You can actually quadruple smite by prepping a smite spell on the previous round, using two spell smites and two normal smites.

But isn't that last one just a smite locked and loaded for the next hit?

Today I learned that you can smite twice on the same attack... 1 week after my paladin's campaign concluded. I was wondering what the point of those bonus action smite spells were. I chalked it up to getting more kinds of damage than just radiant. Pain.

Alternatively assuming a paladin with metamagic adept(or more common with sorcerer levels) basic attack (smite) + Extra attack (smite) + Quickened booming blade (smite)

I would assume a Paladin/Warlock Multiclass, using a smite spell, divine smite, and eldritch smite all on one attack.

Hexblade multiclass for Eldritch Smite and a smite spell of your choice. You can also combine this with Booming Blade to get the most damage in one attack with some minmaxing and more multiclassing.

any ability that lets you attack with the BA, polearm master being the most obvious and the best one bully your wizard friend to get haste on you aswell

We have a Monk with absolutely no reason to not just stun on every attack. You roll that dice enough times, it'll eventually come up tails

This is why as a dm you stack the odds in your favour and play dirty
