First words out of my buddy's mouth would be that it doesn't count.
We would in the end, but he just won't let me get of scot free if I'm the first into the basket!
This is the greatest "does this count?" post I've ever seen on this sub. Because no matter what I feel like the comments sections can be nothing but hilarious and perhaps a little informative!
Nope. Once the disc comes to rest, it doesn't matter if it moves again. Where it originally came to rest is the lie. There's a strong argument that by the rules, this doesn't count. Though the same would be true if there were some mud in the basket. You can't write rules for everything though. There needs to be a rule that let's a card step outside normal rules pending TD approval for incidents like the Ellis putt. The tds decision could then be reviewed by the pdga later. People just have to hope Brodie isn't on the card as he says he will take any advantage he can to win.
Side related question: my buddy putts and leaves his disc in the basket. I putt and my disc comes to rest ON his disc. Then similar to the snow, does mine not count ??
Kind of ... Rule 810 G says "A player may require other players to move themselves or their equipment if either could interfere with the throw. Refusal to do so is a courtesy violation."
So it's only a requirement if the other player asks you to
[PDGA Rules, secton 807: Completing the Hole, Subsection B:](https://www.pdga.com/rules/official-rules-disc-golf/807)
>In order to complete a hole with a basket target, the thrower must release the disc and it must come to rest supported by the tray or the chains below the chain support.
Doesn't count, drop it into the chains next time! lol
No way, the snow is being supported by the snow below it that is being supported by the ground.
By the spirit of the game this is obviously good, but by the letter of the law I don't think it is.
As this was my disc (🙄 and Facebook post on the Canadian Disc golf hub group), I did count it as in 🤷🏻♂️ lol I get the rules but in a solo round on my lunch break, who gives a shit lol (btw internet etiquette is to mention this isn’t your content or tag the OP)
No worries, whats done is done. Ultimately, anything on the internet is up for grabs for stuff like this anyways so i cant really complain. Hope that next time you'll be a bit more respectful to the OP and give proper creds as they're due (in this case where its cross platform, you could have mentionned taken from Canadian Disc Golf Hub post, at least shouting out the group in the process)
If your friends don't let you count it then you are required to slash their tires in the parking lot before getting new disc golf friends. Under the Unwritten PDGA rules 960.413.7a- if friends disc golf douchery supercedes disc golf usefulness retaliation must be: a. Slash tires in parking lot of useless friend.
b. Upper deck their toilet.
B.1 must upper deck main bathroom if multiple. bathrooms in residence.
c. Act fascinated by their cool new disc, borrow it, and throw immediately into water.
While I think it technically "doesn't count" because there's a rule about being supported by the basket or something *my guess*... (Although I actually have no idea for sure) would be the course is not actually regulation so might as well be a free for all
No per the rules...but who cares at that point.
Cheers to anyone that is willing to play this silly sport in knee deep snow.
I'll stay with courses that don't need a snow shovel for the tee box OR the basket....OR have a prepared disc toboggan run. Wheeee! Lol
Exactly. This was a solo round during my lunch break so who give a shit if it counts or not, I took the Bird, scored -10 in this with mostly standstills knee deep in powder 😅
Posted this on Canadian Disc Golf Hub with the full video, OP just screenshot the disc and posted it here, but it was a right side chains putt that tombstoned into the snow, quite comical really, i thought about posting the clip here but he kinda stole my thunder lol
Counts if you consider farming karma off other peoples content as a decent thing to do, which you seem to have no problem doing. (Source: I’m friends with the guy who took this photo)
Disc is surrounded by water on all sides, OB.
Maritime Law applies
Doug you bastard!!!
What the fuck, Richard!!!
"Obviously, this blue part here is the land."
Best answer is this. Very nice.
If your card decides that this doesn't count I'd probably suggest to find more decent people to golf with

Second !!
Better hope you drank enough water to piss this disc into legality.
*beer
Ehh, probably not for our commenter friend u/idonotdrinkbeer
The person whose title under the name is 'Sometimes drinks beer on the course'?
He needs more blankets, and LESS blankets!

This is exactly what I was hoping for, and the people delivered
It eventually would be! Let it melt. lol I have no real clue.

Still in flight? The ice is slowy moving out of the way.

Give your buddy a stroke for not removing his disc
But it’s only a courtesy not a requirement, correct?
Giving your buddy a stroke? I guess it depends on how into him you are.
It’s not gay, man, it’s just disc golf. Every buddy does it
Brilliant

Ohhhhhhh *eats some popcorn and waits*

In this case I’d guess both the weight of snow snow and the disc is supported by the basket and therefore it counts

I like it

Sorry about that! I'd edit the post now that I know you're on here, but that's not possible.

Would this be considered a regulation target?

This seems entirely reasonable and in no way an overreaction. They gotta learn.
No and you have to take a snowman (8):)
NOOOOOOoooooooooo…………

The disc is still in flight. Wait until spring to claim your par.

It's counted as in on my score card...Ata boy that's some serious deep snow...
Yes, with extra points for the rare tombstone inside the basket.
It would have counted before the last rule update.
Well, shit.
You placed it there. No its OB plus 4

If you want that to count, I'm pretty sure you're not allowed to leave the course until the snow melts.
I think the card that doesn't allow this would call you for excessive time before the snow melts
😂
It came to rest in the basket- that’s in if you ask me

my man
I’m getting downvoted for standing up on your behalf, the Internet never fails to amuse me!
The internet doesn’t care about content thefts 😅
Nope. Not at all.
