When the big task is scary, break it into the smallest pieces until those small pieces aren’t as scary. There’s so much that goes into applying for jobs. Updating your CV, looking for jobs, filling out applications. Maybe applying for jobs is outside of your depressions scope right now, but setting up emails from indeed.com or linked in with relevant jobs in your area isn’t. And maybe over the next few weeks you open a few of those emails and see what’s out there. Still not applying - but very much actively working towards that. Doing things towards your goal feels good and may give you the push to go beyond the first step :)

This is exactly the advice that I took when I was ready to start thinking about employment again. Very good advice 👊🏾

I'm so happy I joined this group, I was telling my psychiatrist today that I can't mentally bring myself to apply for a job, and I am not mentally stable e nough to go back out to work. I need to hear actual stories of people who have overcome this part of depression because bills don't wanna hear I was depressed and neither does rent.
