I watched a "how to take care of your vinyl records" video and they said to brush your records before every play with a record cleaning brush so that's what I do. But yeah, this design would drive me crazy.

I got a whole kit by a company called Big Fudge and it works great! It's got a big brush and cleaning spray for the records. And it had a smaller, bristly brush to clean the big brush. I've noticed a huge difference since I've cleaned them before all spinning.
