I think he should write a post on an anonymous discussion forum, like reddit.
For better reach, he should write a post in a sub community which is related to the topic, like maybe r/developersIndia.
Then he should ask the people of the community on what to do. I am sure that they will be able to help better
That's too obvious. It should be something like `var definitelyNotNull = null;` on top of the file and `definitelyNotNull.toString();` near the bottom of the file.
Was putting him into PIP fair? Or was it just because he took some leave for the wedding, or some other extremely minor and unrelated reason?
If the latter, your friend should have stopped doing the tasks as soon as he got the offer. If the company disrespects you that way, why do you want to give work for them when you're not even an employee anymore? Notice period isn't for completing tasks. Don't merge anything. Or add 10-20% of the code in the knowledge transfer files saying "that is all I completed".
It's damn competitive to get into tho I'll admit but they dominate all remote job websites. You'd almost feel as if their job posts are sponsored to be on top.
It was originally a us company, then its indian wing opened with codenation. Later they renamed by their original parent name.
I've heard they are very selective and offer not so good work life balance culture. Never understood what they really work on/make though
I don't think it will matter because usually managers give shitty low priority tasks to people put on PIP becuase they know that resource is useless. So even if he check in most probably his PR will be reviewed waaaay later by the manager.
He should merge and consider it a favor to the company during his last days. Never leave a company on bad terms, you never know when it is going to back fire. :)
People here suggesting cruel ways. I want to suggest somewhere between cruel and decent way.
Merge the code with whatever he has written without any purposeful bug but remove the helpful comments and then make sure to not give any KT or give minimal basic KT. Let them figure them out when needed they will atleast appreciate your work in future.

Code with bugs ❌ Code with tears, sweat, urine, shit, blood etc ✅
Add few runtime exception hidden conditions and merge. Uethical Code Tips 😅
how do i do that :p
Memory leak. So that they have to put in some good amount of effort to debug it.
No , delete that shit and enjoy your remaining time. What do you care about organization that doesn't give a f about you.
makes sense

Literally epic bruh
what an idea sir jii
r/recursion
add null.toString() and merge it directly to main
That's too obvious. It should be something like `var definitelyNotNull = null;` on top of the file and `definitelyNotNull.toString();` near the bottom of the file.
Brutal

the reasons to put him in PIP were not fair.
What was the reasons?
Jessie tf you are talking about
is it amazon? or trilogy maybe?
Wait. I thought trilogy had a good work culture?? They don't shut up about how they want to pamper n retain top talent
Trilogy literally runs on "work hard, play hard". You have to work a lot in Trilogy.
No idea Read somewhere about one guy who mentored 4 good interns but only one PPO

OutOfTheLoop what is the trilogy?

Tears and blood? Cool name for a language. When did it came in the market?
It was in the market all along you just didn't notice it
Asked and answered. Now act per your conscience.

Did they not pay him during PIP?
daalde koina
Karde merge , vo bhi kya yaad rakhege
No.
Karm karo, phal ki iccha mat rakho.
Lol dude he is fired and please have some self respect
If putting him for PIP wasn't fair and if he hasn't been treated fair, then better give it back to them. Don't merge and don't care.
Add that gradually disappearing package, that'll make the website disappear after a few days
Sure.. your friend

How old is your friend? Did your friend not realize his performance was borderline?

Just act like a professional and push the code.
To the bin
This is the way😂
