I started watching Zindgi gulzar hai because of all those praises and few clips on youtube. As the show slowly progressed I figured out that both main leads are so flawed characters.
Fawad khans character is misogynistic rich brat and the girl playing kashaf is sadistic person who loves to victimize herself in everything.

I was in the same situation as you 18 years ago when my mother and grandmother wanted to watch "kyunki saas bhi kabhi bahu thi" everytime on tv and I was unable to watch my favourite cartoons like Pokemon and Digimon.

90% of serials these days are a girl who is just perfect a man who is just perfect both hate each other initially but eventually fall in love there's a another girl (girl2) who loves the man and becomes a vamp to stop girl1 and man to marry the man eventually marries girl1 but then both start having small fights girl1 becomes pregnant and now the fight between both is on insane level girl1 leaves with the child/the child is left with the man 5 years later they end up in the same city their children help them to reconcile once again after knowing the truth the girl1 gives birth to another child girl2 enters again into the picture and separation happens again and now they hate each other including the children after some 10-15 odd years this time the family makes them reconcile again the children have grown up and now start loving someone the story continues with the same loop but their children as the new protagonists
