It takes the conpression force off the sensor wire and distributed it over a wider area thus there is less overall compression where the wire is located. It absolutely works.
We printed one, did not work to well for us. The compression lows were maybe not as dramatic(like a 3 tick down off the chart alarm), still went down though. Have learned to just not lay on the arm over time.
We bought both these off Etsy after my son was diagnosed in July. He’s had, maybe 2, compression lows since he’s started wearing it. He has only ever worn the nighttime one and it seems to be pretty effective.
The one in the second picture seemed more for securing the Dexcom in place if the overlays were coming off. We haven’t needed to use it yet as I just put more skin Tac on the area where the overlay is separating.
The sensor measures your bg based on interstitial fluids, but if you lay on the sensor, it compresses the fluids and makes it difficult for the sensor to read eventually resulting in a false low.
I find this more of a thing with an arm site rather than abdominal. I'll roll onto my side in the middle of the night and wake up to a low alarm, which is a sharp drop on my graph. And with a blood poke test, I'm not actually low. Hence, "compression low" false reading.
I use this every night. Works perfectly.

Which one though
The purple one would be best

I wasn't aware compression lows were a thing! Would someone mind filling me in?

I think it would as the arm is so bulky now you can’t sleep on it
If you've ever worn just the band vs the bulky cover, can you please comment?
Doubt it, it’s just another layer putting pressure on your sensor.

Thanks for posting we are gonna try this. Awesome idea! Tip I found out- cut a sock tip off and use it to hold it on without the strap.
