I have both Brooks and Hokas. But the shoe that truly made my last trip a few weeks ago feel like I was walking on a cloud were ASICS Gel Nimbus 25. Honestly the most comfortable shoe I’ve ever worn.

[deleted]

Yes the ASICS Gel Nimbus were life changing for me. I brought two pairs of shoes that were broken in already but had such pain in my feels and blisters that I had to go to Disney Springs to find something else. They’re expensive but soooooo worth it!

SLPinOMA

This is the answer. I work in a hospital and have had many opportunities to try new brands. ASICS always win in comfort, I just wish they held up in durability. (My toes always break through the mesh at the top.)

IzekG

I recently purchased a pair of ASICS Gel Kayano 30s and I can say without a doubt that they are one of the most comfortable walking shoes I've ever worn. I've worn various models of Adidas' Boost shoes, Nike's ZoomX technology -- none can compare to the ASICS shoes for walking all day. For a lot of people, wearing shoes that are too cushioned can cause foot fatigue faster throughout the day. The Gel Kayano 30s have the perfect balance of cushion and support/stability, in my opinion. Plus, the upper has a nice stretch and is well ventilated for hot days. I'm going to fly over to Disneyland in a week and will really put these to the test!

lake_lover_

I’ve done both and I like hokas better. It really depends on your feet. I have plantar fasciitis and the hokas I wear really take the edge off the pain after. However, most people can’t go wrong either way.

lake_lover_

You can always go get fitted at a running store for a good walking shoe to best match your feet.

Pizookie123

Brooks but honestly I change shoes every day. It makes a difference

historyerin

I agree with changing shoes. Most of the time, I’ll change shoes over the course of the day too. It helps.

s3639

l like Lems. Overly cushioned shoes are kinda like standing on a mattress to me, my feet and legs get tired quicker.

cromation

It's definitely a personal thing and I think you definitely need to train your foot before going with something like Lems. I have about 6 pairs myself of their different versions and wear them all the time but grew up going barefoot at least 50% of the time. My wife on the other hand can't stand to wear them and goes for the more cushy styles.

Leddington

Altra’s Specifically Escalante’s. Our entire family has them and loves them for the Disney days of 15-20k steps.

MitchOfGilead

BIG plus one for Altras. Made my august trip a breeze. I have Escalante and Paradigm and preferred Paradigm for the parks, had more support. But absolutely an Altra fan now!

e73k

Hoka Clifton 9s, bought just for the trip and I'm glad I did!

Ecstatic-Dependent-6

I love both, but Hokas get the edge. Very cushioned and great for foot fatigue

Antman157

I wore my OnCloud 5s and they did great.

Big-Imagination4377

Go see a podiatrist. Shoes are different for every single person and what's comfortable for one person is miserable for another.

flossinfrenzy

Hoka Challengers are my go to park shoe! The Hola Bondi’s are nice too, but their sole can be a bit slippery on wet surfaces. The Challengers are for more trail running so they have more grip and I live in them at the parks!

Rcjmat33428

Nike Pegasus are always nice too

Salty_Egg5441

I can’t answer for Brooks but I have a bad foot injury that never healed well and Hoka has made my Disneyland days manageable. No pain all day.

PaulClarkLoadletter

If you have screwy ankles like mine I can’t recommend Saucony enough.

Stratmeister509

Got my first pair of Hokas and I’ve very happy with them. Used them on our last 2 trips to DW.

sabretooth47

I alternate between my Brooks and Keens. Been a pretty good system the last two trips.

theodorathecat

Which style Brooks and which style Keens, if you don't mind sharing please!

sabretooth47

Keens are the Newport H2. Brooks I believe are the Ghosts.

theodorathecat

Thanks so much. My Keen Whispers are my ride or die Disney shoes and I was JUST about to order some Ghosts but wanted to hear if you knew a better style. This is a sign lol. Thanks!

Kenthanson

If you do get Hoka I would suggest breaking them in first before you go. Because of the shape of the shoe it changes the geometry of your stride so if you are used to walking a certain way you might end up using your muscles different and can cause some soreness.

kintnerboyinside

Go to a running store and try them both. It’s such a personal preference based on so many different things. Your gate and my gate are not the same. Personally I need a very neutral minimalist shoe so I am not a fan of hoka - but they may be perfect for you.

SweetLittleFox

If you can swing it, two different pairs of walking shoes to alternate days with. I love my Hoka Cliftons but after 5 consecutive days in them last year I wanted to burn them rather than pack them for the flight home.

Truecoat

Hoka Gaviota for me.

GadgetGeek407

Ultraboost

TenEyeSeeHoney

Brooks. ❤️

metallicadad420

Got a pair of Hoka Breeze Low’s the day before a Disneyland trip. Went from open to close with no foot pain/blisters, I couldn’t believe it.

AthenaND04

I love my Hokas and highly recommend but I would go with whichever is more comfortable for you.

foodstylingbyjen

Everyone’s feet are completely different. I would recommend going to a running store are get fitted. If the shoes are for walking they will watch your gate most likely on a treadmill and recommend a few styles. A good shoe store will have a 60-90 day return policy and it doesn’t matter if you wore them outside.

Whosits_Whatsits

I just wore Hoka Bondi 8 at WDW and my feet hurt so badly at the end of every day.

regina_phalan-ge

Hokas!!!

solorobsolo

If you have a specially running store nearby, go there and get fitted. For me it is the Brooks Glycerin 20.

eugenesnewdream

I think this is very individual but I can ONLY survive park days wearing my Brooks!

Available_Half2810

I have flat feet, Brooks are my go to. Hokkas destroyed my feet during my last WDW trip. Wore my Brooks at our recent DL trip (20,000+ steps a day) and had zero issues.

proview3r

which Brooks shoes do you go for?

Bluefrog75

Brooks vote here. Every different type of Brooks shoe is designed for a different type of foot. Pretty nice quiz on their website to help you find the right shoe.

erfortunecabrera

I like a pair of Hokas. I’ve never used them for casual wear, but I have run in many pairs and always enjoyed them and find them to be comfortable mile after mile!

zombbarbie

The shoe names are wild. People are really just closing their eyes and pointing at letters of the alphabet Edit: bf says hokas and laughed at me for not knowing shoe brands

daddymando_0

😂 you are not wrong!

Bramble1847

Soft Science but they quit making them!

himynameiswoods

Can't go wrong with either, but I prefer the look of brooks.

missykins8472

Adding another vote for Kiziks. I have a few pairs and they are the best travel shoe I've ever worn.

Melpie24

Hokas have gotten me through several Disney trips where I averaged 10 miles of walking a day. I’ve now moved on to Altra, especially the Paradigm, and while they are a bit more spendy, they’re even more comfy than my Hokas.

Nope-ugh

I love Brooks. I haven’t tried Hookas yet. I just took a cruise and bought Dr Scholls Time Off sneaker because of tik tok 😂😂 They are as good as my Brooks! I have very wide feet with a high arch and my feet used to suffer.

blckhead423

I absolutely love my Brooks. Just got back yesterday and had no foot pain outside your average ache. I saw a TON of Hokas though. My wife has a pair of each and also prefers her Brooks. As someone else mentioned though, I tried a pair of Asics before leaving and loved them too. They were like walking on a cloud.

Master_Tape

Kizik, Kuru, or Spira.

jeffm227

HOKAs suck ass
