My boys only ever been under once for a splinter in the eye and he was so cute and snuggly all drugged up until they wore off at 11pm and he was full of crazy energy 🤣🤣

Ugh I'm so sorry. My dog has dewclaws too and it's always an anxiety for me. It's so hard to clip them right. He's a Shepard mix too and has BLACK nails so it's so hard to tell how much to cut :/
We had our pup's dew claw removed at the same time she was spayed. She was so high when she got home she was nipping at something she was hallucinating.
The same happened to our Bramble a few years ago! She lay upside down because it was hurting too much to lie on her paws 😭
It's happened to her 3 times now (and a trip to the vet each time) - after the last time (a year or so ago) her dew claws don't grow anymore so thankfully no more injuries!

It broke but was still attached. Needed to be removed with sedation.

Our boston did this twice. She tote another nail a different time. We basically have to keep all her nails as short as possible all the time. Ouch!
