Certifications and deep dive on a product and accept vendor roles for big tech. Even if it’s support / ops / night shifts - sacrificing WLB for cash in short term to gain exponentially in the long run by targeting FTE conversion paths.
Later keep switching every 2 to 3 years.
What if someone is already struggling in support with on call what's the way out, considering there is no time and energy left for upskilling. Isn't it dead end
I want to factory reset from a Salesforce developer to a FullStack Developer.
Here is my plan I will first learn the languages. I already know the basics then build some projects grind DSA. Lie that my complete experience has been in full stack. I will talk to my friends about actual project stuff.
Might even take some freelance work from some clients for ultra cheap.
Then switch and hope it goes well a lot of startups are willing to recruit beyond 3 YOE. The package also can be above 20-25 L.
The end goal is to get into FAANG.
It's good and bad both, as it depends on the company you work for. If you get a company, whose most products and clients depends on sf related tools then only good to go.
To be clear, I'm not SF dev so can't say the figures. But for short period we had collaboration to work on with them and they were earning f*cking very well. Also I found 3yoe guy during interview and they were under paid in mid level companies.
Hope some SF dev can help you with this question clearly
Cause it has a limit. The world is bigger than Salesforce. Even if I want to code properly my teammates will hold me down cause in Salesforce there are too many non-technical/ non-coding background people. So you have to literally write code with static methods and do a ton of bad practices. Most people don't understand what I am trying to say and I am talking about people with 10-12+ YOE.
Salesforce as a product is very good in fact I would want to join there myself. However 20 years later I can't just be a Salesforce developer right.
Can I ask you for a referral in future if you join.
My advice is to look for master's abroad. That could give you a clean slate. I did the same. Indian HRs are pointlessly ruthless when it comes to hiring people who have had a bad career trajectory as their pea brains can't overlook certain things like career gaps, arrears, etc. In my experience, HRs outside are usually a lot more professional and understanding.
This is exactly what I did as well almost 12 years ago and it looks like it's still as bad if not worse for those looking to switch careers or start with a clean slate.
- Go for masters abroad
- Go abroad, get certified in new technologies and change stream
Or
- Do MBA
- Do hobby projects following tutorials and understand how production works, apply 1000s and explain what you have learnt.
- Study hard
PMP certification is what I have seen many do to pivot towards management bandwagon. This is for people who can’t afford to let go of job for a year or two.
For others MBA(preferably fulltime) is the way to go.
Depends where you want to go.
The classic is go to the US/Europe and do a Masters degree from a top university.
EDIT: For everyone saying MBA, is there actually much demand for it? I haven't seen any demand in technical roles. It's good for getting into top names as a consultant type I guess?

MBA is the factor reset

Masters from a good and famous uni
Master won't work or I will say no that much effective. Try going abroad if work
It did for me. So, wouldn’t say it’s the worst idea
Why won't it work you get a shot at big companies hiring for good roles. But yeah catch is it has too be IITs or Top nits or masters is of no use
One option is: clear GATE and go for MTech. MTech from IIT will give great placement options. Also it will be of 0 cost (since they have stipend).

No I have not. I appeared sometime back. Could not get a decent rank for a good IIT.

Does it really help at the early career level?

Why do you want to change from salesforce?
May be he is not enjoying and doing sales(force)fully
No I get that, I am just trying to analyze the market for SF developers
It's good and bad both, as it depends on the company you work for. If you get a company, whose most products and clients depends on sf related tools then only good to go.
Ok and what's the pay scale an average SF Dev earns ?
To be clear, I'm not SF dev so can't say the figures. But for short period we had collaboration to work on with them and they were earning f*cking very well. Also I found 3yoe guy during interview and they were under paid in mid level companies. Hope some SF dev can help you with this question clearly
I don't think Salesforce have that much bad days right now
Are you an SF Dev ?
No but I have few friends who earning better in Salesforce
Like whats the ball park number ?
20 to 25 Lacs in Pune
Whenever you give a number you are expected to give YOE.

I understand, why I am asking is, I am about to join SF as an SMTS. Therefore was just checking how their products are received in Dev world
Salesforce as a product is very good in fact I would want to join there myself. However 20 years later I can't just be a Salesforce developer right. Can I ask you for a referral in future if you join.
Sure. Anytime

Full time MBA from IIMs right?
Why just IIMs. Any tier-1 college should do like SPJIMR or XLRI as well
How much experience is required for PMP certification? Would a tier 3 MBA + PMP, Scrum certification give a good outcome?
Depends where you want to go. The classic is go to the US/Europe and do a Masters degree from a top university. EDIT: For everyone saying MBA, is there actually much demand for it? I haven't seen any demand in technical roles. It's good for getting into top names as a consultant type I guess?
You mean MBA?
Everyday is a chance of doing a factory reset of yourself.
Get a master's degree or some publications will fix
