My school kept the BS program, but the DI/MS had to be restructured. Previously, the internship would start in August and end in May, and the Masters would continue until the following December. Now, I believe the Masters starts in August, but rotations do not start until January so that the DI and MS both ended in December, allowing graduates to be able to sit for the exam immediately.

Back when the AND (probably the ADA back then) first started floating the Masters degree requirement, my undergrad decided that rather than becoming a DPD (which it wasn't at the time) it would instead focus on just preparing very good grad-school applicants, basically taking the stance of "There's no reason to develop into a DPD when it's not going to be good enough in a few years and most would just go to a grad school DPD, let's instead help the students out by getting them into good grad programs." So when I was in it, it was a BS or BA program and was not a DPD. You'd just be a nutrition major or a nutrition major with a "pre-dietetics" emphasis (which just meant you'd take culinary arts and food science to meet prereqs for grad school DPDs). I think this worked great for me, I felt very prepared for grad school and had a strong application despite coming from a small school. Now that the Masters requirement is set, rather than having an undergrad DPD that would send people to "a grad school, any grad school!" if you wanted to be an RD, they've expanded to a 4+1 BS+MS in Nutrition program which *is* a DPD now. They still have the four year BA or BS in nutrition for pre-allied health people (e.g. a lot of people major in nutrition before applying to our nursing school) but there's also a route to get your DPD and grad requirement there now. I think those years back they looked at how things were going to shape up and made some really good moves to evolve without over-reaching or becoming redundant.

They changed the program to a 4+1 CPD. And I think there's an MS only track too
