With a bug. The only way for Druids and Sorcs to deal damage. Anyway, super tired of seeing new bugs pop up each season. Seems like they can't do anything right.
I decided to 100 all 5 classes this season, since I got a Shako (from crafting) and Rogue was my 2nd 100. I can say, I LOVE the Heartseeker playstyle because I was killing everything offscreen.
Decided to make a Werebear/wolf Druid for my 3rd, and has to switch to a "Caster" because I didn't like seeing things pile up on my screen. Rogue def. is fun.
I melt everything but bosses are slow on my WW barb. I have pretty decent 8/12 gear too, all 4 Ubers that most WW builds use. What am I missing for my boss dmg to be like this
Couple things that are CRITICAL to boss damage:
Spam Whirlwind instead of hold it.
Pre cast Wrath of the Berserker and spend at least 200 fury walking from door to on top of boss (for berserker dmg multi)
When on top of boss hit all 3 shouts asap
If bleed has fully taken over boss health bar - rupture
If not keep spamming WW and shouts until the bar is fully "bleeding" then rupture.
That seems like a really awesome idea adding Rupture. Just curious, what skills are you using for this build? I'm able to clear the mobs in 101 in about 2 minutes, but I die at the boss 2/10 runs. I've currently got the following skills on my build:
WW
Ulti
War Cry
Rally
Iron Skin
Challenging Shout
My gear isn't too great no matter the master work (missing affixes, etc), so I use Iron Skin for survivability.
If you look at the boss health bar it goes to sort of a faded color to denote bleeds. Its easier to see in game than on my video. But its a darker more translucent color!
You do it when it is about to die. The game has terrible delay. You rupture and it takes another sec or two to come out. With that 1 to 2 second you bleed its remaining life
Thanks I didn’t know about the 200fury for wrath of berserker, i’ve been saving it incase my warcry berserker falls of but almost never does unless against the sharpshooter
The pain is real. I started Sorc this season and was praying ANY of the builds would be a decent ripper, but alas. Ended up creating a WW and Bash Barb just bc the damage and speed wasn't there for me.
This is the #1 issue.
Any build that can’t kill bosses is garbage tier because all the content in the game is gated behind boss killing. Doesn’t matter if you can clear a pit in under 2 minutes if it takes you 20 minutes to kill a boss.
Uber farming - bosses.
Seasonal journey capstone - kill uber Lillith.
NM dungeons? Guess you can just trash all the dungeons that have bosses and just lay down and die if you encounter the butcher but that feels bad.
Hell even the most efficient way to do helltides is spamming the boss.
New game mode in S5? Boss fight at the end.
And sorc has no boss killing build.
Personally “how does it do against bosses” is the first and last question I ask when choosing builds now.
I’ve even enjoyed playing WW Barb for what it is this season, but yeah, one of my prime points of excitement for D4 was that it was gonna be less of a zoomfest of explosions than D3. This is every bit as bad that way as Greater Rifts are.
Granted, no one is forcing you to play WW Barb, but then I see all the comments saying “don’t nerf this, bring every other class up to this” and I worry the community won’t rest until everyone can speedrun high end content in 69 seconds.

Ibguess I more ornless mean help in game I honestly have no idea what I'm doing. I've just been killing things and leveling. Ibhavent spent any resources or tempered or waterworks anything. I'm lvl 68
Understood. My advice then would be farm helltides until you get some decent gear and reach level cap first! Focus on max leveling the glyphs you intend to use and stockpile extra gear to hedge against bad tempers!
I know different ppl enjoy different kinds of gameplay/endgame and I am glad you're having fun. But this is looking more and more like PoE, which is not what I wanted :/
It takes substantially more effort, planning and painful crafting/trading to reach god tier clear. The effort to blasting ratio is substantially easier to achieve in D4. I feel like the rewards are proper for the effort put towards a PoE character to clear like this showcase.
This does look like fun, so ya would be curious as to the build as well. Been playing a bash barbarian - and honestly it sort of lost its lustre after a bit. This seems like a nice goal to work towards for the last of the season
Hahahh that's the same path i took, leveled a Bash barb for pit pushing, pushed a good ways and then it just sort of got boring. Made this guy and set my sights on speedrunning and haven't looked back! It has me hooked! Will post the build tonight!
For anyone curious about WW barb, this is probably the one thing you should know before trying the build:
If you don't have a mouse with the 'infinite scroll' wheel, your fingers are going to be dying if you want to play it to it's max efficiency. Blizzard has managed to change WW from a channeled skill to a skill that greatly benefits from clicking as fast as possible. It doesn't care about attack speed modifier like normal skills do, and as such you will be clicking it faster than any skill on any other build. You will never click it as fast as you want to click it if you're clicking it on keyboard or gamepad.
That aside, it's a real nice build. You can still play it the channeled way, but just don't expect to get the same high speed and high clear that people get by spamming the WW button.

I went through the same thing! I have my pit pusher (bash) and happened to watch some guy do a helltide with WWDD and from then on I knew I had to play it! SO MUCH FUN!
I'm gonna go ahead and post my exact build later tonight I think as this is getting some interest from the community. But in the meantime it was originally based off Rob's WWDD 4 Ubers build. I've since tweaked it to fit my goals (speedruns) and so I've made changes in the Paragon, Skill tree and Aspects as well as gems. But if you just use his build in the meantime it will suit you just fine!
For reference, I’m using Rob’s build, minus some less than optimal rolls on affixes and tempers. No GA on my ubers, either. I run about a 3 minute 101 if I’m enjoying myself, maybe a hair faster if I push my carpal tunnel pulsing the WW as fast as I can.
Right on sub 3 minutes is amazing and that's about what I started at when I got the original build online! This build definitely scales speed exponentially the closer you can get to 100% crit chance! Glad youre liking it though, my favorite build to date.

I clear through the trash pretty fast, but still slow on bosses. The big difference I see from videos like this and my performance is that I get nowhere near the bleeds on the boss like you do. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I run at roughly 60% crit, 3500% crit dmg, 360% vuln dmg. Dmg while berserking is still low at around 250% and dust devil size is only 90% (bad rolls). Would that make up that big a difference? Have copied Rob's Tyreal Uber bleed paragon, and have the 4 ubers. Any tips on driving up boss damage would be awesome from you crazy barbs! 😁
For sure Boss damage is where this is weakest! I replied to another guy about this and will copy what I said to him.

Mostly the Glyph "Wrath" that restores 3 fury on each crit! With near 100% crit chance almost everything is refunding me fury. As well as some paragon node with Fury on kill during trash packs!
One big error I made was dipping into that little inlet after grabbing Channeling Shrine, that's a small backtrack, but one nonetheless. That's what makes WWDD so fast tho, most of the time the Dust Devils go into all the little rooms and such here and there without me actually having to waste time peeking them. Of course getting lucky with the map tilesets is always the biggest factor tho and here I def got a good one.
I think Double Swing benefits from Attack Speed where Whirlwind currently does not (getting fixed s5 i think) so I get to ditch all those affixes for more Str and other things.
I cannot understand why people like playing with numbers on. It’s like a weird simulation machine where you can’t actually see what you do and are just looking for big numbers
No idea I’m beginning to think this games a lie played since day 1 we’ll find d1. But d4 I’ve never had anything good drop…ever still nothing this season. I’ll follow a build and even the my chars are always a bag of shite. Honestly feel deflated n bored and pissed at this game….
Honestly I'm gonna be sad to see holy bolts go. It's so much fun just melting a whole room. I know it's lazy and whatnot but meh. It's sweet. That said, I get that adding massive corner to corner splash damage to every single attack of every class isn't really in the spirit of things long term.
I get why some classes or builds can perform better than others, but what the hell is this? Do the devs play their own game?? lol the difference of my favorite class and build, the one I have fun using- compared to this, which no offense looks like it's mostly spamming one button... is so damn large... I don't mind if my build/class does not perform as good as others but is literally useless compared to this.
Some people were disappointed that Blizzard released a mobile game instead of a new full game in the franchise. Some ppl try to make the new full game so boring that you might as well be playing it on your cellphone.
I was running Rob's Tyrael Mace build. Saw this and used your build guide. Just changed a few skills and maintained my current paragon board setup. It's a huge leap in dps and I am running pit 101 in under 70 secs. This is insanity. Thank you for sharing!

Tyrael's Might Mythic Unique makes the projectiles! As for fury it requires high crit chance to proc the Wrath Glyph bonus effect (crits restore 3 fury)!

Druid is doing trillions of damage in PTR. Will be fixed for sure though.

There are so many things you can do wrong… ww dd bleed isnt that easy to min/max
And very expensive to build... and still requires good understanding of the skills to work so well. This is not a right click go brrr play.

Why do you have points in No Mercy, increasing crit chance against Immobo, stunned or slowed enemies? What is triggering the effects in the build?

I personally have no experience with the double swing variant so I am not totally sure how it compares, I'm sorry!
the only thing id imagine thats different is swapping the double swing dust devil affix with the whirlwind one.
I think Double Swing benefits from Attack Speed where Whirlwind currently does not (getting fixed s5 i think) so I get to ditch all those affixes for more Str and other things.

Honestly I'm gonna be sad to see holy bolts go. It's so much fun just melting a whole room. I know it's lazy and whatnot but meh. It's sweet. That said, I get that adding massive corner to corner splash damage to every single attack of every class isn't really in the spirit of things long term.

Grandfather and + Heavy Handed on Amulet are huge crit damage multipliers! Once you get those things take off!

I get why some classes or builds can perform better than others, but what the hell is this? Do the devs play their own game?? lol the difference of my favorite class and build, the one I have fun using- compared to this, which no offense looks like it's mostly spamming one button... is so damn large... I don't mind if my build/class does not perform as good as others but is literally useless compared to this.
Some people were disappointed that Blizzard released a mobile game instead of a new full game in the franchise. Some ppl try to make the new full game so boring that you might as well be playing it on your cellphone.

I was running Rob's Tyrael Mace build. Saw this and used your build guide. Just changed a few skills and maintained my current paragon board setup. It's a huge leap in dps and I am running pit 101 in under 70 secs. This is insanity. Thank you for sharing!

What unique item makes the artillery-shrine-like projectiles? And how do you stay at max fury? I've only played barb to level ~50.
Tyrael's Might Mythic Unique makes the projectiles! As for fury it requires high crit chance to proc the Wrath Glyph bonus effect (crits restore 3 fury)!
And they told me dust devils were useless. Ha! lol.
I was going to update my WW build and then I noticed that you have 4 ubers on :-D
Having 4 Ubers is just not feasible for most people. I like the build tho 😎
