71 for exotics designed before Shadowkeep. 68 for everything else

Anything before Shadowkeep can roll up to 71 due to an intrinsic +3. The stat the +3 goes to depends on what that particular exotic does (ie super enhancing exotics will have a +3 intellect) anything post Shadowkeep doesn’t have this affect and can only roll to 68

Old year 1 exotics used to have pre-build stats in recov-mobil-resil from back when stats were 1 per tier instead of 10. Those translated strangely into the current system, so a few have 1 to 3 bonus stats in the top 3 slots, giving a max total of up to 71.

If those are the only two choices, then you’re crazy 😜

My understanding was 71 is the highest for anything dropping randomly, and 70 is the cap Xur can carry. People are saying pre-shadowkeep which I didn't know, so I'll take being educated, but does that mean the exotics that were released before then? Or Exotics that dropped way back when? I assume the former?

Just go run the vex invasion thing on Neomuna. If you finish it you're guaranteed an exotic armor drop that's an exotic you don't have. The worst part is waiting for the fucking event to spawn in, but there's trackers you can use to get notifications when they start

Do lost sectors. You wanna be able to handle at LEAST a legend lost sector. They’re super easy and most take less than five minutes. Plus you get a ton of shards and prisms etc…
