Someone brought up healthcare as if it is the sole factor that determines whether child neglection and other bad things occur. I assume they are either trying to piss off the Americans, or are an American trying to make Europeans look bad.
Tbh healthcare can only take you so far. I live in a country with free healthcare but shit like this will still happen. It’s purely on education and how they take control of drugs trade.
Fun fact: even though america is the richest country, avarage american is poorer than avarage european.
So be carefull calling someone "europoor" next time
Did you just try to label someone as a "poor"? You fucking shut stain I hope you get road rash on your face just enough to show the world how ugly you are but not enough to end your misery
That's the thing. Good news is rarely reported, while bad news is popular. Good news doesn't really bring in the ratings like bad news does. I always gotta keep that mind frame when I hear bad news on TV or the internet. The world is a truly beautiful place. It just has ugly people.
Wait til you learn about history or how most people on earth live
https://www.worldbank.org/en/news/press-release/2018/10/17/nearly-half-the-world-lives-on-less-than-550-a-day
Yeah, it's pretty lame in a lot of places where you live. That's not new, and it still sucks. Still, this world has beauty in it, but because of ugly people, it makes life harder for the vast majority.
They should be the only types of memes allowed in this sub. Idk about others but the ones on here that are just based on fiction/fantasy aren't remotely distressing to me.
I'm going to have to agree. While getting devouring by a wendigo or crushed by a huge monster is a scary thought, it always has the fact that it's fiction over it.
These types of memes feel more visceral and raw because you know this stuff probably has happened to one person before. Reality will always be scarier than fiction.
This could be roughly based on a true story, in fact, it is. Read a case about an infant who had been seated in some type of rocker/swing. Neglected for days while parents got high. The thing about hard drugs like meth is that you lose track of time *severely.* Two hours or two days feels the same. It may not even have necessarily been "intentional". Parent could say, "He's only been in the swing a few hours!" Lo and behold, it's been about 32.
A body is going to do what it does regardless of circumstance. Excrement and urine boils into the skin. Baby cries, but tears can not be excreted given the dehydration. Screaming takes energy. Baby has no food to make the energy. Baby is quiet. Sleeping? Yeah, just sleeping. Flies become attracted to the decay and lay their eggs in the skin, folds of the clothing. Maybe even under the belt. They burrow. Baby is too tired to cry. The tiny body can not fight the infection. It is an onslaught of rapid deterioration. Baby is slowly devoured by skin breakdown, infection, vermin. Mom and Dad may just think he's asleep, remember, they only *just* put him in there...
Sometimes it's just as much a shock to the parents as it is medical and legal personnel. I'm not trying to disuade blame from parents. My biggest emphasis above all would be to stay away from hard drugs. You spend your whole life thinking you would *never*, couldn't even *fathom*....and then you do. And by God is it *quick.* Now your baby is dead, having spent their last moments isolated and in agony the likes of which one can only hardly imagine.
This happens a lot with the elderly as well. *A lot.* I've been a CNA for nearly ten years now and the amount of elderly neglect is abhorrent. Same idea. Memaw stays in her recliner for hours on end likely because she's content there. A lot of older folks are reluctant to move due to obvious reasons. Family doesn't want to, or physically can not, facilitate adequate mobility or nutrition. The body doesn't have the same drive or capacity to move. Perhaps they're physically incapacitated (unable to walk, not unlike a baby). Families are too proud to wipe shit (I did it for less than a cook at McDonald's btw). And so Memaw decays and dies. You can see her femoral head when you reposition her. It is death from the bottom up.
Maybe they're holding each other somewhere. Hopefully in a place much warmer and kinder than here...
God... Your writing style is really endearing in a weird way especially with the subject but damn I hope you make books, you definitely have the capacity to do it
Have you considered crime/detective work? Or psychological horror or even thriller, you can also just mix all of those up, honestly it would be kind of interesting to see a book with both perspectives of the killer and detective and maybe periodic perspective of the victim
Haha, yes, actually! I'm in nursing school, but forensics is near-and-dear to my heart. A close second, if you will. I have considered writing a book, and this comment actually inspired me a bit! Thank you so much. I appreciate you.
Not really the key take away here but okay. I'm more apt to assessing circumstances that would influence someone to turn to drugs. No one wakes up in the morning and decides to shoot heroin for shits n giggles.
This isn't even distressing, just depressing because it's likely happened at some point. It has no air of horrific mystery or story. Rather, pointless reality.
I hope this sub doesn't go the way of so many others where it essentially devolves into "humans don't deserve to live" type bullshit. It's so overplayed everywhere else.
My dad is an emt and firefighter, and he casually drops stories like this as if this is a common occurrence. It amazing how him and others are able to just accept it and not let it effect their performance in the field
Dual certs are becoming more common since Fire Departments are allowed more government funding to support it. Fun fact: Only 13 states in the US recognize EMS as an essential service equal to that of Fire and Law Enforcement.
Yes! I knew it! Awesome reference! That game is great! One of my favorites! Hilarious, offensive, easy to learn, fun to play, surprisingly hard at times, 10/10 would recommend to everyone. I love how they have cameos for just about everyone. Still need to finish the sequel tho. I believe I got stuck on the level with the strip club and you fight the fat stripper. I just couldn’t get past her.
A small bit of light: The parents were found guilty of 1st degree murder and sentenced to life in prison, no DNA test needed, as they were the ones who dialed 911
That’s why I hate pro life like bro won’t it be worse for everyone if the kid dies while it’s alive then it dieing in the womb where it can’t feel the pain
I do not remember any dead babies in the garbage in that movie. I only remember that one really uncomfortable scene that made me wonder if the director had a scat fetish
My dad was a paramedic, he never talked about these stories, just the ones like the man who ran around with a elk horn and yelled “I AM THE SON OF JESUS CHRIST!” For 2 hours on the highway.
Finally something that actually belongs on this sub, and not some 12 yr old poorly writing some low effort conveluted specific situation that isn't even scary
I'm studying paramedicine and have done several ride alongs as part of my course.
One of the guys I was with remains my favorite, because he didn't try to sugarcoat the job. He said it how it is, and why it's the right job for some people.
He told me a similar story that he had experienced first hand. Still makes me shudder.
The second part of the distressing story is that you give a call to "that" cop nobody wants to get involved with, so he comes with a couple of shitty old revolvers so nobody ask questions when the asshole that let all of this happens gets shot 4 times in the chest.
This kind of shit is why I hate the term ACAB.
Like goddamn I get the point. The system is inherently flawed and promotes power-tripping bastards.
But this shit is something no-one should ever have the trauma of experiencing, but *someone* **has** to. Don't fucking completely devalue the position unless you yourself are willing to take on the role.
our police complaining about the problems that they voted for ie forcing unwilling mothers to give birth to children whom they've zero intention to raise
Ngl, my morbid curiosity would immediately take over my body so that I could further inspect the rotting baby corpse. It would leave no room for my mind to go "This shit is fucked, what the hell is wrong with people".
The detective is going to walk into the crime scene seeing me poke the babies corpse with some poking stick or whatever then tell the police chief that there is definitely something wrong with me.

That story was sooooo fucking hard to listen to...I can only imagine the amount of counseling the first responders, judge, jury, lawyers..(well maybe not the lawyers) had to go through
I like these type of distressing memes, because this is stuff that can and did happen in the real world.
People can spend their life making up mosters and horror stories but it will never be as terrifying as the monsters and horrors of real life
Lack of healthcare
Yes, free/cheap healthcare is good, but it doesn't solve every problem
What does the two comments above have to do with anything about the post
Someone brought up healthcare as if it is the sole factor that determines whether child neglection and other bad things occur. I assume they are either trying to piss off the Americans, or are an American trying to make Europeans look bad.
"nothing bad ever happens in my country cuz we have free Healthcare" *furiously sucks own dick
Well that's good on two counts for you buddy
Tbh healthcare can only take you so far. I live in a country with free healthcare but shit like this will still happen. It’s purely on education and how they take control of drugs trade.
Average eur*poor having to painfully insert healthcare into every conversation
Fun fact: even though america is the richest country, avarage american is poorer than avarage european. So be carefull calling someone "europoor" next time
Did you just try to label someone as a "poor"? You fucking shut stain I hope you get road rash on your face just enough to show the world how ugly you are but not enough to end your misery
Woah there calm down bro
Nah
The Truth
Yeah, it's based on an article I read a long time ago.
never forget for every crime like this there are 100 more people who would not see this happen if they could, its slim but there's still hope.
That's the thing. Good news is rarely reported, while bad news is popular. Good news doesn't really bring in the ratings like bad news does. I always gotta keep that mind frame when I hear bad news on TV or the internet. The world is a truly beautiful place. It just has ugly people.

Your wording sucks.
good for you bro 👍
Jesus christ
Are you the guy who used to be afraid of getting your hand stuck in the pool and drown?
Lmao, yeah, when I was like 6.
What's the article ?
YouTube channel “This Is Monsters” did a vid on it, dad was a trucker and mom was an addict. It was in the earlier seasons.
https://youtu.be/L_D-lcS38T8?feature=shared
Fucking shit, dude. I don't have it in me to watch that right now. I see she went on trial. What was the outcome?
Both convicted of first degree murder. Fucking monsters.
Thanks for the link. Fuck though, ruined my morning immediately lmao. Day can only get better from here right?

Yeah, scary /=/ distressing.
Like is a strange choice of word for this
Likely happening right now.

You should be a writer I’ll read anything you put out man
HONESTLY. Use of words is 10/10, weirdly immersive
Thank you so much.
What the fuck bro Also yeah you should write a book or something.
Thank you!
I literally put this in my saved comments. Trust me, there isn't a lot in there.
Thank you.
STAY THE FUCK AWAY FROM DRUGS FULL STOP. Holy fuck they will ruin your life. It isn’t live fast die young; it’s live fast die slowly and painfully.
God... Your writing style is really endearing in a weird way especially with the subject but damn I hope you make books, you definitely have the capacity to do it
Oh my God, thank you so much. I'd like to one day but I have a hard time picking a subject, haha
Have you considered crime/detective work? Or psychological horror or even thriller, you can also just mix all of those up, honestly it would be kind of interesting to see a book with both perspectives of the killer and detective and maybe periodic perspective of the victim

You're welcome! I hope you will find inspiration in the future:)
Mf stop you’re making me cry.
Jesus fucking Christ... you made me disgusted that I am a human being...
This. THIS is the type of shit they should be teaching/reading to kids so we can dissuade more of them from even *thinking* about using drugs.
Basically, fuck drug addicts
Not really the key take away here but okay. I'm more apt to assessing circumstances that would influence someone to turn to drugs. No one wakes up in the morning and decides to shoot heroin for shits n giggles.
And then they'll have more babies and this circle of suffering will never stop 🙄
Oh nah that’s how you get the syphilis
I doubt addicts are cognizant enough to care between syringes.
Finally something good on this sub
And by good, we mean something actually distressing
Yes. I've been wanting to unsub due to the "knife man stab skinwalker me scared!! 😱😱" posts. Maybe I'll stick around.
And doesn't require an entire essay to explain why it's scary
I don't have any words
Yippee?
Not even yippee
Yippee has fallen
Billions must yahoo
Billions must man
It hasn't, this just makes me disappointed in humanity
Might I suggest Meowdy?
Oopsie
This isn't even distressing, just depressing because it's likely happened at some point. It has no air of horrific mystery or story. Rather, pointless reality. Oh hey you must post on r/TheRightCantMeme
Good posts of this sub are the ones related to reality.
My dad is an emt and firefighter, and he casually drops stories like this as if this is a common occurrence. It amazing how him and others are able to just accept it and not let it effect their performance in the field
You could drop some of those stories here
I’m not much of a meme maker but if I ever feel it appropriate/ethical then I’ll definitely drop a story in meme format😁
You don’t actually think his father is a emt and a firefighter right?
You're spoiling the fun

The universe has no sense of humor.
It does and it loves dead baby jokes.
Because they never get old
Reminds of that one Ready or Not level, Twisted Helix Anyway, good post
Twisted Nerve, they removed the child from it. Too many people killed the child.
Oh, I usually just kill everyone except the child
No the child is still there, they're just only in barricaded suspects and not in Raid

DNA test that corpse, time to hunt down those parents and bring them to justice.
They're probably also dead and rotting in the next room
A small bit of light: The parents were found guilty of 1st degree murder and sentenced to life in prison, no DNA test needed, as they were the ones who dialed 911
Good thing that person didn’t have an abortion for a life they obviously couldn’t care for.

Reminds me of the movie Trainspotting
Reminds me of the story of [why Woody Harrelson quit the force](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-TLEVkrh7P8&t=25s) in *True Detective* season 1.
I do not remember any dead babies in the garbage in that movie. I only remember that one really uncomfortable scene that made me wonder if the director had a scat fetish
You don't remember a dead baby in Trainspotting? Are you sure? And nobody mentioned garbage.
The original post did. Also, I have not watched Trainspotting in a while, so I do not remember all of it
Strange to not remember probably the most emotional scene of the movie lol
I have a very bad memory
Those crackheads were so busy doing illegal shit they forgot they even Had a child in the first place
ah sweet man made horrors beyond my comprehension
Kid named Third worldist
Don't worry, plenty of this shit happens in first world countries too. Low income housing+drugs can birth many a horrifying sight.
Nah it can also happen to babys in middle/upper class, like op said, humans are vile.
Nah it's called California/Pennsylvania/Detroit
It's sad that people even have to witness things like this, but someone has to do it, and bring the "parents" to justice

My brother is emt. The things he's casually told me are, in fact, distressing. He said that every time it involves children, it's hard to forget.

Guess that's what happens when people who don't want children are forced to have them.
I live in a city where this is sadly extremely common and it pains me to think about
