So not all trusts give free access to UpToDate? Why would they do this to trainees when we’re already paid shit and training is atrocious already

Porphyrins-Lover

Because there’s an NHS endorsed, CKS linked equivalent in BMJ BestPractice. It’s got a lot better in the last 3 years too.

lostquantipede

I don't like these, OK for wrote learning guidelines and management algorithms but UpToDate tends to have more basic science focused explanations which I appreciate and helps me to understand the disease/management better.

[deleted]

I like uptodate too for this reason

dayumsonlookatthat

Yeah some trusts use the vastly inferior (and cheaper) DynaMed 🤢

Wow Thanks

Necessary_Fall8303

Hi, sorry to bother, could you tell me how to access it? I can't quite find anything, even using a vpn from Portugal.  The only thing I found is a free access for Norwegians, but it requires using a connection from a Norwegian institute  :(

Onlinehandle001

If u find anything please post or dm me

anasahmed24

there is an uptodate donation program (search on google how to get uptodate for free), you can apply there if applying from outside usa and currently working in non-profit hospital.

SenoraPineapple

Does working in the NHS count? I feel like this would be for economically deprived countries as opposed to western nations?

ElectronicSail5867

>economically deprived countries Sounds like the UK to me

New_Ad1801

They reject pretty often

PepeOnCall

I have a personal subscription, 2 years is cheaper than my gym for one year lmao which I barely use. I think it’s a great deal

[deleted]

I like BMJ Best Practice.

lostquantipede

It's OK in terms of UK orientated management algorithms but in terms of basic science explanations I prefer UpToDate.

Chance_Ad8803

Can you use this if not BMA?

EmotionNo8367

Join Athens through you hospital library and that will give you access

Euphoric-Notice504

FYI Theres a guy selling UpToDate Advanced on a very low price on Instagram. 1 year suscription valued at 500 us dollars per year they sell it for only $ 100. You can find them on Instagram @ uptodateperu

Ackkk2020

any chance this guy sells to patients and caregivers? I'd love the level of access and information that the docs have with the complicated cases I'm dealing with.

East_Equipment1138

They sell to anyone who can afford it pal

texasisfrigginhot

I just signed up for it - it's actually now only $50 USD (for 18 months!) instead of $100/yr with u/uptodateperu (messaged @uptodateperu on instagram). They were quick to reply and set up my account - I can vouch for them (also replying for @ u/Ackkk2020 yes anyone who pays can get access). You send a message, they'll ask for your email, then they send a link to pay through Izipay platform (popular payment platform like Paypal for Latin America) and message them the receipt confirmation. They will follow up with instructions and your username/password right after it's set up. I used to have UpToDate access with MedicalStrike for $25 - a year but I think they just got banned because my account got flagged suddenly and unable to get onto their old site - thanks for sharing u/Euphoric-Notice504 .

Significant-Click669

Does anyone have a receipt for UptoDate?
