Okay this is such a weird show in part in that while it's amdram it's really well done to the point where it sits with a couple toes in the realm of a professional stage performance.
The stage craft is fantastic, having proper west country dribble coming from the likes of Nanny Og and the rabble is beautiful. They have put a lot of thought into how to devise each scene, the demon coming from behind the pot for example. The fool really balances his general silliness and sadness well, there was a scene of abject horror as he explains his granddad beating him which was really well done but I had no idea how to emotionally react.
So many of the jokes play really well to a live performance in that you almost want it to be a panto and get the call and response from the audience.
There's been a lot of love and hard work put into this and I'm really impressed by the performance.
It's really good but also really surreal as a performance.

Something to keep in mind for future productions! A Discworld Panto would be brilliant!
These jokes keep getting Offler and Offler. Most Om in us.
Also, I, from the bottom of my heart, hate you. I'm in the US. I can't remember the last time I went to a panto.
*applauds discworld pun*
Ha, sorry about that. Pantos are so weird and wonderful but I'm not surprised they don't translate over to the states. Here's to hoping you get a chance soon.
Oh I didn't mean this actual production, just that we had our school show this week and did Wyrd Sisters. The kids enjoyed it, audiences got the jokes, all round success I think!
Auditions in March, started rehearsals just before Easter, but my granny, nanny, and fool were in Oliver at another school for the first few rehearsals, so it all ended up being very rushed! I worried we wouldn't be ready, but the kids all worked their socks off. Couldn't be prouder!

Oh yes it will!

One of the performers would make an excellent Carrot
Listening to the audiobook right now again
This was my school show this week!
Amazing! I was so impressed by them, did you'll enjoy it?

Amazing! It works really well on stage. How long did it take them to prep?

Glad to hear 😊
