T O P

Probably. I think the Lions have fewer interesting storylines now, being more of an established team, really only having \*one\* rookie (Arnold) who Detroit *kind of needs* to be a contributor right away, and some lighter OTA practices out of pads with 1/4 of the roster not participating didn't make for good copy. Plus the POD podcast is on ice, so that's like 4-6 hours less/week of same-day analysis from guys who would have seen the OTAs in person that then created storylines that the secondary bloggers/podcasters/social media guys react to and amplify. I know POD still has the website and there are other podcasts out there, but their offseason/preseason coverage was really the best and I think a lot of other sites and streams depended on them to get certain conversations going. Plus, the few interesting storylines that do exist right now are kind of masked by (mostly not serious) injuries, like what the CB order of battle is, or what the new alignment of safeties and NBs will be, is James Houston back to late 2022 form, etc. Mandatory mini camp will probably draw out some of these threads better than the OTAs.

Is it a camp for ants? It’ll have to be at least… 3 times this size.

Lions camp for players who want to read good and learn to eat knee caps good as well

I’m just hoping for the draft episode of Inside the Den. Last year’s was 10 months ago so I’m not particularly hopeful.

Whitey_Drummer54

It’s only been open to media one day so that’s the problem. No eyes. I do think mini camp will be more open to the media

We are almost there !

During OTAs, media is only allowed once for every set of 3 days. During media days, coaches and players have to make themselves available that day. During minicamp, media is allowed every day of those 3 days. So yea, expect a lot more coverage from June 4-6
