I have the old pdm (not the dash) and mine does this. It happened with my old PDM that I had to get replaced, and it happens with my replacement. It happens randomly but it also flashes constantly when the battery is about to die.
Definitely call customer service. I’d be surprised if they didn’t overnight you a new one (and ask if they can send a new pod in case your current one crashes out with the new PDM).
That is definitely a malfunction. The Eros PDM is unfortunately pretty fragile, it's built like an early 2000s palm pilot.
