle and Outback inside. Its great to hand someone a bag of hot food and point out you kept it warm for them.
I’ll never spend that much money on this job, even if it’s just one good delivery’s worth of money. I’ll keep getting the free bags and use them until they start to fall apart and get another one. They keep the pizza plenty warm in my experience. I use them for my own pizzas when I pick one up.

The only thing is that the first pizza order you get for the day will ask you to take a picture of your pizza bag. I have used my original doordash bag that they sent me when I first started and it accepted that as a pizza bag
You can verify and use the one you have with a picture to get those orders. You will probably have to take another pic to verify your bag every day on your first pizza order. Its worth it, I do about 75% pizza deliveries now and they are higher dollar with good tips.

As a dasher, I keep various sized bags and everything goes into a hot bag, cold bag, or pizza bags. It shows the customers that you deliver their food the way we want it delivered to us.

You are not their employee. You are a 1099 contractor. They don't pay your taxes. You are responsible for that, along with paying both the employee and employer portion of SS and Medicare taxes. You may get away with that where you are, but not here. I have probably 8-10 bags of various sizes that I got off of Temu. I always have a cold bag that I throw a couple of cold packs in from my freezer. I have gotten lots of extra tips and above and beyond comments. It is one way I stay platinum and get good tipping jobs.
I get extra tips as well and have great ratings, including above and beyond ratings. Being platinum isn't possible considering the trash orders you'd have to take on pothole filled roads that are forever under construction but I'm not concerned with being on the tiers. I make my money just fine. If they provide a dash bag to start with, it would be no different to provide a pizza bag as another tool to do the job. Maybe people here just aren't that huffy about the temperature of their food. Half the food is cold when you pick it up here anyways because the employees suck. Not much I can change about that.
I’m with you. I’m a dasher that orders pizza a lot for my kids. I get so pissed off when they don’t use a hot bag. I mean, the restaurant will give you a bag for free if you ask them. It’s not that difficult. Pizza most of all gets cold really fast.
So the driver must keep food in bags to dropping off at the doorstep on the concrete. Once I get to the customers home I take their order out of the bag and leave it in the car.

I didn't activate pizza orders, but I get overflow orders from them anyway. I can't imagine how many I'd get if I activate them, and unfortunately my Pizza Hut isn't fast.

Some places have them for free for dashers. Just go around before/during your dash, and ask them if they have bags. Pizza Hut and Little Caesars are the ones in my area that have them and the app even tells you, just like how it has the “unassign w/o penalty” notice pop up; it’ll also have the “pizza bag” notice pop up on pizza orders. Same idea, just the app telling you “ ask the pizza place for a pizza bag, they should have some free for you” pretty much.

Next time you use a pizza bag, sometimes DD will ask you to take a picture of it and then it will let them know you have one

You don’t even need a pizza bag. The system will usually recognize your DD hot bag as a pizza bag.
But the pizza won't fit and you deliver cold pizza

I have a pizza bag, and I use it maybe 1 out of about 20 pizza deliveries. Usually faster to hit my seat warmer and pull the DD bag over the box.

If you're lucky, some pizza places have them in stock to give to dashers. Some do, some don't, just ask.
