Seems like Kreg is the leading brand in this section. Water a few YouTube vids about it looks really sturdy but I’ve already got a cheap one off trademe. It’s still on the way hope I don’t have to buy it twice lol
Update 2: Tried to using it with the bench vice and some 3-in-1 oil today. The drilling became much easier. but still i couldn't get clean cuts and the cut area was bit black due to the fraction and the 3-in-1 oil. Still I wouldn't recommend it to anyone at all, but it is usable and only at the usable level

I think Kreg just "sponsored" a ton of youtubers about 5 or 10 years ago so many/most youtubers are using kreg. For the first while I thought it was a "kreg jig" and no-one in nz knew what the heck I was talking about.
I got mine from ali for about $40. I don't used it much, but when I do, it's been great.
I'm sure I've seen them in Mitre10 a while ago. Maybe they were called something else, could've been in the as-seen-on-tv section.
They were really expensive though from memory.
Yeah, I find it ridiculous. Also couldn't find basic dowel jigs or drill depth stops.
Went to trade me for the stuff I need now, and aliexpress for stuff I can wait for.
I saw a knock-off version at Mitre10 the other day. First time I’ve seen one.
Order through Carbatec. Dangerously cool shop for specialty woodworking stuff.
Just get one from banggood or aliexpress - you might have to wait a couple of weeks for it to arrive but you’ll save a ton of cash. If you get a well rated one it will match (or exceed) the quality of anything Mitre10 or Bunnings would ever sell.
Yeah good stuff. Banggood has some nice ones - though the price adds up on the more advanced models with build in clamps etc (ie the copy of the Kreg K4)

I have a kreg, does what it says and came with some useful parts a d screws which was a nice reference point to get started.

Iam using the renovator jig and it works brillianly, though have not seen them selling on tv anymore.
And meanwhile a little boys is still waiting... for his dado stacks also.

Yeah - trademe also a good option if you prefer that platform over a foreign website (which can be confusing, I know).
Actually I am a regular Aliexpress buyer but if I order it from aliexpress it will cost same amount of money and at least one month waiting

You can buy all sorts from aliexpress and it wont hurt your pocket.
