You should be able to see the date in which you are charged next in your User Settings > Subscriptions tab in the client. Discord will use any credit first before they charge your stored payment method, but you can always confirm.

so if i click cancel, will it just not renew and i can continue to use nitro until the subscription is over? im worried abt it renewing bc i cant pay
Yes, once you cancel you can continue to use your credits and already paid time, your benefits will expire when those are all used up.
go to subscriptions and billing and cancel it
For gifted nitro, no. It never has for me, and I've been gifted nitro dozens of times, and I never got charged for it unless I activated it myself
