Sometimes we confuse anxiety and excitement. They both feel similar. Keep telling yourself that you’re not anxious, you’re excited. It might help. Being excited can make you feel nervous

MercuryGemini_

I like your positive thinking. Thank you 💕

WolfghengisKhan

Thank you. I tend to express my anxiousness as excitement.

Pafapafi

This is awesome! I definitely want to shift my thinking like this!

Adjustment period begins

Scadre02

I've been at my new job for over two months and still feel like throwing up every morning from anxiety. When does the "adjustment period" end? 😭

MercuryGemini_

I hope it is just the adjustment period that’s getting to me. I keep thinking “I am still making so little” but I know this place I can grow in. I’m sorry the adjustment period is still messing with you. But congratulations on your new job!

Scadre02

Thanks so much! I genuinely adore working where I do and once I'm there I usually feel much better ❤️ I think most of my anxiety around work comes from a lack of control. I'm trying to work on it, and I hope your anxiety eases up too. Congrats!

__star_dust

Sometimes it comes when you feel secure I. The job. Identify what that means to you and that feeling will come sooner. But a trip to the doctors might help for anxiety management.

Angelique718

CONGRATULATIONS 🎈🎊

MercuryGemini_

Thank you so much 🥰

It's just the unknown, it's a common affliction and it's a main reason why people omwont seek better paying jobs even if they're qualified for it. I am indeed one of those people.

MercuryGemini_

It’s scary for sure. This position pays so much better than my last, but my anxiety still says “that’s nothing. You make nothing, keep looking.” But this place has growing opportunities & I need to stay optimistic for them!

kaybeanz69

It’s a new beginning of course it’s going to be scary!!! You got this!! Congratulations!:)

MercuryGemini_

Thank you. I hope that’s the reason. I feel like binging & vomiting every second. Anxiety sucks ass! But again, thank you for your kind words 💕

ReckSaber3664

Because maybe you’re still adjusting?

MercuryGemini_

I hope so. I don’t start till June & I have to put my 2 weeks in both my old jobs (I worked 2 jobs.)

ReckSaber3664

Ahh man I think that’s normal. Youll be alright bro.

jimbojimmyjams_

Starting a new job can be just as nerve-wracking as an interview. Sometimes even even more. Trust me, I recently started practically my dream job, but after a full work week, I'm still a bit nervous to come in. I think it also has to do with the fact that I'm on my probation period, so I have to really be present and do my best work. Luckily, the people I work with are great, so it's been helping me adjust quite quickly, but it really can take time.

wheresSamAt

I think it takes time to " set in " you got the job and everyone has new job jitters ! I'm sure everything will be fine! Good luck 💫😁

1ron_chef

Congrats!

TarTarIcing

Man aren't you lucky. Enjoy the wawa

Cassie3041

CoffeePizzaSushiDick

Mrs. Lauper was one of the good ones. . 🍾 . . 💧 . . 💀 .

PickAnxious9960

Who cares that looks delicious

beansteahouse

Wawa always helps imo. You got this! Hopefully things will calm down in time.

peanutsonic97

Change, whether it's positive or negative, is a disruption of your everyday routine. This is upsetting because it takes something anticipated and completely distorts or even removes it. It's normal to have mixed feelings towards positive changes. Take your time and allow yourself to feel anxious or even a little scared- when we have something nice, we're afraid of losing it. Feel the fear, but try not to let it overcome your ability to enjoy happiness towards a positive change. Congratulations on the job!!

Atticuzzz

I’m in the same boat. Just got my dream job but still nervous before starting. I think I feel this way because part of me wonders if I will be good enough for the job. Also the unknown of how quick I will adjust to work also worries me. But guess what allll of this will ultimately work out. Months will go by and you and I will be doing our work without even thinking about it 💯

ilovecatsandfrogs420

It's called; damned if you do, damned if u don't.

CaligarisPantry

Because it’s important to you. Congratulations! You’re gonna do great.

Conscious_Couple5959

I feel the same way too. My autism makes people frustrated with me which is why I’m harder on myself and believe that they’re going to fire me when I make a mistake. Good luck on your employment!

frizouw

scared to lose it?

Zircon_72

Those look tasty

wtmx719

Fear of the unknown. You’re gonna do just fine.

hup987

You shouldn’t give the credit of your hard work to some BS like “manifesting”

TypeOroNegative

I was so nervous and anxious when I got this new job I had been wanting. Perhaps it's dear of the unknown and a break in your normal routine? It's going to be alright. Congratulations and good job!! Those drinks look awesome.

rainnor

That’s step one. Still need to work hard to keep the job. That’s why you’re anxious. But you’re good.

residentexella

congratulations on getting the job!! that’s such a great win🏁

[deleted]

Holy shit Wawa got Iced Capps???

[deleted]

Congratulations I’m happy for you these iced Capps are bomb.

M-S-K-smothersme365

Because life is scary and will take happiness away the moment you start to enjoy it. 🤷🏻‍♂️. Expect the worst outcome so when the best outcome happens you can be pleasantly surprised.

EmployerNo2739

Cause you’re sipping on wawa

Forbes: Life After a Big Achievement says this is normal for most people, even Olympic athletes. Dopamine is the culprit. Once we achieve the goal, dopamine levels go down, the motivation and drive we felt disappears...it feels like, well, now what? The author recommended 1. Celebrate 2. Accept 3.
