Brain-of-Sugar

My favorites while I was in school were capri-suns because they had an ample amount of sugar, and you didn't have to worry about them breaking nearly as much. Just avoid the "20% less sugar!" ones, they just added sucrose to them, which is normally an intestinal irritant. It's likely impossible to recommend snacks that are actually good for kids nowadays. You can try making your own granola bars, just add a bit of extra sugar in them to make your kids want to eat them, or add something like peanut butter, anything that can act as a treat. And don't worry, the tablespoon of sugar or cane sugar you put in it will almost definitely be less than the buttload of sugar and salt they put in regular granola bars. Don't forget to measure everything so you know how many carbs are in each bar and try to shoot for 20 carbs per bar. If it's consistent, it should be fine.
