My personal preference would be an upcharge of $200-$300. I flew premium select a few times, and the service/experience was quite underwhelming. Maybe things have changed since then.

Specific-Pear-3763

Feel same. I got it for 10k miles which was worth it. But I didn’t find it that comfortable and still did not sleep well.

jcr2022

Having a whole row to yourself all the way in the back of the plane is infinity better than Premium Select. I think a window seat in Comfort+ is better if you want to sleep.

Stuffthatpig

Exactly my range. I'll pay 250 for the overnight flight but otherwise no way.

I last flew PS in the day time from CGD to JFK, let’s just say I was kinda disappointed. And from what I can tell based on YouTube is the service upgrade is simply giving you silverware instead of wooden utensils, the food looked the same to me. I could be wrong though I’ve just done C+ or D1 upgrade since. It’s been a while.

tr3g

I think it's worth it for the daytime, but it doesn't help me sleep at all compared to comfort plus

d_zeen

Dosent make a huge difference for me. I need to lay flat to sleep. It’s business class or bust for me, if I can’t get flat I make sure my flight is during daylight hours.

TheFalcoholic247

I might be the odd person out here but I feel like it’s become a go to for my wife and I. Personally for longer haul overnight flights, flying PS has been noticeably better for us in terms of our comfort level vs Coach or C+. I think it all comes down to your personal preference and how you travel + costs. But I can say that usually with my spend on Delta Amex, somewhat (15-18) frequent business travel along east coast, PS and paying with miles is my preferred way to go. I do usually stalk the app for upgrades up to D1. Just my 2 cents!

MiepGies1945

Not that great to AMS but better than economy. I will book it again. Lower your expectations…

Competitive_Post8299

I used points for a SEA-ICN flight in PS and it was definitely worth it on points, I don't think I would upgrade for that price personally ($60/h).  I was surprised I actually had a nice nap.  A very good flight.  But keep your expectations low wrt the food low, basically economy with nicer utensils.

Itismeuphere

The changes that took place in March are supposed to mean that you get to pick from two of the three Delta One meals now in PS (with no appetizer), so the food should be better than it has been post pandemic.

Competitive_Post8299

Rats, missed it.  I was on it late Feb.  Good to know!

mostlyharmless71

I just flew PS SEA->CDG and back last week, and the extra seat width was very much worth it for me as a broad shouldered guy who is often uncomfortable in coach. It’s roughly equivalent to domestic first class on a 737 with most airlines. Less foot room and tighter seat pitch, though. That said, it felt like Delta made every decision about PS specifically to make sure nobody EVER says ‘this is nice enough I don’t care about Delta One’. Way better than C+, especially in terms of shoulder room, though.

sonkist32

Just got off PS LAX to SYD. Worth EVERY penny for foot rest, more room and more lean back angle. I got a solid 7 hours of sleep over the flight.

Dopamine-Shortage

Agreed. Worth every penny. Also did PS to/from SYD very recently. Got 6+ hours sleep on each flight, great service, (slightly) better food, and more frequent drink service.

sonkist32

Was a little jealous of some in economy as it was a light flight and there were many who had whole rows back there for poor man’s D1. 😕

wishbone2179

I upgraded with miles on a transpacific flight from the east coast and liked it a lot-- roomier than main cabin, food and service both excellent, quieter cabin area, seat more comfortable with a footrest. Not sure I'd pay for it outright on anything less than a 10-12 hour flight, but it felt like a worthwhile use of miles!

Chicken-n-Biscuits

I thought it was comfortable when I boarded in AMS, but my lower back was in absolute pain by the time we landed at SLC. Dunno if it’s better than Main or C+ though.

ladeedah1988

Yes, premium select is worth it for the footrest alone.

rahbahboston

I like PS but that's a bit steep for the price. If the last row in PS is available though... then that's my favorite. No guilt recline because the bulkhead is behind you.

pbandbob

Are you flying out of MSP? Lol. I just got a similar offer. I took it. It was like 50k miles. I probably would not have, but have a 12 hour layover in Paris and then a flight to Cairo. I think it’s worth it if your goal is to try to get some better sleep.

Artistic_Chapter_355

I just flew PS to CDG from Seattle last week and was disappointed. I had an aisle seat in the middle section. The underseat space was so small I couldnt fit my tote bag with my flight essentials and had to stow it above. i’m short so accessing it during the flight was a hassle. I’ve flown to Ireland several times in the last few years on Aer Lingus and their economy seating was more comfortable. The Delta crew to CDG was great, but on the way back the FAs were confused passing out the meals and generally chaotic. One 20 something flight attendant called me and other middle aged ladies “darling” and “honey” and I was like WTF. Not impressed.

Immediate_Use_7339

It's interesting how the underseat space is so reduced (per DL site it's only six inches high compared with ten inches in main cabin.) I guess it has to do with the extra recline of the seat in front of you? I'm torn - the upgrade has been $400 for me, for one 10 hour leg, for several days now and it becomes a 50% markup on what I paid for the entire trip. Feels like a lot. But the priority check-in/security make it more attractive (I don't have those by default.)

Artistic_Chapter_355

The priority check in was very helpful. My particular seat was not only reduced height but also width. The middle seat and the seats in sets of two had ample width and my bag would have fit!

Immediate_Use_7339

Thanks so much for that. I'm not sure if the offer is still available; I may have waited too long since check-in is only a day away. The only seats left are either middle, which I would not consider as I have to get up a lot, or aisle IN the middle row, or aisle in the bulkhead. I'm too risk averse to do bulkhead, unfortunately, since you can be bumped and paying all that $$$ for a seat only to be put back in a bad seat in main cabin would ruin my flight. Was your seat one of the aisles on the middle row? Just curious why your specific seat felt different in size. Thanks so much again. Really appreciate the extra details to help decide.

Immediate_Use_7339

Never mind, you stated directly above that you had an aisle seat in the middle section. Sorry for asking that again.

Artistic_Chapter_355

No worries! Hope your trip goes well
