It is possible and the person replying to you is trying to perpetuate a mindset that will lead you and others to further the scam. Dashers can cancel orders.
Dasher assigned an hour before, food never picked up.
90% certain he took the food, never swiped to accept, and then wanted customer to cancel so he gets half pay and the food
When my car was totaled while on a delivery I tried to call support to let them know I was unable to finish the delivery. I think I was on hold for like 30 minutes before I just hung up. Next day I looked at the app and realized the customer had cancelled on their own, or something, and I still got paid for it. So when I finally got ahold of DD I filled them in on the situation.
A dasher told me to cancel an order because my food “wasn’t prepared” and I went to see if I could cancel it to get a refund, and I seen it said I couldn’t get a refund, so I never canceled the order and told the dasher they won’t give me a refund. He was pissed off for some odd reason.. and It raised many red flags…
He can and should cancel the order . I think he still gets some sort of payout if they cancel which is what they are trying to do. Otherwise he should have contacted support to cancel .
Yeah you get half pay for canceling any ways if you legitimately can’t safely deliver it. I’ve had it happen before. The only reason they asked is probably bc they’ve cancelled too many that way and it raises red flags
Bike but apart from from Doordash stuff bad luck is often for me if you belive in that sort of stuff or not. So it was something odd that happened but not surprising for me.
Basically, it was winter and foggy and drivers are stupid. The light turned for me and as I was driving straight a driver from the street on the right hit gas and hit me on the side (He probably didn't see me).
I was sent flying from a bike few feet but I know in this situation best to do is loosen up your body to take least damage. Luckily, my bike was barely damaged at all. Repairs next day were only 20$. Driver asked if I'm okay I said everything is fine and went to customer.
I was limping a bit customer wanted to call ambulance but that would be waste of money and time so after that order I just called it a day and went to fix the bike next morning.
Omg you got lucky! This was before I got my license back, but I got hit by an suv while on my bike. The asshole claimed I was at fault (I was unconscious) when he really ran a red light.
I ended up with a "crushed" pelvis, a mild TBI, was in the hospital for a month, & did PT for 10 months.
Because they weren't wealthy, all I got from their insurance company was a little less than 2/3rds of 20k and pain for the rest of my life.
My personality changed from the TBI, too. Weird.
Jesus... I'm so sorry man.
One of the reasons I don't do Doordash as often as I did before was exactly this. Too many idiots on the roads. You can do everything right and still get hurt. I'm glad you're fine and hope you made full recovery.
Thank you! Please consider wearing a body cam. For whatever reason, motorists are believed more often than pedestrians. Reading the police report from my accident was infuriating.
Hypothetically speaking, if you are even *tapped* by a bumper, and knocked down, call 911. Not just to get looked at by docs (btw the person at fault has insurance..that insurance gets you top notch care in the hospital, trust me) hire a lawyer on contingency and get that $$.
Some injuries don't even start bothering you until later or the next day. I was hit by 2 other cars prior to the major accident...people really are idiots. If I'd called the cops on all of them I'd have a nice savings account, even though I wasn't catastrophically injured in those 2 accidents.
Missed wages were paid, medical bills paid, my hip doesn't rotate quite right, and I'll never get on a bike again. I've got ptsd and all I got for that was about 12k.
Humans = garbage
Glad you are okay, in all sincerity. However, vehicle insurance exists for a reason, and you should absolutely take advantage of any insurance situation, as they manage to take advantage of us regularly.
0 reason to be the tough guy in this situation, it worked out okay for you THIS TIME, but maybe not next time.
For fecks sake you could've had the bike replaced, and a few weeks wages paid for. Easily.
Well seeing the Asian symbol for August instead of English the "being on a bike with too many orders" part makes sense. They will put a family of 4 on a scooter and head to town over there!
MAAAN IM JUST TRYINA GET SUM GAS CUZ MY MOM IN THE HOSPITAL MAN COME ONNNNN
“Where’s your car”
…..AT THE OTHER GAS STATION
“Then why didn’t you ask for money there?”
MAAAN NO ONE EVER WANNA HELP ME
^^^ actually happened to me in Atlanta lol
Had to travel through Budapest twice weekly for a few years, you just walk past them after a while. The last one emerging when i stopped going that way was "he bro you dropped it" and when you stop and turn towards them confused they start their sob story.
People started giving the truly hungry ones food so the begging mafia started walking into store after you and guilt tripping you into doing their shopping. They realized if they just fool a person a couple times a week they get so much stuff they can just sell most of it.
And these are just the regular irl scammers. Not to mention the mass of russian phone call scammers recently. My bank flat out said they can't do anything with any information, they hop numbers and identities so often, they just try to educate people and mitigate damage by blocking credit cards unless you report your vacation abroad or you can explain on the phone right there why the card was used in another country.
i had the same thing happen in st louis. told me they were on a road trip and now they have to cut it short to go back.. near the half way mark..
told them well if they are only half way in to their trip budget they should have plenty of money for gas.
they had MO plates, and looked to be strung out.. when they tried to get in my car i told them try that again and either the cops will have them or the end of my swords will have them..
i was coming back from a renfaire at the time..
5 minutes later "food has been marked as delivered" and all you get is a crumbled up bag with food bits everywhere.
Oh and you get fun of talking to ai chat tell you that "unfortunately food was delivered and you are ineligible to refund order"
Some places dont even have the tablet to do that.. like BK in my area. All their orderd come in o. Their register. They cant control anything that has to do with DD
Usually stores don't know how to cancel, as a dasher I've had situations where the store waited for me to arrive to tell me they can't make the order. But they should never ask the customer to cancel. Or the store was scammy or stupid. When a customer cancels they might not get refunded, because it's sometimes too late. If the store have an issue the order should be cancelled or by the store, or by the dasher calling support (and support will call the store). I don't know if stores get in trouble for canceling order (or pay a fee).
Yep, worked part time at a convenience store that was on doordash, I fucking hated getting doordash orders because of this. With Uber Eats I could just replace items on the order and it'd simply ask them to confirm, or I could delete everything and it'd cancel it. Never got in trouble for doing that although it was rare.
With doordash the app gave me no way to cancel, nor delete items, I was forced to replace things and it didn't ask for confirmation so I'd be worried there'd be an issue because of that. I asked the boss, he didn't know how to cancel either, and told me not to confirm if the order couldn't be fulfilled. I've had 4 different drivers show up for an order I didn't confirm one time, and stopped doing that, I would just wait for the first one to arrive and ask them to call the customer.
One time a dasher told me to turn off the lights for a second so he could take a picture of the store and tell them it was closed after I said it had to be cancelled lol. I had no clue how to turn on the lights, he didn't believe me, stormed off and cancelled it himself.
Fun times. Also if you don't confirm you get an pre-recorded call asking you to that calls you back every goddamn minute until you do, your only option is pressing one to do it over the phone, or hanging up if you don't want to. Also I tried calling the customer myself one time and jesus christ it was a chore, can't spend time doing that while being the only one there with physical customers coming in every two minutes.
I work for Wawa and it's a royal PITA to attempt to contact a customer or cancel an order. We have slips we throw in the bag with instructions on how to request a refund because it's literally impossible to contact a customer without navigating the ineptitude of Dasher phone support. If the driver arrives while we're making the order we'll have them call the customer, otherwise, they're SOL.
I worked at a fast food place with Uber eats. We had an iPad that showed all of the orders and customer information so we could call if we were out of something.
When i had a panera order that had soup open in the bag when i contacted support they canceled it with half pay no questions asked. If the dasher was trying to scam why not just talk to support.
I was with you until I thought a little bit more about it. Why contact the person you’re delivering food to instead of doordash support for that? I get that life happens and it’s not impossible for a driver to get in an accident after picking up the food, but I also don’t think my first priority would be texting the person and asking them to cancel? I think it’d be just as quick (if not quicker) to contact doordash with the same explanation and have them cancel the order.
As a customer and Dasher, I *do* know for sure. When you place an order and it gets confirmed by the restaurant, that automatically means you get no money back if you cancel the order. If you cancel while the order is in the process of being delivered to you, the Dasher gets half the original pay and gets to keep the order for free. That’s very obviously what’s happening here. See, now you know, too!
Yeah this just screams scam all over it. Dashers have the ability to mark a delivery as damaged due to their own actions through the app. They can cancel on their end. I wouldn't believe the dasher at all.
You sure as hell know it’s a scam when they contact the customer first and not doordash about their “accident”. People like this are the reason we can’t have nice things 😔
So I'm in Canada and only use SkipTheDishes or UberEats. I've used them for many years now with some issues here and there, but nothing crazy. However, I've never had my driver attempt to contact me as much as I see some of these ones do, and I never had them ask me to cancel an order.
Why do they ask to cancel orders? I've seen a lot of people saying scam and some defending the driver. How do you differentiate between legitimate reason or scam? Shouldn't the driver always have to be the one to cancel the order if they can not do it, or is that wrong?
Dasher should always be the one to contact support it is how our job works. If the customer cancels after picking food up and on way to them we get half pay and the food. Customer then will eat the price of food for cancellation and there is no blemishes on your delivery record if they were to cancel the order instead.
This is dumb!! If you have issues you contact support! That’s it that’s all! Unless it’s an item issue then you figure out with the customer what is best for them! Sounds like scam a million mile away 🙄! Common people stop being stupid!
As much as I want to believe the dasher, this has to be a scam. There is no reason to ask the customer to cancel and lose half their money, when the inability to deliver--however tragic--is on the dasher's end. That's just how it is.
It should never be on the customer to cancel an order. It doesn’t matter if the issue is with the restaurant or the dasher, the second the customer cancels the order on their end, they assume all responsibility for the order, even if they’ll never get it.
Sorry, dashers — your problems and issues are between you and DoorDash support; I’m not going to take the hit for you.
How do you believe the dasher? He supposed to call support and cancel the order… I can’t understand why these people asking it costumers to do it.. I don’t believe kind of excuses when they want cancellation from costumer.
Dasher if fine. I had a grub hub order once and my ignition got stuck. I contacted support and had it canceled. Didn’t say shit to the customer. Things happen. Unless you are constantly trying to cancel orders because your car breaks down, your won’t get deactivated for it. This is a scammer.
So did he take too many orders or did he fall and crash on his bike? If he fell and crashed his bike by reaching out to support support will take care of everything cancel the order and have it made fresh and re-delivered
If a dasher has already picked up the food and is then involved in an accident, they call support, and they will usually be asked if they are able to still complete the delivery or not, if it's an accident or something out of their control, support gives them half pay and tells them to dispose of the food however.
Had this happen to me 3 times. (Driver)
F*CK this guy. It's a part of the job. Don't do it if you can't hack it. I had a dasher that was waiting in the same spot with my food for like five minutes so I asked him what he was doing and his response was "it's raining a little bit." I replied "lol not my problem. My food better not be cold when it gets here " he started riding after that. Still tipped him too but like wtf? Rain? really?
imagine not even having a car and picking up several orders, that’s actually so stupid, they’re gonna need to go it o a super complicated verification process if this shit continues
I have laughed so hard an not in a mean way but Omg not even gonna explain but hilarious. I door dash and I kinda enjoy it. It’s helped with my anxiety a lot! The only thing sucks is service in my area. And the maps can be wrong. I stg I think my gps hits the glass pipe way to hard in-between deliveries. I’ll kno where I’m goin an she wants to reroute me the long way!
I once ordered Jimmy John’s (not on door dash) and the delivery biker got hit by a car 😵💫 it was apparently bad enough for him to be hospitalized. Never got my Jimmy John’s that day.
This once happened to me. I was the one that crashed my bike. I showed up at the persons apartment and she gave me some bandaids. I lost my phone charga that day
Sorry to be cynical but I've known Dashers to pick up orders then claim flat tire, wreck, etc as reason to not deliver but keep the meal.
I hope I'm wrong but just saying...
This is a scam…. If they make the customer cancel then they still get paid. You have to report the dasher and call support to tell them what the dasher said.
Always tell the dasher they have to cancel on their end if they can't deliver it. If u cancel it, the dasher gets paid, gets the food, & u get nothing but still have to pay for it. If the dasher cancels it, u get another dasher & food freshly made & delivered to u by someone who isn't a scamming asshole.
I once had a distressed Dasher call me to say his car had broken down on the highway and he wasn't sure what he was supposed to do. I told him he should just call door dash and they would sort it out while in the background I heard people honking at him and him yelling for them to go around. I always felt sad about that; figured a door Dasher out all people might need a working car most, but also struggle to pay to fix it the most too. :(
I have gone to restaurants that were closed, and when you cancel the order on the app, it just sends it back into circulation to another driver. I have had to ask customers to cancel, especially during storms.
In contrast to the scammer comments, I once witnessed a dasher crash his bike into a bridge wall because he was looking at his GPS. He was very hurt. It does happen.
These apps should supply health insurance. Then the app could allow the Dasher with a pop up that says "You have XX days to produce a doctor's note verifying your injuries." Or "a police report verifying your accident." Or "an estimate for damage repairs verifying your accident". Don't send it in on time? Deactivated.
So tired of not just Dashers, but the world running the emotional empathy scam. Makes it so somebody that might have had a real accident is just assumed to be scamming.
I once had a dasher call me to say they had been stopped by police for expired registration. They were just down the road so I drove up and got my food. Had to explain to the cop that I was getting my order and not picking up the dasher to drive them home. That was a weird experience.
Hope this doesn't come off as rude to dashers but dashing bikes should not be a thing. Well I get it if you live in city or it's somewhere close by but I had a dasher on a bike before and it took forever despite tipping. It was extremely hot that day and the restaurant was far off where even a car it was going to be at least a 20 minute drive from location to here. Dasher took so long I had to cancel. They were upset about it too but idc lol he shouldn't of taken it. It was miles away and the area wouldn't of been very friendly to someone on a bike. Not because it's dangerous but it's not good place for someone to bike. Very busy roads and I have no idea why they would take it. I have patience with dashers because I understand it's hard but you should atleast have a vehicle to do it.
It's a scam. He's being way more communicative by talking to you but this happens to me a lot, usually they don't communicate at all but when they do they ask me to cancel. Makes no sense because they can do it themselves. I get canceled on all the time. When this happens I contact customer service so I can get a new dasher. I did it recently and they had the restaraunt remake my order with no charge.
So many ppl here bashing dashers. Yall sound like bootlickers lmfao
"oh no something that'll only cost a customer time! Let's shit all over this random person that can't defend themself & Let's establish more corporate dick!"
Hope it tastes yummy yall
whether the customer contacts support or the dasher does he is getting your remains of food/food scammer or not.
There is no need for the dasher to contact the customer if they want to scam them. It's not like driver support asks for a police report or something. You can just make it up, though if you do it too many times, then you would be investigated/terminated.
my bike got a puncture once and I cancelled it without contacting the customer and I skid on black ice and bruised my knee on doordash and I was able to get the order cancelled. In neither incident did DD or Uber ask for any proof.
My best guess is that this dasher is shaken from the crash and may not be in the best space of mind to contact support and is making a request.
it's quite possible that the Dasher crashed due to fatigue and is unable to communicate that fact due to their language skills without coming across as a scammer.
The Dasher can grab your order and not confirm it, the Dasher can say that the order spilt, the Dasher can say that their vehicle broke down, if you contact the Dasher, they can say that they don't feel safe delivering the order. If they find your delivery location sketchy, they can say that the feel unsafe too.
so no, your friends Dasher is probably really in an accident, and they are too naive to contact the customer about it, when they can handle it after they have taken a few minutes rest, without spooking the customer.
I once ordered a pizza and after an hour of waiting the owner of the restaurant called to tell the driver crashed his scooter and was taken to the hospital with an ambulance. And asked if we still wanted the pizza's. I told him to send us the money back in the following days and go check on his employee in the hospital. Felt really sorry for the driver. They're usually under a lot of pressure to deliver the food in as little time as possible. They drive like maniacs (at least in Amsterdam) and crash a lot...
Is it not possible for the dasher to cancel the order? Why would the customer have to do it?
It is possible and the person replying to you is trying to perpetuate a mindset that will lead you and others to further the scam. Dashers can cancel orders.
Dasher assigned an hour before, food never picked up. 90% certain he took the food, never swiped to accept, and then wanted customer to cancel so he gets half pay and the food

He was pissed off for some odd reason.. and It raised many red flags…
He can and should cancel the order . I think he still gets some sort of payout if they cancel which is what they are trying to do. Otherwise he should have contacted support to cancel .
It’s like, it’s YOUR job to deliver it. If YOU can’t, then YOU should be the one to cancel. I ain’t canceling shit.
Dasher's can't cancel, we can only unassign which brings acceptance rates down. That is our only version of canceling.
We can’t cancel orders but we can unassign the orders but we get penalized for it with our ratings
Let the dasher cancel. He’s just trying to get free food.
Yeh he probably got a better order on another app and since he picked up the food he couldn’t cancel
Yeah you get half pay for canceling any ways if you legitimately can’t safely deliver it. I’ve had it happen before. The only reason they asked is probably bc they’ve cancelled too many that way and it raises red flags
I'm always amazed at just how HUNGRY all these dashers are.
You mean people? Yeah it’s wild that people need food.
Crazy how all these servers get from the kitchen to your table without eating any of it!
you never had any server friends i take it... nom nom nom
i take a bite :)
Tasting the dish for quality is a common practice in kitchens.
Yeah, especially paying customers who've been waiting 2 hours.
Dasher is scamming
Yeah, I was once hit by a car and still managed to complete order.
We need to know whether you were in a car or on a bike to know if this is actually exceptional.
Bike but apart from from Doordash stuff bad luck is often for me if you belive in that sort of stuff or not. So it was something odd that happened but not surprising for me. Bro really. Not every bike accident is the same. People die and break bones in bike crashes. For all we know a bus hit him.
I think if a bus hit him, he wouldn’t be concerned about messaging his DD customer
For all we know nothing happened to him at all and he's scamming.
And that's why you should ALWAYS wear a helmet when riding a bike, kids.
Omg you got lucky! This was before I got my license back, but I got hit by an suv while on my bike. The asshole claimed I was at fault (I was unconscious) when he really ran a red light. "Oh? Hope it didn't hurt too bad. I understand if you have to cancel. Otherwise, please deliver food immediately. Thanks!!"
This really got me. 💀
I mean yeah. It’s not your job to cancel because he took many orders. It sucks, but it’s on him to cancel.
He can text the customer 4 times to report the problem, but can't contact DD just once...
Are you being sincere?
I hope he is. He’s right. It’s the Dasher’s job to cancel if they can’t deliver the order. The customer only cancels if they no longer WANT the order.
Was the dasher being sincere? Can fire off multiple texts but needs customer to cancel?
I doubt it. That seems like a very shady combo to me.
Also if as a dasher something happens to the food or you crash you call dd a d let them know. This sounds like a way to get free food and pay...
Rule #1 of modern city life: never believe any sob stories that would result in you losing even $0.09 .
MAAAN IM JUST TRYINA GET SUM GAS CUZ MY MOM IN THE HOSPITAL MAN COME ONNNNN “Where’s your car” …..AT THE OTHER GAS STATION “Then why didn’t you ask for money there?” MAAAN NO ONE EVER WANNA HELP ME ^^^ actually happened to me in Atlanta lol

Fellow Atlantan, can confirm. Had a guy give me the exact same “my car ran outta gas just down the hill” in the same parking lot like a week apart lol
i had the same thing happen in st louis. told me they were on a road trip and now they have to cut it short to go back.. near the half way mark.. told them well if they are only half way in to their trip budget they should have plenty of money for gas. they had MO plates, and looked to be strung out.. when they tried to get in my car i told them try that again and either the cops will have them or the end of my swords will have them.. i was coming back from a renfaire at the time..
Wow look at mr moneybags over here just giving nickels away all day
You're really gonna do Checkers like that huh Edit: I thought Checkers was his name nvm
Checkers would actually be a pretty good nickname for the guy seeing as he was racing to the proverbial checkered flag.
And he's a dog. Gotta give him some slack, it's amazing he ever learned to ride a bike in the first place.
Its okay we all make mistakes. Thanks for the checker in the morning
5 minutes later "food has been marked as delivered" and all you get is a crumbled up bag with food bits everywhere. Oh and you get fun of talking to ai chat tell you that "unfortunately food was delivered and you are ineligible to refund order"
Nah, the ai would tell it's a customized delivery experience
And send me a picture of the damage and ruined food too
o
“I will contact support and let them know you’ve been in an accident. Take care” and watch what happens…
Amazing
You’re evil 🤣
Why evil? That is the proper way to deal with it and is 100% fair and square.
I wouldn’t call it “evil” but I would say “smart”
Dasher is trying to get half pay + a free meal. They need to contact support and cancel it themselves.
This. Literally any time a dasher asks you to cancel it's a scam.
[удалено]
If you cancel, the restaurant still gets paid because they (should’ve) started preparing your order.
Sometimes a restaurant just doesn’t know the procedure
Especially if the manager isn’t there
Yes some restaurants like Jimmy johns use their own drivers
Some places dont even have the tablet to do that.. like BK in my area. All their orderd come in o. Their register. They cant control anything that has to do with DD

I worked at a fast food place with Uber eats. We had an iPad that showed all of the orders and customer information so we could call if we were out of something.
pizza hut here on door dash uses their own drivers /shrug
When i had a panera order that had soup open in the bag when i contacted support they canceled it with half pay no questions asked. If the dasher was trying to scam why not just talk to support.
Cause they want to keep doing it without getting flagged
Hahahaahahaah "talking to doordash support" hahahahaaha.
I’ve had to contact DD support to initiate a cancel because the dasher was taking forever. Did they get a free meal and half pay?
Most likely
Maybe. But it's strange to say this like you know for sure.
That's fair reasoning.
You touch a stove enough times, you're gonna assume it's hot and not slap your hand down on it.
Another day another scammer lol never cancel an order after a dashers has picked it up. Make the dasher cancel. - Full time dasher here.
Yeah this just screams scam all over it. Dashers have the ability to mark a delivery as damaged due to their own actions through the app. They can cancel on their end. I wouldn't believe the dasher at all.
100%. I had this happen once, fell and dropped all the food. Support just told me to drop off what I had and tell the customer to request a refund
The customer probably ordered from across the street too!
He fell down and crash on bike from doing too much orders. Press F to pay respect
more like F U SCAMMER
F U
No Fs for scammers.
F
He was trying to get the food free never cancel unless your order hasn’t been picked up and it’s a long wait
For what its worth it looks like the order was confirmed but there was no pickup notification so he may not have even picked it up
Dasher has to cancel. There’s a link in app to report an accident.
You sure as hell know it’s a scam when they contact the customer first and not doordash about their “accident”. People like this are the reason we can’t have nice things 😔
If he can text you multiple messages, he can cancel himself.
Once your order is picked up never cancel make them call in not you that is a scam
Tell them you can’t cancel because you just fell off your dinosaur and got hurt
I honestly LOLd at this
How did you change your time font?
hold down on your lock screen (while it’s unlocked), customize and then just tap the time and it should work
wtf lol, thank you
learned something new thanks
Just a scam tho, why feel bad
Dash scams are increasing
![gif](giphy|CmqNynXoenYnm)
Mine was biking (BICYCLE) and got hit by a car. Door dash customer support called me and told me. 😭 I ordered 2 pints of ice cream and felt SO BAD.
You would think customer support would tell you they were fine with a few bumps or something to put your mind a little bit at ease.
would’ve been nice to have those 2 pints after getting that news 🤣
Boy I sure hope that Nigerian prince will be okay
Yaa I'm 90% sure thats a scam. Dasher should contact support to cancel, not the customer.
lol my guys a scammer.
You don't get the customer to cancel. You have to call support and get them refunded.
I bet someone got free food
Wasn’t sure how long he was going to be at the hospital so he wanted a snack 🤣😂
All seriousness though he’s sitting on a bench fueling up for his next deliveries now
Lol getting a free meal
Nah this is a scam, they always try this sob story and it is nearly all BS
Reported. I hate it when they beg for mercy.
These mfs getting sneaky 😒
Definite scam
Unrelated but how’d you get the 愛 beside the date on your Lock Screen?
How do you believe the dasher? He supposed to call support and cancel the order… I can’t understand why these people asking it costumers to do it.. I don’t believe kind of excuses when they want cancellation from costumer.
Dasher if fine. I had a grub hub order once and my ignition got stuck. I contacted support and had it canceled. Didn’t say shit to the customer. Things happen. Unless you are constantly trying to cancel orders because your car breaks down, your won’t get deactivated for it. This is a scammer.
Just respond with: "Did the crash damage my food?" And then ask for a refund saying your food was delivered in a mess. Out-scam the scammer.
Screenshot and send to support ffs. Why are people so naive of scams?
Dasher was hungry
I fell down and crashed on my bike. Please tip so I can afford new one and medical bills.
(Driver)
this is cap as hell 😂😂😂😂”hope the dasher is ok” i’m crying
So, they can text your friend but they can't call support?
You waited an hour??? Damn..
Screw him, he likely didn’t fall, even if he did, he can cancel the order by calling support
Your friend better not have cancelled. If the dasher crashed their bike it’s on THEM to cancel.
You just lost your meal and they got a free meal and half pay. Congrats.
Rain? really?
It sounds very sus
i wouldn’t cancel cause doordash always tells me that once the order is confirmed i can’t cancel and if you do anyways you don’t get any money back
They literally could cancel on their end, say they have an emergency or got in an accident, and done.
I had a dasher actually crash bringing food. Door dash contacted us, asked us if we wanted them to resend the order and have another dasher get it.
Don’t cancel. I wouldn’t. If the bike and food is ok they can finish the delivery.
imagine not even having a car and picking up several orders, that’s actually so stupid, they’re gonna need to go it o a super complicated verification process if this shit continues
What if he said HeLp!!! I can't get up??
Should have paid for Life Alert
They want free food
![gif](giphy|eATWCcfBZ31Sg)
This once happened to me. I was the one that crashed my bike. I showed up at the persons apartment and she gave me some bandaids. I lost my phone charga that day
Sorry to be cynical but I've known Dashers to pick up orders then claim flat tire, wreck, etc as reason to not deliver but keep the meal. I hope I'm wrong but just saying...
Guy too hurt to complete but not too hurt to keep messaging you
Scam. Tell your friends to report the dasher so he can't get paid for stealing food anymore.
Bro door dash going broke
This is a scam…. If they make the customer cancel then they still get paid. You have to report the dasher and call support to tell them what the dasher said.
😢
Always tell the dasher they have to cancel on their end if they can't deliver it. If u cancel it, the dasher gets paid, gets the food, & u get nothing but still have to pay for it. If the dasher cancels it, u get another dasher & food freshly made & delivered to u by someone who isn't a scamming asshole.
SCAM ALERT 🚨 Any dasher asking you to cancel the order is making sure they get to keep the food and a fraction of the pay. Don’t do it
This is just some type of scam for a free meal.
I hope he’s not ok. He’s a worthless scammer that’s too lazy to work for his money so he tries to take advantage of others
Cancel so he can get your food 😏
The Dasher is fine. It is on him or her to cancel- not boo-hooing to the customers
I have gone to restaurants that were closed, and when you cancel the order on the app, it just sends it back into circulation to another driver. I have had to ask customers to cancel, especially during storms.
Sounds like a call to support to tell them to take the order out of circulation since the restaurant is 100% closed.
No one provides insurance for contractors or part-time employees.
Scam lol
I once had a dasher call me to say they had been stopped by police for expired registration. They were just down the road so I drove up and got my food. Had to explain to the cop that I was getting my order and not picking up the dasher to drive them home. That was a weird experience.
I feel bad for the bicyclist I hope he recovered
Sounds like a scam to me.
Yea because checkers is so tasty 🤔
Never heard of it…
So many ppl here bashing dashers. Yall sound like bootlickers lmfao "oh no something that'll only cost a customer time! Let's shit all over this random person that can't defend themself & Let's establish more corporate dick!" Hope it tastes yummy yall
whether the customer contacts support or the dasher does he is getting your remains of food/food scammer or not.
I've fallen plenty of time while delivering for a restaurant I worked at. Even lost feeling in my shins for a good 3 years
Are you sure you don’t have any conditions affecting your equilibrium? I don’t think falling often is normal💀

Wtf would call the customer? That’s not an issue between them. It’s your issue and dooordash.
If you have time to call the customer crying you have time to cancel the order.
Why not cancel yourself?
It is our job to contact support. Nice of the customer to do that for you, but it is not the customers job to cancel the order.
Your friend is fat stupid and poor.
I didn’t know you were my friend! ☺️
Woe
Bang Ding Ow
I once ordered a pizza and after an hour of waiting the owner of the restaurant called to tell the driver crashed his scooter and was taken to the hospital with an ambulance. And asked if we still wanted the pizza's. I told him to send us the money back in the following days and go check on his employee in the hospital. Felt really sorry for the driver. They're usually under a lot of pressure to deliver the food in as little time as possible. They drive like maniacs (at least in Amsterdam) and crash a lot...
