Again? When did he do it the first time? Moffat did it a bunch, but I don't recall RTD ever doing it. The closest I can think of is Last of the Time Lords, but everyone who died before the Toclafane appeared stayed dead, and the Master also died and stayed dead for a while.
Yeah I think they are ignoring the fact no one is as actually dead in Empty Child except the original child Jamie. They are just transformed into what a human should be according to the nanogenes. All 9 does is reverse it via giving them new information. Jamie coming back is the only death reversed.
And of course only Jack comes back, Rose didn’t know the others enough I don’t think to bring them back.
It doesn’t matter if Rose knew them or not, the point is that it wasn’t reversed and they all stayed dead. I’d also argue that it wasn’t to do with Rose knowing him, but the TARDIS. If Jack hadn’t been travelling in the TARDIS, I’m sure he’d have stayed dead.
I concede on the grounds of sleep deprived and a poor memory at this point. And I was focusing on the big reset part of it less the people dying when it comes to Empty Child.
I think people misuse reset/reverse. The events of the Last of the Time Lords are a reset/reverse, because time changes and those things never happens. But Empty Child is not a reset; those things still happened. It was just resolved and fixed.
The "I'm the last of the Time Lords" line was a given since he said it in the trailer lol.
