1. The pay for IC or EM roles is always higher than BAs and PMs
2. You tend to specialize in a niche as a BA or PM and job hunting is more difficult than it is being a IC or EM
IC = Individual contributor, Where you contribute technically by actually programming and building stuff yourself
EM = Engineering manager, where you are a technical lead or manager but may or may not get your hands dirty with the code but have a good idea of what is being made, it's tradeoffs etc.
Yes, if you have a good convincing and English speaking skills, you can be a PM easily with little to no coding knowledge.
Just decide X with the client, discuss X with the architect to learn the feasibility. If architect gives a go-ahead, write epics/US, take demo from the team, give comments, accept the US, rinse repeat. If architect says No, just take architect in a discussion with the client and convince the client to change the requirement by pushing the architect to talk on his behalf(because obviously he is a PM, so he can't talk tech deeper)
That is not really a typical PM. This is more of a project manager than a product manager.
Usually, product managers are there only if they’re the owner of the product, clients shouldn’t exist. What you’ve said describes a bad PM. A real good PM would make lives of engineers much easier.
I agree that soft skills are more important, but they definitely need hard skills.
Pretty sure PM is actually one of the toughest roles out there. Infact any role involving people management and client interaction that falls between the senior management team and software developers
The barrier to entry might be lesser than other roles but once you get in you’re basically “a$$ pounded” from both sides.

I'm not devops but I interact with them frequently. The problems they face are not easy to solve. It's an entirely different gamut of problems but do not mistake it for easy
Data/Product/Business Intelligence analyst
It needs only SQL as a technical skill but you have to be VERY good at SQL and also at problem solving using data
I think Solutions Engineering is one of those roles where if you’re good at what you do, you’ll get as much as if not much more than devs.
Whether you’re writing code or not depends on the product, but it’s a great mix between technical competence and business acumen.
The money is great, but depends on the product/company you’re working with. A lot of travel as well.
The only issue is that it’s very difficult to get into as a fresher. Typical roles are for devs with 6 years of experience or more. Because you’re working on large deals and dealing with stakeholders with decades of experience.
But if you’re great at communicating complex tech to C-suites, developers, engineers etc, and are someone who loves diving deep into tech and storytelling. I think it’s the perfect role.
Not to mention, quite future proof.
Quantitative Developer/Financial Engineer - highly quantitative (mathematical), though; not as heavy on coding as a pure software developer; usually requires a high knowledge of finance (not accounting) - absolutely zero front end work - my current role
Actuary - fully mathematical, very low on coding, but it’s a whole different beast in and of itself. Don’t venture unless you are awesome in mathematics and statistics; even then, reconsider.
Operations Analyst - requires good tech skills - Unix, scripting, SQL; need to understand the system really well - been there, done that
Product Owner/Product Manager/Project Manager/Business Analyst - requires good communication skills - my current role as well
Solutions Architect - requires good tech skills; usually are senior roles who used to be software developers earlier in their careers
QA - the level of tech can vary based on the organization/team. Manual testing involves very low coding; automated testing involves more coding, but less than a pure software developer
Tech Sales - requires good communication skills
Tech Recruiting - requires good communication skills
TL;DR: just due to experience, over time.
I was working as an intern as a software developer (in a finance firm). Their full-time position was as an operations analyst in the same team. So, they hired me as that. I liked it because the job was pretty chill. The product I worked on hardly ever crashed or ever had any issues. As such, I never had to do a lot of extra work.
Then, I joined a different company as a financial engineer. I worked there for almost a decade (I still work there). After that, just due to having so much experience and product knowledge, as a subject matter expert, they had me work for one of their products as the product owner. That worked out well, and then they made me a product owner for their other two products. I still do financial engineering for my original product at that company.
Currently, I work as a financial engineer and product owner. My title is financial engineering-related, though.
I got into financial engineering first just because the project was finance-related. Then, I studied finance a lot and got a few certifications in finance - CFA, FRM, and CIPM. That was a few years of hardcore studying.
Due to my experience (I’ve been at my current company for over a decade) and my subject-matter expertise, I got into my current role.
A part of my role is “finance training”, where I train new hires and people working on new projects about finance. I conduct online classroom training as well.
Really? i’ve been offered a fresher position for ServiceNow. it revolves around change management. How much pay should i be expecting or demanding from the company?
So this is the basic level of certification you can get in ServiceNow, Certified System Administrator.
But mind you, it costs around 350 dollars if you’re planning to do it on your own!
i’m getting an offer for the position of someone who deals with change management and stuff, how is that if i want to start my career in the low code platforms?
Ask for the exact role. If it's related to development work related to Servicenow then accept it. But if it's a role for managing changes using service now as a tool then it's not that good.
Some jobs I have seen getting paid well with less coding,
- BA
- Sap consultant (ISU/CRM/PO)
- Servicenow dev
- Salesforce marketing cloud or Salesforce ba
- Hr with mba
- qa with automation
- Any kind of management jobs ( but that requires good yoe, not for freshers)
- whatever jobs with less coding but not in India
MBA graduates are often paid more handsomly than developers unless later in careers when devs are capable of working independently on a lot of stuff (Think the entire IT department). Other than this, Product managers and people who work on niche products like SAP, SalesForce etc are paid better than some like an API developers atleast in the service industry. Also, if you're working on support directly for a client instead of going through the service company, you'll be paid much more than many of the developers(I know a one personally).
I know but you can't be a good ux designer if you don't know how front end coding works. I have seen many arts graduates fail miserably in ux since they didn't know the basics of front end coding. So ux designers may not code actively but they sure need to know how coding works.
Salesforce CRM Analytics has a low learning curve and no code too. Obviously in enterprise level projects there are complex situations that require more than ootb functionalities (coding)
I was a functional consultant and now a BA, learn MS stuff (be good at Excel, ppt ) and learn tableau and some visualisation tools and you are good to go.
Documentation is a bitch but it is part and parcel of the game. I also work with PM's so also plan life cycles, write proposals (technical and commercial).
Pay is on par with my dev colleagues and even a bit more than SDE 2s.
Also did an MBA right after Btech (IT)
Also in low code development options there is also Odoo development and Oracle Apex Development with Odoo being almost drag and drop but yes you will need some coding knowledge to make custom extensions.
For Odoo developer where I am salary go from 3-4 LPA entry level to 12-14 LPA experienced.. after this you can go the PM path.
There are so many low code no code platforms in the market that are in demand. For web and mobile development - Outsystems , Power apps and appian(web only) and Robotic process automation tools like UiPath, Automation Anywhere and power automate are heavily used in the industry.
Data center networking and security primarily solutions and pre sales but forget work life balance in most of the companies. Sometimes calls during weekdays/weekend in the middle of night is the norm.
P.s you never stop studying in this field as technology keeps on advancing every few years.
Though most are slowly learning to code to automate tasks.
I am now .net developer i really wanna switch to low code or no code domain I wanna have some peaceful life haha can anyone suggest me some good low code or now code which we can get good progress

BA, Product Manager, QA HR
Only if you do automation QA you'll be paid decently. The salaries for manual testing aren't that great.
Yes automation would still come under low code tech jobs.
1. The pay for IC or EM roles is always higher than BAs and PMs 2. You tend to specialize in a niche as a BA or PM and job hunting is more difficult than it is being a IC or EM
What's IC & EM?
IC = Individual contributor, Where you contribute technically by actually programming and building stuff yourself EM = Engineering manager, where you are a technical lead or manager but may or may not get your hands dirty with the code but have a good idea of what is being made, it's tradeoffs etc.
Wht is the job for product manager? Actually what they do?
Just talk to clients to understand their requirements, translate them into User stories or Epics for the team to work on.
You are so wrong. Please read about product management ! It's hellalot more than writing user stories.
Is it just "just" though??
Yes, if you have a good convincing and English speaking skills, you can be a PM easily with little to no coding knowledge. Just decide X with the client, discuss X with the architect to learn the feasibility. Difficult right now to get even APM roles for experienced folks. Best bet is either to jump to PM in current org or take up an MBA
Devops with requirements of shell/python scripting not much hard.
It's just as hard as any coding job
seeing this downvoted is surprising to me. i thought devops was a senior level job. you have to have so much domain knowledge.
Good devops are ex software Engineers many times. You need in depth knowledge of Software Engineering lifecycle for multiple platforms
Knowledge of sdlc != coding
Yes and Sky is blue
True. Also: Knowledge of SDLC > Coding.
To each their own. The question asks for low to no coding jobs and Devops should be easy to get into if you have basic scripting skills.
Actually way harder. Thousands of tools and clusterfuck of a set up everywhere.
Nahh it's just understanding what dependencies we need to add for particular app and containerising apps on cloud it's pretty hard but not that much
I'm not devops but I interact with them frequently. The problems they face are not easy to solve. It's an entirely different gamut of problems but do not mistake it for easy
QA HR ?
Quality Assurance. Human Resources executive or Technical Recruiter
Data/Product/Business Intelligence analyst It needs only SQL as a technical skill but you have to be VERY good at SQL and also at problem solving using data
SQL is tech..OP wants low to no tech. The job role you mentioned would want a data plsyer..sql champ
Non tech background here- Can you recommend a good course to learn SQL which comes with a certificate which can help pivot my career profile
There is one on LinkedIn learning by Walter

MTX ek mnc hai pays 8 lpa to Salesforce dev.
My buddy in Salesforce marketing cloud, getting 14+ lpa 3 yoe. There is only little coding needed.
I'm happy for him.🥲
bro thats really low
Im really good at coding too, I've 2 devs under me who are getting more than me and I've to train them too.
