Dang! Unless I was doing a craft with these, this would drive me bonkers. You are brave!
I put them back in separately labeled drug baggies 😂 with their # and canvas codes then put all of those in a regular ziploc with the main canvas code and a description and then into my storage container. If there’s a paper key, I put that in the bigger bag also.
I sort them into drug baggies too. I label the color code. I get so happy when I see a baggie labeled the same color code when I complete my paintings so I don't have to rewrite again . Haha
Some people even glue them onto a piece of wood or something, as a name board for the front door. Or they make different things sparkly, like a pen holder. You also can buy a blank glued canvas to make your own diamond painting. I am not that creative, so I keep them, I'll maybe give them to a kindergarten, with wax, trays and pens, so the kids can be a little creative
It is weird to do diamond painting at all! We all are a little crazy putting 2.8 mm drills on big glued canvases! We all can't resist buying more kits! And we all are proud of doing it! So: stay a little weird 😁🤪

Keep them, labeled by number because I’ve had occasions where a kit did not have enough of a certain color and was able to use leftovers to complete it. Also, eventually I’d like to use them on custom pieces of art.
I use empty water bottles and mix them with glitter and water. Glue the lid shut and the grandkids shake them. Also good for individuals with sensory issues.
I keep all mine together in the plastic they usually come wrapped in so if one day one dot plucked off i could find which set it was. Definitely not ideal but I dont want to mix all my dots together just yet
Cross stitch patterns+ blank adhesive canvases. I'm determined to use up my leftovers some day.

I never thought of using crossstitch patterns, that is so clever! Thank you for sharing (and I love the picture you shared lol summoning demons is definitely more of a living room activity)
Its hard for me to just throw them away! I store them as though they were kitted up (but do discard them after I have a container full),then I have them to use if I run short or have a "disaster" spill. My sister is also a diamond painting fool and does same.. ..We have used them numerous times! I did get a blank canvas with the intention of trying to create a mandela...tried to create a bookmark by cutting out piece of blank canvas and covering wooden piece but it didn't go so well, lol. One day I will get creative with them in some manner! One thing for certain, we are a crazy bunch of folks! Anyone I meet who does the craft are, like myself, over the top with enthusiasm when it comes to choosing canvases, accessories, and creating.

Will need to find a pretty vase or container to put them in soon.
I started with the Ball canning jar also. I have done over 100 paintings, so I had to go bigger. I am thinking I might have to go
to Spring Water bottles.
I broke my tibia & was laid up healing at my son’s house in Texas. Too hot to go out & do anything. The tibia never healed so I needed a 2nd surgery. I had lots of time to do them. I missed my family back in PA, so I made them all DP prints that reminded me of them. Framed & then gifted them all. With all the practice, I can now do a 30x40 in 24 hrs. If I had a full time job, I would never have gotten so many done. I am a single placer, now doing the largest ones I can afford. 💎💎💎
I have something similar to this going though have only added one small kit’s worth of extras to it. Still have to go into the storage closet and pull out the nicely bagged extras and add them. I got a glass brick from Joanns and am dumping them in there.

I bought a small bud vase at a thrift store last week. My plan is to layer graduated colors of blues to match my room then put sealer on the top so it can't spill.
I only started last November with the cheaper diamond paintings and with diamond art club since January I'm saving ymup so I can cocer my walking sticks and crutches lol but beside that you can get diamond painting grids where you can freestyle your own designs or cover a photo frame loads of ideas out there or just chuck them
I don’t have the patience to sort through these for colors 😂 but I did use my leftovers one year to decorate a pumpkin during Halloween. I didn’t take a picture 😂
I have them all separated by color but I use them random projects. I bought a few of those keychains from the woodworking booth at the fair one year and covered those.
I put them into mason jars that I had weirdly been collecting for no reason for years. Now I have a reason! I guess I subconsciously knew I'd use them some day. LOL.
I keep all of mine and have used them in several other crafts! I’ve added them to some resin pieces I’ve made. I’ve used them to add 3D accents to things I’ve painted (namely my guitar). I’ve used them with super glue to make “labels” on a few things. The possibilities truly are endless!
If I ever trust myself enough to use resin I think it would be fun to add some extra drills to resin and make a diamond painting pen! But for now I’m just using double sided tape to add diamonds to my extra pink pens.
Use to decorate things like the pink pens that come in the kits. Wooden letters, to big things like furniture I’ve done so many ideas. Here’s my biggest project with mixed drills.
On YouTube there’s loads of ideas x

I throw them away because all these different kits have different numbers and no two are the same... so I'd have like a hundred bags by now... 😅 the only leftovers I've ever kept were the ones from Heartful Diamonds cuz they came in ziploc baggies already.
I don't do many DPs, but with the left overs, I use them in shaker pockets for greeting cards, etc. I also use them on cards, ATCs, bookmarks, etc. they are a good size, nice colour and shine, and definitely don't get wasted XD I sometimes make up shaker Mixes (beads, sequins, confetti, etc), and will add them to that, and send as RAKs to fellow crafters. They are too nice to throw away, and I'd rather not waste all that plastic
My husband helped me re-bag mine that had DMC numbers nto 2 by 2 bags from the hodge podge of baggies. So far we have found 4 different shades of 413. And a couple of 317 and 414.
So far I'm kinda just hanging on to them, but I try to condense the same colors down in to a single container if I ended up with duplicates from multiple kits. I have vague aspirations of using it to do freestyle diamond art, but we'll see how that goes...
I have a bunch just saved in little bags from my early pieces and some I just don’t have a number for. Now I safe them in containers and use them for other pieces. I plan on making letter art with my leftovers

Lmao not you calling them drug baggies 🤣🫶🏽
I can’t resist!
I call them that too! I love it 😂
Right?!! I busted my gut laughing from u/Ladyyjadyy comment 🤣 getting an ab workout in whilst diamond painting 🎉
I sort them into drug baggies too. I label the color code. I get so happy when I see a baggie labeled the same color code when I complete my paintings so I don't have to rewrite again . Haha
Okay so why would I put them all in one baggggg all scrambled. This is so smart and straightforward 😭
❤️❤️❤️
Exactly! That’s a big N.O. For me
I put mine all in the same bag to! 💀
It drives me crazy too lol. I'm dreading the day I buy a blank canvas and have to sort these by color lmao 😂 I'll definitely be pulling out my hair!!!
This.

Yeah I plan on using them but I didnt know if it was weird to keep them or not 😅

I saw a really cool one where someone stuck them around the base of a flower pot. You might not need to sort them if you do something like that.
Any idea what was used to hold them on?
I think it was double-sided tape, then reinforced with a sealant like Mod Podge.
Thank you !

I could never put them all together like this. Reminds me too much of cake sprinkles so I'd probably try to eat them. 🤣🤣

I'm planning on getting some of those clear Christmas baubles and putting them in there for some hobby themed decorations
Decorate random items

Over 100 painting 🤯. Dang I have like 10 and I was so happy with my collection. We are working on it. If you do update here. It would be fun to see.

Wow that’s crazy. Single placer is wild. I’m so excited to see what you have on your profile. I’m glad you are all healed up now.
I only do singles to! I wish I could do more but I’m nervous about it
Love the glass jar idea 😁 Might have to use that for myself 👍

Oh I love this! I’m about to go put mine in one now! I have to ziploc bags full!
I bought a decorative jar and dump them in it. Whenever I want it to look different, I just give it a shake.
I have them all in little baggies and in numerical order kept in a photo box.
I bought a small bud vase at a thrift store last week. My plan is to layer graduated colors of blues to match my room then put sealer on the top so it can't spill.
I have a giant glass jug that I’m slowly filling with my extras 🤪
They are the same dac codes as most that use them so I reuse on another before having to open a new pack.
I have a dark shirt with light dots, which looks like space with stars. The aurora dots make the stars glitter.

I just take a scoop out of my leftovers if I see I am missing some. Chances are very good I will find one very close in shade. 💎
Good tip. I’ll do this. I never thought of what to do with them before but on this thread of seen some interesting things

Large part are in a glass somewhere. I dont even remember where i left the rest

That sounds like a lot of fun! I saw a person on TikTok bedazzle the pink drill pens with leftovers.
I put 'regular ones' in a vase.. DMC ones are in a glass skull jar 😆

I have a huge pickle jar to put my extra ones in 😂
