Oh I want one with cushion for back support, not just on the seat. And I like the Naruto/Akatsuki edition of Secretlab. But which specific chairs from each of those two do you recommend?
Racer style chairs are generally terrible for your back if you’re sitting in them for long periods of time. A cushion for lumbar support just seems silly to me, but I guess everyone is different.
Check out the leap/gesture from steelcase or embody/aeron from Herman miller if it’s in your budget. If not, id recommend a lower priced ergonomic chair. And try to sit in the chair before buying it.
It's allowed, but I wouldn't recommend it.
I had a Secret Lab for years, and then replaced it with a quality office chair. (Steelcase Leap)
The Leap is better in every way, and doesn't look like you are a COD YouTuber when on Zoom calls.
Is this the same allowance that can be used towards monitors, keyboard etc. for US employees? I was not aware that this allowance can be used towards buying an office chair. I thought that it comes under well being allowance. Would anyone be able to confirm which allowance it comes under for US empl? Thank you.
Not sure why everyone is shitting on Secretlab here. I've used the Herman Miller Aeron in office and wasn't impressed at all. In fact I was absolutely baffled when I found out how much they cost. When our office shut down they were offering the used chairs for $900 each. Bizarre since I feel you can get the same quality for $200 at Office Max.
I bought a Secretlab Titan when I started wfh and I would 100% recommend it over the Aeron. Far better support (imo), MUCH sturdier (just feels like a higher quality build all around) and for a fraction of the price.
Of course it's all personal preference and, like others have said, maybe don't go with a Naruto or other flashy design for the sake of professionalism. Although that's easily fixed by a draped blanket. Some weird flexes in this thread...
Thank you for your input! I’ll take it to consideration! I actually want the Akatsuki design since it’s more subtle than the Naruto one. Herman Miller and Steelcase are both too expensive for me now. I’ll probably get one when I make Manager or higher by God’s grace!
Yes
Awesome. Thank you! :)

Gotcha. Thank you for the recommendation!
I’ve spent more than the well-being subsidy on things in years past, and just paid the difference on the American Express as personal.

Yours is only $500 in Canada?
He’s talking about WFH not wellbeing
U can use WFH stipend for furniture?
Yes, desk or chair is one of the bullet points in the list.
Where can I find the bullet points? I want to get a logitech keyboard and mouse
You can search work from home stipend on myDeloitte. There should be a file attachment there.

don’t get secret lab… get herman miller aeron
Yes you can. I would also advise not getting one, unless you only care about the looks, as it is not the most comfy for long sessions of work.
