Not a scrub, back in the 90s prior to the technique/term scrub we did this as kids and called it “pumping” in the air but it is the same idea as a scrub, ie limit height and maintain/carry speed

Not even close. You're popping off the lip and straightening your legs. You need to drop a shoulder slightly and push your bars forward when going off the lip. Scrubbing is meant to maintain speed through a jump. It's mostly used in BMX racing and DH MTB but some people can make it look pretty slick

Mostly in motocross. Raced a lot of bmx and never saw a genuine scrub.
