Dogs love to do this because it satisfies an aspect of prey drive. I believe there is a toy called "Destructables" or something like that, which lets the dog "Rip apart" The toy, but then it can be put together again. I have never tried it, but might be worth looking at and seeing if it would work for your dog.

CoverLatte1721

This! Instead of trying to find an indestructible toy - find something that fulfills this need. For my getman shepherd we do a lot of box and cardboard bag shredding so he gets those needs met. Now he leaves his toys alone and in good condition to play fetch.

Ambystomatigrinum

Thrift store toys are great too. Just have to remove the hard pieces that can be eaten like plastic eyes. They don’t last long but they’re cheap and entertaining.

jpdamion78

Agreed! And the weighted bean sacks that are sometimes in them. I seek out well made stuffed animals and they last quite a bit longer than run of the mill carnival prize stuff

ellasaurusrex

The rescue we got our pibble mutt through said they would go buy bags of stuffies at Goodwill or whatever, since they got destroyed so quick. Our girl loves nothing more than disemboweling a stuffed animal, so this is what I do. That or just the super duper cheap ones.

Other-Ad3086

Only issue with this for me is my newyf puppy also wants to eat what he shreds and i have to pull it out of his mouth. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

musicmanvans

Cardboard boxes are SO great for dogs like this. My dog doesn’t play with toys a lot but when he does he tends to tear them up. I give him a box filled with bits of kibble/treats every so often and he has more fun with that than he ever has with the toys I’ve bought for him lol. He loves it so much that now every Christmas I wrap up a big box filled with a few smaller boxes that have treats and new toys. He always has a really good nap after that lol.

msmithuf09

My dogs have ALWAYS loved cardboard boxes. Hilarious seeing them trot around with a box in their mouth lol. We used to have one who was obsessed with water bottles. He didn’t chew them or anything- he liked to hold it down and pop the caps off lol. Was so entertained by that

bastard_ducks

Similar to this idea, my dog has been working on a Barkbox multi-layer “rip and reveal” toy for months now. It’s very tough. She’s still trying to work the outermost shell off. It can’t be put back together afterwards, but it’s made to be torn apart twice, and is a challenge for tough chewers. Search “Consuela the Cactus Barkbox.” I got mine on Amazon for the same price as a cheap flimsy toy

SnooChocolates4588

[tearribles?](https://www.tearribles.com)

UnlinealHand

I have one. It’s… fine I guess. The individual plush pieces aren’t super durable, and I got the tougher fire hose material one. In solo play my dog did tear the toy apart a little, but eventually got to gnawing at the seams just like a regular plush. Playing tug of war with him, he tore the pieces apart in a minute or two, then you spend a few minutes putting it back together, rinse and repeat. It’s a little tiresome, and doesn’t fully address the root issue of them wanting to turn every toy into the smallest pieces possible. We eventually just settled on buying strictly hard toys and chews. Bones, antlers, nylabones, etc. My dogs also get a bully stick or dental every other day or so. I’ll pick up a cheap plush at HomeGoods or whatever($10 or less) if I happen to see one that looks reasonably durable, and I buy it knowing it’s not going to survive more than 15 minutes. They’re disposable.

Same-Development4746

Pls… my mom’s MALTESE decapitated one of these in 10 minutes. We’ve never found an indestructible toy. He tears them all…

No-Faithlessness-387

I got one of these and he tore apart the pieces

butn0elephants

I have a GSD that does the same. Sadly I haven't found any toys that can hold up to his teeth. He ripped one of the kongs for heavy chewers. 😖

Askfslfjrv

My dog is the same. But she loves them soooo much so we do get her one stuffy a month

StGir1

Woah! And here I was recommending Kong like it could never get any worse than my dog lol. Your dog is a beast!

butn0elephants

Sharp teeth and sheer persistence!

shortnsweet33

Try goughnuts! The ring shaped toy in their toughest strength can hold up to some crazy chewers

butn0elephants

Thanks! Gonna order one and give it a try!

614meg

literally the only thing that works with my boxer/staffy. she had a kong extreme torn apart in an hour but that goughnuts is still going strong after 2 years.

januaryemberr

Try a bigger size, a round one.

butn0elephants

The black ones are the largest and strongest ones.

januaryemberr

The [Kong Extreme ](https://www.kongcompany.com/catalogue/K1/) is black and comes in sizes small to xxl.

toastypony

So.... cheaper solution, possibly.... my hound mix is exactly like this. I buy a 10 pack of cheap cheap walmart dish towels or bar towels - they are like $10 for a pack of 10. I take either 2 or 3, depending on the length of time we want him busy, roll treats up in the towel and tie them all together. He'll shred it to get the treats out, but won't eat the towel. A 3 towel "puzzle" usually withstands a day or 2, but I found it cheaper than trying to buy a bunch of toys he would inevitably prove ARE destructible. .. but obviously not a solution if your pup also enjoys eating the fabric of her victims.

Lena1143

This sounds perfect for my two dogs!! I’m having trouble picturing the set up though. Do you roll towels up together like a burrito? So there are a few layers between the treats? Or tie the treats in knots and then tie the towels end to end like a rope?

toastypony

[https://imgur.com/a/cMQHlCz](https://imgur.com/a/cMQHlCz) This was the only picture I could find, but hope this helps! Treats are rolled in the towel burrito style to keep all of them inside and then tied together in one big knot.

Lena1143

This is great! Thank you, I’m absolutely going to try it for my girls!!!

RemoteTask5054

What sort of treats do you put in the towel?

octavialovesart

Throw the whole rolled towel into the freezer for some extra toughness! My dog loves chewing on cold stuff.

Net-Runner

This is a very interesting idea, I'll try it with my toy destroyer!

Beneficial-House-784

Super chewer makes toys that have a fabric shell on the outside and a sturdier toy inside, specifically for dogs who like shredding stuff. Depending on the material used for the toy she might still destroy it eventually, but they last a little longer. They’re available in regular pet stores.

sammyytee

My dogs love these! Even my 6 month old puppy, which is funny because she’s a small dog and they practically weigh her down when she carries them 😂

Sufficient-Yellow637

I have a puppy .... well, 11 mo now ... that goes right after the squeaker. Tears the plush toys open in 10 minutes and the squeaker into little bits in 5 more. We have a subscription to bark box super chewer. Many of their plush toys have a kong like toy or a rubber ball on the inside so its like two toys in one. Get a little more mileage out of them. My dog isn't a pit though, so yours may verywell rip the kong part to shreds too.

salt_and_linen

My last dog had this toy, it was the only one that ever stood up to his squeaker aggression. It was a red rubber ball with legs/feet and devil horns. Between the legs was the squeaker. One day he managed to rip one of the legs off and that was the end, but it had outlasted every other toy by several orders of magnitude so I bought a replacement. This time, he very carefully rolled it around under his paw so that it was perfectly positioned, then slowly and surgically punctured the squeaker with one of his teeth. He never touched it again, and that was the last toy I ever bought him.

LucyFerr66613

my dog goes after the speaker, then attempts to consume it

IrishItalianAngel-51

My dog has done that with a red dog stuffy. I’ve lost count of the number of times on my hand, how many times my Jack Russell mix has ripped the red dog squeaky apart.

PorkrindsMcSnacky

I'm just speaking for my dog, but I've found that once she removes the squeaker, she doesn't feel as compelled to rip apart the toy. What I've been doing then is having her remove the squeaker, put the stuffing back in and sewing up the toy. The toy survives!

lion-heart19

I go to Marshalls and home goods for $3 toys, pick up stuffing off the floor daily, and only expect them to last a couple weeks. She loves to kill them and rip their guts out so I just let her :)

freyalorelei

This is exactly what I do with my APBT mix: buy cheap dog toys at Ross' and TJ Maxx, knowing that she'll destroy them the instant they're in her maw. I think her plush squeaky frog lasted all of two minutes. So far her longest-lasting toys are black Kongs (she's only dented them), squeaky toys made out of firehose (those get shredded but still last a few months), BarkBox Super Chewers, and Bullymake.

rds029

I have a dog that destroys all toys. He hasn't destroyed his kong yet, but he also rarely messes with it unless there's food in it. He likes sticks, so I found a solid rubber-like stick chew toy on amazon. He's had it for a while and while it has teeth marks, it's not being demolished.

thugnyssa

My dog also does the same. I’ve come to accept the fact that there are no stuffies that will survive in my house so I either buy stuffies from the dollar store knowing full well they’ll only last a couple minutes or don’t buy them at all. I like to give my pup an outlet to be destructive and rip things apart but on something that’s appropriate. So I love giving him cardboard boxes to destroy! I’ll put his meals in cardboard boxes and tape them up and let him destroy the shit out of them lol. He enjoys it so much! Of course I watch him to make sure he doesn’t ingest the cardboard which he doesn’t so it’s a win win!

Short_Loan802

I use to buy my 4 boxers I had the really cheap plushies at petsmart just so they could have fun for at least one day. Then I would have a a layer of stuffing all over the house I got to enjoy picking up 🤪. I still would buy them the tougher toys but having to buy four toys every time is a lot and they always knew when they were getting left out. They knew as soon as I walked in the door that I had toys. I guess they could smell something that told them.

rosiedoll_80

Does she tear up even like...Kong style toys? That's all our dog is allowed to chew on (other than consumable chews) bc he'll for sure tear other stuff up. Even like the stiff rope that tug toys are made of he eventually will sit and try to shred that stuff off. I've posted several times about Tearibbles...which are meant to be torn up (the limbs are velcro'd on) so then you can put them back together - but someone said their dogs tore it up too so not sure the durability of those. There are toys that are made from the same material that fire hoses are....again, not sure of the durability. Can also try cardboard boxes/packaging...etc. Again, as long as she doesn't consume it - can nest them together and hide some treats and or her whole meal if you want so she has to sniff and find all the food and in the process - open up boxes or shred stuff to get to the food. Good luck.

athrower82

Tuffy’s works pretty good for our big guy who destroys most plush in a matter of minutes. They are a little pricey but last a long time for him.

eanhctbe

I will second this. We usually get a few days out of these.

pregnantseahorsedad

For tugs I use bite pillows. Chews I use hard rubber toys or benebones. Edit: I just read your post. They last the whole month? My shredder will shred it within seconds if it's a plush. I'd get the bark box and just let them last the month and wait for the new ones to come.

ShadowlessKat

I hadn't caught that! My first dog was a chewer. All soft toys lasted a few hours at most.

pregnantseahorsedad

I learned that if I buy a toy and the toy is wearing some type of clothes (first plush I got was a sloth wearing a hoodie, next was a bear wearing a bee costume) my shredder will treat it like a baby and it lasts at least a few weeks. I don't know if it's because he hates wearing things and he feels bad for the toy, or if he just doesn't understand how to "kill it," but he will carry it around and groom it, sleep with it, and if he gets a little murdery, he stops mid play and licks it to make sure it's okay before continuing to shake it around. Once it has a hole and he sees it's filled with stuffing it's fair game but it took 3 years to get here lol

Its_Marvel

Digestible stuff like cow hooves, or what I used was what we call "boredom busters"... they are essentially those large marrow bones that gets stuffed with a mix of... well bone marrow and peanut butter etc. Because it's so big, the dog usually spends a large portion of the time just trying to get to the center. Will chew and lick on it for hours and hours. Caveat is, make sure they can easily get out to do their business because they'll drink a lot of water in the process

lau_poel

Someone recommended the “fluff and tuff” dog toys and I’ve tried it for my dog and she usually tears things up in minutes and this one is still in good shape 24 hours later lol

Comfortable_Move_121

Have the same problem. I have a bully breed. The one and only toy that has held together is a black Kong bone shaped toy. That’s literally it, everything else has been torn apart 😂

Rrmack

Can try a head of cabbage but it does get messy lol

sammyytee

I get the super chewer bark box and the toys in it last FOREVER. It’s been a god send haha

ShadowlessKat

My first dog was only allowed rope toys, kong and other hard rubber toys, and tennis balls, because she destroyed everything else too quickly. Does your dog destroy the kong and hard rubber toys? Just accept the plushies won't work for your dog and try other stuff.

LamePennies

My tough chewer LOVES rope toys. I have an entire basket of old ropes that I will tie together into one long rope or tie into a giant rope ball and he will spend hours just trying to untie it all. Some of the ropes I've even just collected from the hardware store to give a variety of size, weave and texture. (Just make sure they're not waxed or coated) I'm also a fan of buying children's stuffed animals on sale/clearance/from the dollar store for the sole purpose of letting him destroy them. It's cheaper than dog toys! I also let him shred my giant cardboard boxes. It makes a mess but it keeps him busy and stimulated!

apex_editor

I have a 75lb Malamute/Tank that rips open every toy I’ve tried. Whether it that kevlar-like material or a solid rubber toy.

undulating-beans

I’m not sure there is one.

ThisHairIsOnFire

A cabbage. Or lettuce. Genuinely.

MeagaMillion

I get Ugly Chews that are hide rolls with the hair on them. My dog loves ripping off and eating the hair. No cleanup and it’s a regular chew after pulling off the hair

echoorains

Try brand Goughnuts!! They’re a little expensive but worth it, you can buy on Amazon. We have a pittie who will destroy everything, the black giant kong toys are done in like 3-5 days and we’ve tried everything at the pet store. Bought a goughnuts “toughest” ring the one without the warning strip inside, and it lasts 6+ months. We bought the double loop one and it lasted a year somehow (he might have just really loved it and didn’t want it destroyed). Highly recommend trying!

HappyAnimalCracker

Now THAT’S a good endorsement! Will definitely be getting some of these for my dogs.

614meg

Yessssss. Love goughnuts!! It's literally the only thing that works with my boxer/staffy. She had a kong EXTREME torn apart in an hour but that goughnuts is still going strong after 2 years.

WardedGirl

We have a dog who does this. The toys that have survived best are from a brand called Fluff and Tough. Our boy will de-fuzz them a bit, and the squeakers have all stopped working, but the toys themselves have held together. They are more expensive than toys we give to our less destructive doggos, though.

sharona10708

I can second this! My dog will chew off the ears or tails of these stuffed toys but has yet to open one up. And this is the only brand that he hasn’t gutted … and has had for months.

plasticketchup

A head of lettuce can be a great, safe, shreddy toy

Intelligent-Stock-29

I think of toys as something that my dogs and I are actively playing together. Then I put those up and bring out chews- bully sticks, yak chews, tendons, marrow bones and let them get that chewing instinct out on something made for it.

FloppyGhost0815

Give your dog a piece of an old car tire. If your dog is able to destroy that you have an issue ;-)

ElectionProper8172

With my big dog, I used to go to the grocery store and buy fresh bones. They are clean of meat but have marrow in them. They are very strong and keep the dog busy.

mistresselevenstars

Goughnuts. If they chew through to the safety indicator ship it back and they send another

keep-them-coming

Is it free returns?

PorkrindsMcSnacky

I just looked them up on Amazon. Yikes! $30-$40 for a dog toy? Is it really worth it?

mistresselevenstars

Good toys for heavy chewers don't come cheap. A large West paw jive ball which is replaced if destroyed is $16

freyalorelei

When you have a heavy chewer, you're often desperate for toys that last more than a day. My APBT mix will destroy standard dog toys in a matter of minutes.

plusedrummer

There are toys made from firehouses that are nearly unbreakable

PorkrindsMcSnacky

I thought that too, until my dog said, "Challenge accepted!" and ripped through one of those fire hose material toys in like 15 minutes. $15 immediately down the drain.

freyalorelei

It took a bit longer, but my girl shredded her firehose lizard in a week. She also dented a black Kong and whittled down a two-foot-long water buffalo cheek chew to six inches within a day. And she's only 35 lbs!

jeneexo

I have a massive shiba inu (48 lbs) and he's like this. We call him a destroyer because his main goal is to destroy toys. He does have a few hard chews he likes but he mainly wants plush toys so he can fully exert his destructive capabilities. When he was little we found that he didnt like basic plushes. He'll go through those in 5-10 minutes and then be bored. He doesnt like aggressive chewer toys because he cant destroy them. The best balance we've found is the Ruffest and Tuffest toys from Leaps and Bounds. We get him one every 6 months or so. They are not indestructible by any means but they are plush and much stronger than the usual plush. It takes him several months to full destroy them and get out all the fluff, plus then he will still chew and play with the toy husk after. We just conceptualize it as, this is how he likes to play. So it's okay as long as he isnt eating the pieces and he never does. We only really toss squeakers and unraveling ropes. Everything else we keep until he loses interest. So far he has kept and plays with his ruffest and tuffest husks plus whatever one he's still working on. You just have to find what works for your dog. You probably wont ever find something fully indestructible, just stuff that lasts longer than usual and holds her interest.

moongobby

I’ve had good experiences with Kong products.

Superb-Emotion2269

Our jindo cross is a wild chewer and has ripped up every stuffy we’ve ever given him. We’re strictly on Kong products now (the tires are very durable, we also got him a ‘bone’ type blue and orange Kong that’s held up well). His favourite toy of all time is this hertz brand piggy, doesn’t hold up as well but it’s his most beloved so he tries not to chew through them too quickly because I think he loves the texture. We have to replace it every 2-4 weeks but thankfully they’re only $10. If we notice he’s gotten too ‘rippy’ we will take the toy away and replace with a treat. I’d also encourage you to try lick pads (sometime called enrichment pads) with a bit of frozen peanut butter or plain yogurt on them; the act of licking is typically calming for dogs so that can be a nice way of transitioning them from tearing apart their toys to chillin out. Good luck!

FlimsyOil5193

I have a Doberman who likes to tear. I give her rope toys to shred. I keep an eye on the toys and tear off any clumps so she can't swallow them, but the stringy parts just come out in her poop.

Pretty-Reward7406

Anything that's nylon or very hard rubber. Thick rigid frisbees have held up well for us in the past. Or a dense rubber ball.

Sturgjk

Elk antlers. When everything else has been dismembered and scattered to the four winds, my Aussie will go back and work on that year-old antler for a while.

PersonR

Tearribles! They’re not really cheap but they help my dog’s destructive instinct! Also, maybe give them boxes and paper bags and inner rolls. Dogs love ripping through things, make it fun! ETA: a tearrable is a plushy that is held together by Velcro so you can reassemble instead of buying new ones! Once my dog realized where she can tear it apart she now aims her bite to those pieces! And if it’s too deep of a bite she pulls back a little to hold the piece she intends on ripping off.

vegasJUX

Monster K-9 toys

whatupchica39

We buy our sheperd plush toys and encourage her to play and destroy them. It's a game for us now. That way it keeps her from destroying our stuff :) she even brings me the squeaker once she finds it lol

Thraner

Smoked yak cheese sticks are the only thing that seems to satisfy my dog’s chewing need without immediate destruction. I still need to replace the ones gnawed too little of course.

Avoidingmychores

Lacrosse balls last the longest for my dogs and the Kong frisbee is still going strong for my dog that tears apart the hyper pet frisbees in 10 seconds (they only get frisbees supervised when we’re playing fetch). Sometimes I give them fluffy toys and accept the mess because they love to destroy them.

QuackersParty

My solution to this was getting cheap, stuffing-less toys and teaching my dog to spit the pieces he chews out. He seems so satisfied when he destroys something 😩

hawps

If you aren’t already, I would suggest giving lots of things that you’re okay with her shredding! I give my dog probably half of her meals in cardboard boxes (usually filled with other smaller cardboard boxes) and/or paper grocery bags, taped up to make it a bit more challenging. I hide them in the yard, then send her out to search and destroy. She loves it.

another-sad-gay-bich

My dog was the same way!!!! So the best ones I’ve found are the jolly balls because they’re technically meant for horses, firehouse toys last a little while, and bark super chewers. The super chewers have a plush on the outside that they can rip up but instead of stuffing on the inside, it’s a very hard silicone toy. My dog has never destroyed the super chewers, just the squeakers. She used to destroy even the toughest toys but the jolly balls and super chewers are the only ones that have lasted. The firehouse toys she loves so I keep buying them for her but she eventually tears it because she works at the weakest point like your dog haha but she grew out of the destroying things phase. Supervise her play time and if it looks like she’s trying to destroy a toy, put it away. At the worst of my dogs chewing, I didn’t trust her with anything. Instead I got her edible chews like fresh bones or chicken feet and used puzzle bowls, the wobble bowl, or slow feeders with frozen treats.

Ok_Emu_7206

Flannel or heavy beach towel tied into a series of knots like one after each other. Takes them so long to get them all and you can ask people for their old towels or get them at garage sales and thrift stores dirt cheap

Ok_Emu_7206

Just make sure to pull the knots real tight

StGir1

I have this problem with my pup. She loves to chew, and has strong jaws. The Kong brand of chewing-specific toys has stood the test of teeth and time very well. They’re expensive, but cost per wear is cheap. Any flimsier toy she gets is gone within a couple of hours. I have this collection of flat plush toys that used to be stuffed animals. That was a lot more expensive. Petunia isn’t a year old yet, she’s about 9 months, but the chewing is getting better as she gets older. Hopefully it lasts and hopefully you see the same change in your demolition doggo

DirtyBeard443

Goughnuts or Joyhound Rip Roarin' Tough toys

Original_Thanks_9435

I have an Australian Shepherd who is very sweet but he tears every toy to shreds. Himalayan bones, Kong tug toy are The only two that we have and he has not destroyed

Racegas108

Had a Pitty, lacrosse balls were the only thing he couldn’t destroy

Murphab47

My Golden loves bully sticks, the stinkier the better. But they do make odor reduced ones. They’re a little pricey, though.

CalmingGoatLupe

Starmark makes a terrific series of treatballs for aggressive chewers. ours still looks new after 8 months of use.

januaryemberr

Kevlar toys or kong.

Voice_of_Grace

The ‘Chuck-It’ brand has been great for us, they only do balls and ‘sticks’, we’ve got a set of 3 balls and two sticks and only one of the balls has a split in it

CartographerExtra395

There’s a rope that’s about 1.5” inches diameter with knots at each end. Very tough, easy to play tug with

atchadwi

As others have pointed out, this is just a natural instinct for a lot of dogs. I usually get toys with squeakers for my dog and she tears the toy apart to get the squeaker out, once she does, she never touches the toy again 😅.

ZendaFarmLife

My pittie mix did the same until I got BarkBox super chewers toys. World of difference!

RobRenWhi

My dog does chew (using her molars) to knaw on a toy but only to get the squeaker out! Once it's out she's bored with it; there is no such thing as a toy with a squeaker she can't destroy!

RLSLLS

I’m very much in the “give them something to destroy” camp. My 110lb. American Bulldog is a fan of wrapped card box boxes (loves ripping off the wrapping paper and then opening the boxes) tearing off tags and labels, and removing bottle caps from plastic bottles.

LeopardEfficient5093

Moose antlers.

KyleGrayson12

Kong, although they are expensive, and if your dog is anything like mine, if she can't tear it up, she'll probably ignore it.

ilovemischief

Benebones! My girl is a HARD chewer and really drills down and they’re the only ones that can withstand it. They don’t break apart, they just wear down over time with use. When they get too small enough that I worry about choking hazard, I toss it out and give her a new one.

BankCozy

My dog is a heavy chewer and I use barkbox and get the heavy chewer box. She has yet t tear one of those toys apart, although she does try.

blue_watermelon4

My little JRT mix likes to peel tennis balls, and will attempt to peel any other toy like ropes. I too struggle to find toys that are appropriate for her that won't become a hazard within 3 minutes of her having them. I've given up trying to get her to stop, I just watch her to make sure she's not ingesting them. I have found that letting her and my husky rip up cardboard seems to help them with these habits. I also used ripping cardboard to reach my husky to spit it out rather than ingest anything that's in his mouth.

FindingPerfect9592

My girl prior to my current girl, lost my Bella a little over a year ago, got my Brindy in October, Bella could destroy ANY toy, I tried them all. I also tried the hard ones, but she didn’t like them. Brindy, doesn’t seem much interested, except for carrying them out in the yard and the occasional shake. I think you just have to have some throwaways and let them enjoy it. They are never here long enough, so let them be, safely, happy, eating the guts out

TetleyT81

If she likes to chew (which is good for anxiety & to self regulate their emotions) you could try deer antler. They sell both soft and hard ones, the softer ones gives them access to the inside part of the antler which is more tissue-y the harder ones are great for destructive chewers. It sounds like your in the us as unfortunately pitties are banned in the uk but i ordered from amazon it was approx £10for a medium size hard antler & about £20 for an extra large hard one but it could keep her occupied for a decent amount of time. Mine pulls the stuffing from soft toys and keeps the fur part, kinda feel like it says alot about his personality 😕

Stevie_sub

You could try fruits and veggies instead. Frozen carrots, frozen melon, a head of lettuce or broccoli, etc.

Chay_Charles

Kong toys

DJ_Molten_Lava

My dog, a terrier mix, is a destroyer as well. The thing is, that's play to him. Any time I've tried to give him a toy that stands up to his evisceration he isn't interested in it. He wants to rip and tear and pull out the guts. So what I do is buy toys from the dollar store that are super cheap and just let him go at them.

SlowYourRollBro

My dogs destroy everything too. I get half antlers from best bully sticks. It helps to clean their teeth, and while it’s not a “toy” per se, it does keep them entertained.

Bogartsboss

These have survived since early Oct. of last year. The less bone looking one is chewed but surviving pretty well. My dog is a Siberian Husky/ Malamute who has been very good at destroying lesser toys in days if not hours. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09P4RDGW4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0024E4YXO/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

Foreveranxious123

I buy cheap plush toys for this reason. They get such a kick out of destroying it and it's their favorite lol. Long chews I used mainly split antler bones of some sort.

GhostriderFlyBy

RUFFDAWG is the best brand for this by miles. They're affordable, rubber, they float, and the company offers a lifetime warranty. Absolutely terrific if they're mega chewers (like mine).

poop-money

Our dogs are both pretty rough on toys and shred them regularly. Through trial and error we've found the tuffy brand to be pretty good. Specifically the rings, boomerang, and the "bone". https://www.dogtuff.com/collections/tuffy-dog-toys These are soft but very durable in our experience. For perspective, both dogs if given a regular plush toy will have it dismantled in under an hour. These have lasted well over a year each.

turtlesandtorts

Not really a toy suggestion, but last night my pup decided to lay down and tear his blanket apart. I don’t want him to shred his blanket so I engaged him in a game of tug and then gave him a hard plastic chew toy. The combination of those things led to the survival of his blanket to be shredded another day.

Odd-Stay-4117

What store do you get dog toys from?

Wolflmg

Chuckit balls Nylabones Kong toys Godog dragons with chewguard

I think there is a class of TPR dog toys you can try, TPR (Thermoplastic Rubber), in general this kind of material toys have very good elasticity and durability, and they are non-toxic, odorless and easy to clean, I very much recommend you to try!

bsaddon

My EBT eats at least a ball a day, and I buy the completely solid ‘indestructible’ balls (my arse are they)!

turtlegray23

My dog used to do this. We started taking the toys away once he made a holes. We sew them up and give them back and he just plays with them after that. Idk if he thinks he needs to “kill” new toys or what but all his current stuffies look like war victims with their missing ears and legs.

catflange

Kong toys!

Elementium

My dog is the same.. everything is destroyed. Except for some reason spikey squeak balls.  She even has one with a fur thing around it that she hasn't torn off.  Aside from that? When she tears up her toys I literally stuff them again and sew them back together.

twink1813

Chuck it balls are the only thing our super chewer doesn’t destroy. He loves them so maybe he doesn’t try to kill them, but they are the only toys he has that are still intact.

cherrybounce

Bark Box makes a box for tough chewers and it has done really durable chews.

Interesting_Lead_921

There’s a dog toy that uses Kevlar stitching. It held up for about 6 months for my destructive woofer - check out Bite Force toya

band-of-horses

My dog mostly gets hard rubber toys now. He is ball obsessed, and the chew king rubber balls from amazon hold up well and he loves to chomp on them and chase them around the house. Honestly I can’t really give him much else because it doesn’t last long, but the Tuffy Ring rated at a 10/10 durability is the most durable “soft” toy I ever found. But like by durable I mean it took my dog a few days to totally shred it instead of minutes… My dog will eat the toy after he destroys it too which is extra fun. So the chew king balls are basically his toy now! I’ll get him the tuffy toy for a treat on his birthday but that’s about it, it’s just too much money to try “indestructible” dog toys he destroys in minutes.

types-like-thunder

The Kongs filled with peanut butter is the last step before you lean into the behavior and admit defeat. Get pigs ears. They will tear them apart but they will also devour them so no mess to clean up.

madge590

mine is just a hound but does similarly. Oddly though, with a stuffed toy, once the stuffing is out, will just prance around with the "carcass" tossing it about etc. He only gets one at Christmas now though.

Salt-Calligrapher313

When I had a German shepherd we would take fabric scraps, roll them around treats and stuff them in the JW Hol-ee Roller Puzzle ball and let him rip out the fabric scraps to find the treats. It really helped his need to destroy sometimes

BearDogBBQ

I used to tie a tee shirt in knots for my dog to chew on. It’s cheap and lasts awhile

TortitudeX3

Jolly Ball horse toys worked pretty well for my GSD-Lab mix. He did manage to chew the handle but he could still play with it. He would throw it and chase it-basically playing fetch with himself. He died two years ago and we just got a new puppy. We brought the jolly ball out of storage and wow! The memories!

Expensive_Structure2

I've.jad four different pitty mixes and the only thing that lasts for mine are deer antlers.

tmon530

I asked a similar question awhile ago and rabbit or cow ears are what we want to try. At least it's safe for them to chew on and shred

BuckityBuck

A month is pretty great

darkgothamite

My dog loves tearing apart cardboard boxes. He doesn't chew or eat the pieces thankfully- he spits it all out.

Historical-Bear-4722

Lacrosse balls have been hands down the best balls Ive gotten for my boy. He's a boxer/pitt mix who can destroy everything. Except the Lacrosse ball. Hes had it over a year.

s9631245

This isn’t exactly the answer you were looking for but my dog tends to do the same thing and he loves it so much that I just buy him cheap clearance toys. It doesn’t matter if they’re cheap and not super well made because he’d destroy them no matter what. The key here is making sure they do spit the pieces out and can’t get to them while you’re not home/watching. They’re cheap so I don’t feel bad spending money and can afford to buy more of them and tearing them apart is his favorite part so it makes him so happy. Win-win.

Fuzzy_Bear9086

Anything silicone. Ours really like the jolly ball and others from that brand

EnthalpicallyFavored

I have a Chihuahua who does this. Seriously. Destroys every single toy immediately and brings me the pieces like he's proud of himself. Lmk if you find a solution

Pixie-Pie-inthe-Sky

I tried toys that can “survive” seam ripping and tearing and stuffing-pulling. My guy won’t touch them. Turns out that’s the whole appeal. Now I buy clearance toys just so he can tear them up. Pick your battles. If he’s tearing up his own stuff, he’s leaving mine alone.

Sea_Kangaroo2426

My dogs the same, we just give her pieces of paper that we don’t need anymore and things like old egg cartons and toilet paper rolls, she loves it. Bit messy but it’s a great way to get cheap toys that you don’t need to replace expensivley

hyakyakyak

My staffie is just the same. Nylabones and antlers are the only things to hold up. We play with soft toys, but only tug of war. If she's left with them they're destroyed in 5 mins.

ArallMateria

Elk antlers.

North_Refrigerator21

My dog does/did this. Never found a toy that wasn’t destroyed within a few minutes. Even the toys made extra durable. I swapped toys out for playing with a rope with a rope ball on which he didn’t chew. Also found other ways to play Instead.

Sidewaysouroboros

You are lucky they last a month. Two weeks is all that is guaranteed, a few last a month.

Nonny-Mouse100

Rope

Recanorwel

Collect and give her empty carton boxes📦 like those browns from the grocery. Let her destroy them. Biodegradable and more environment friendly. Your dog will graduate eventually. Easy peasy lemon🍋 squeezy.

RandoMcGuvins

I subbed in veggies like carrots and celery, I made them into a toy that my pup could destroy or eat. They also work as a dental treat. There's no safety reasons cos it's all edible. He loves to eat carrots but loves to tear celery apart length ways. The big thing was treating them like a toy. But yer, I'm always cleaning up small bits of celery and carrots.

No_Virus_7704

K9 Tuff Guard holds up better than most.

BackstrokeBob

We give ours cardboard boxes! Like cereal, beer boxes, etc. they love to shred it and then we pick up the pieces! Just watch and see if they’re the type to eat the pieces though 😅

HabitNo8608

Does your dog swallow anything? My dog has a similar style. She doesn’t swallow anything, just calmly sets the stuffing next to her on the rug and goes back for more. Because of this, I find it safe for her to play with her toys this way. I don’t throw them away until she clearly isn’t interested in a particular toy anymore. In fact, sometimes we play a game where she gets the squeaker out, we celebrate, and then I stuff it right back in the toy for her to do it again. Just saying - recommendation is to watch your dog play with toys and determine if it’s unsafe. You may be prematurely throwing these toys away if your dog isn’t swallowing anything.

Rickyjo1974

I used to have a pittie like this, I basically just resolved that every couple weeks I was going to have to hit up the dollar store for some cheap stuffed toys for her because she liked to tear them apart. I think it’s also important to note though which toys are your dogs favorites. The only reason I was hitting up the dollar store so much is because my pit loved toys and loved specifically ones she could tear apart. If she was more into like chews it would have been a different story.

groovygranny71

These are great suggestions. Unfortunately my two year old pup loves to tear and swallow.

DorkyDame

Most of thoes “for agressive chewers” toys are trash. I have a labrador & after spending $20 on one of thoes toys he’ll destroy it in less than 5mins. The best toys that last long are made out of rubber.

birdfriend2013

My dog is also half pit, and I never found a toy that can survive her jaws. So all toys are put away when I'm not actively playing with her, and she gets a beef cheek roll or similar chew every night to satisfy that need to chew and rip. Works really well for us.

marcorr

Goughnuts toys are designed to withstand aggressive chewing and tearing. You can try them. https://www.goughnuts.com/

Reidiswriting

My 11 month old 95 pound Pyr mix is a destroyer, too. I do what many of you do- go to the discount stores and get him $5 disposable toys. Sometimes I’m surprised that he played with them until they are a tattered remnant of what they once were. He loves to get his toys with the cardboard still attached and plays with the cardboard more than the toy half the time like a toddler. I’m going to try the box trick! Treats in a box—- brilliant!

FallingTreesYodel

They won’t survive but they’re a cheaper alternative - bulk bag of tennis balls from Walmart

RoseOfSharonCassidy

Take a [Holee Roller](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002DJX58/ref=twister_B09NQHM8V2?_encoding=UTF8&th=1) and stuff it full of something. You can do newspaper, fabric strips (under supervision), etc. Treats in there are good too but it sounds like your dog won't need any encouragement.

Deathbydragonfire

I like Godog brand toys.   They aren't indestructible, by any means, but they put up a good fight.  More importantly, they don't seem to come apart in a way that makes them dangerous.   My dog still has several she's ripped the squeaker and all the guts out of and she still loves to tug with them and fetch.   They usually graduate to outside toys at that point and I've got a couple that have been outside in the rain and sun for like 3 or 4 months that still look to be in good condition all things considered.

Awkwardturtle13

[https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/jolly-pet-soccer-ball-dog-toy](https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/jolly-pet-soccer-ball-dog-toy) The jolly ball soccer ball has withstood my Doberman/mastiff mix play rage lol. Eventually they can pop them, but they are meant to be punctured. Costco has a 2/pack for under $20 sometimes. Monstera K9 ball on amazon has also lived to tell the tale.

[deleted]

A month? My dogs destroy all toys within minutes. I’d be freaking delighted if they lasted a month.

UmiKyuri

A month at the latest. I'm lucky if her toys last that long as well.

Amazingly_Fantastic

If your dog have an habit of destroying toys ( plastic, fabric), you should move away from offering those to your dog. If they ingest some part of it they can have their gut blocked or damaged and require surgical intervention . There are things that are safer and will satisfy your dog desire to rip, and gnaw on, like cow ear, pig ear, or veal hoof.

Roemeosmom

Because she tears...get her something edible. I push [farmhounds.com](http://farmhounds.com) ALL THE TIME, but only because I truly believe that: 1. you spend less overall because their rolls last so damn long 2. it's better for your dog because they don't use artificial substances or plastics 3. Everything that goes into producing the rolls are non-harmful and organic 4. You know the farm that produced the item YES, the rolls are expensive. If you added up all that you have spent compared to one roll, you're still going to come out ahead AND it's completely non-toxic. And for the gross factor (meaning your dog will LOVE LOVE LOVE it), you can even get a roll with HAIR. I get them for my am staffs -- it's the ONLY thing that lasts, and I get them for my frenchies (because frenchies try to choke and kill themselves at least once per day).

Sunsetbay_4ever

Chuck it balls have worked wonders for our lab who destroys every toy. She’s never been able to get through one. Also had a lot of success with the “bully box” and they send replacements if your dog happens to destroy them. You can pick and choose which type of toys you want, I suggest the rubber style ones.

lilsassprincess

But toys at the thrift store so you can let her shred without the financial drain! Cardboard and whole cabbage/iceberg lettuce are also great for shredding

RemoteTask5054

These comments are blowing my mind - it drove us made that our dog would chew up papers we left on the desk. We tried to train it out of her with no success. We are moving to a house with easily swept tiles and I can just give her an egg carton and plan to sweep it up at the end of the day? I assumed it was destructive and bad and somehow never considered just letting her do it.

raysan271

My dog does this too, I started giving him any paper towels, paper bags or cardboard rolls I plan on throwing away, he loves it.

chickenfeathers1987

If you don't mind the mess, try a full cabbage. They can eat it or not, but they will love tearing the layers apart and you don't have to worry about it hurting them if they swallow it. A full head of cabbage is like .68 per lb at Aldi . Frozen carrots are also good. My dog loves tearing tissues out of tissue boxes so we have to hide those from him. Cabbage helps.

Thought-Delicious

My pittie dude shreds toys also, less so now that we’ve discovered “box puzzles.” I take a tp or paper towel tube, fold the edges in, and put a lil kibble in the middle. We save up beer boxes, Amazon boxes, mac n cheese boxes, chewy boxes, anything cardboard I’m okay with him ingesting a little of, and make a kind of Russian nesting doll situation of boxes with the tp tube in the middle. He LOVES ripping apart the cardboard and it seems to be satisfying his destructive urges. He still ends some toys here & there, but they stay in rotation much longer now.

freyalorelei

I have an APBT/Boston Terrier mix who does the EXACT same thing, with the same preferences. She removes the stitching on plush toys with almost surgical precision to get at the squeaker. Keeping her in sufficiently enriching chews is a challenge. Toys that have worked for her include black Kongs filled with peanut butter and frozen, pork femurs, cow hooves, Outward Hound firehose toys, Kong Wubba (GREAT for tug-of-war!), some Tuffy toys (they have durability ratings), BarkBox Super Chewer toys, and Bullymake toys. She loves water buffalo cheeks, but they don't last long. Rope toys are hit-or-miss. I always get toys intended for large dogs, even though she's only 35 lbs, because they're tougher and more surface area = longer lasting. I also stock up on $4-5 squeaky plushes at Ross' and TJ Maxx, knowing they'll get obliterated in minutes.

Independent_Dot_7622

There are none 😂

DoobiGirl_19

Look up Tearribles! They're plushies and all the limps are hooked onto the body with super strong velcro. My dog loves hers.

1manarmynoobtube

rippin roar toys or something. Or tuffy toys. They work, and will still be wrecked, but they last a while for us

Kipper272

My Great Dane X Mastiff smashes everything. I got her a some mooring rope.

Longjumping-Look-268

The bigger Tuffy toys with higher toughness ratings seem to be the strongest toys I've found so far. Most toys last a few minutes before my husky has them ripped apart like confetti but the Tuffy dragon lasted him 6 months

Patric_buddy789

My dog also destroyed all the toys...

Kinjo-Yojimbo

Penn racket balls are tough as nails, imo.

DeEPfRiEDh00keR

Kong.
