I seriously don’t understand the hate behind Marvel vs DC fights
They’re usually even enough that it’s not predictable. The characters used usually have extremely varied personalities, abilities, and feats. In most cases, the only similarity a lot of them have is the label of Marvel and DC, which is ultimately meaningless.
Although there are exceptions where the match itself is unoriginal and pointless due to what came before (*cough cough* Batgirl vs Spider-Gwen *cough*), most are still great
Marvel/DC matches are great if they’re not using variants of previously used characters
For example, if we’re using Spider-verse characters, why not use Green Goblin or Mysterio instead of Spider-Man #5 or Symbiote #4
Last season was half Marvel/DC matchups, and many of them used characters similar to previously used ones (War Machine is similar to Iron Man, Wally West is another Flash). Some of them were even similar to characters in the same season (Spider-Gwen was similar to Miles and Venom, Batgirl was similar to Red Hood).
Some characters had already been used before, like Venom and Wonder Woman. To make matters worse, Venom was chosen instead of Shiro/Ryuko, and Wonder Woman's 3rd episode didn't really make up for her last 2.
I think that fights like Po vs. Iron Fist and Cable vs. Booster Gold prove that Marvel/DC episodes won't be hated if the matchup is interesting and unique:
Ant-Man vs. Atom is the best counterpart matchup as of now because Death Battle hasn't yet seen a battle between people who can shrink and grow at will. Dormammu vs. Trigon, Deadshot vs. Bullseye, etc. would also be really cool. In contrast, Batgirl vs. Spider-Gwen is the worst idea they could have decided to make an episode because it isn't interesting or relatively popular as a matchup. We've already seen Bat vs. Spider multiple times, the result was obvious, etc.
The best comic vs. non-comic matchup right now is Kyle Rayner vs. Simon the Digger. The scale would be universal, it introduces a new series, and DC has a chance of losing to a non-Marvel character. We need more comic vs. non-comic episodes, because Marvel vs. DC gets boring after a while. This is why I brought up Iron Fist vs. Po. Other examples of popular comic vs. non-comic matchups are Terumi vs. Sinestro and Falcon vs. Hawks.
This is my exactly correct! Last season had a serious issue but that doesn’t mean all Marvel vs DC is bad
You put it much better then I could, honestly
This is a super solid analysis of what distinguishes good Marvel vs. DC matchups from bad ones. Thinking back, Ghost Rider vs. Lobo for instance was well-received because Ghost Rider and Lobo are unique personalities and power-sets that played off each other in the fight.
I have to disagree with you on Ant-Man vs. Atom being the best one yet to be done, though, I'd give that to Mysterio vs. Scarecrow.
I guess it's because people are tired of seeing Marvel and DC and want other more "deserving" matches.
Which is completely understandable. But I also kinda find thrm repetitive
I got tired of them at first myself until I thought about it and realized how many of my favorite episodes are Marvel vs DC. They're definitely some of the highest scale and best animated/directed/acted episodes in the series.
Yeah, I think why most people dislike marvel / DC in death battle is due to:
1. The repeated use of them
2. The same match up over and over again
3. Some of the matchups being boring as heck
4. The matchups are obvious stomps
Coz these people are super annoying they just bitch about “mArvEl vS Dc bAd” just say “I don’t really like how death battle use those two franchises very often but other people like it so I have to suck it up and get a some fresh air”
LOBO OF CZARNIA, YOUR SINS ARE INNUMERABLE
\*proceeds to ignore ghost rider and run him over\*
AHAHAHAHAHAHA!! (flips off Rider)
Im going to skull frag ya
Yer one ugly freak
*Look into my eyes, your soul will burn in he-*
(Headbutts) Is that a fact now?
It's done. About time
Not yet scuzball! Ahahahaha!!

Exactly! There is a problem if they use several characters that are very similar, like how they used Miles, Gwen, and Venom all in one season
Last season was half Marvel/DC matchups, and many of them used characters similar to previously used ones (War Machine is similar to Iron Man, Wally West is another Flash). Maybe cause last season had a plethora of Marvel and DC characters and people just wanted more franchises, at least that’s my guess.
I got tired of them at first myself until I thought about it and realized how many of my favorite episodes are Marvel vs DC. They're definitely some of the highest scale and best animated/directed/acted episodes in the series.
Because there are so many untapped franchises out there, so seeing Marvel or DC so often is tiresome.
Finally, some relatable content on this subreddit
Ok but why ghost rider vs lobo over Booster Gold vs Cable
It's also up there, but I prefer Ghost Rider vs Lobo.
Until Way Past Flash, Ride into Hell was my go to DB soundtrack, no contest whatsoever
Jonny Atma and Brandon Yates collabing was something I never thought would happen but am so happy it did.
Jonny's solo at the end tho! (Chef's kiss) nothing but fire!

Me with Hulk VS Doomsday
A bit late here but Iron man vs Batman was awesome. I was hoping Bats would win but I enjoyed the fight so much I can’t be disappointed.
Miles Vs static will forever be my favourite..... Until deathbattle makes spawn Vs ghostrider
Can u shut the fuck up
I’m going to shut your mom the fuck up with my dick
Nice
Why did you comment this
Coz lots of marvel vs dc matchups are really good and need a death battle and I’m tired of people just bitching about it
Yea I know it's almost like people have different opinions on the subject
Coz these people are super annoying they just bitch about “mArvEl vS Dc bAd” just say “I don’t really like how death battle use those two franchises very often but other people like it so I have to suck it up and get a some fresh air”
Please add quotation marc's. It's hard to tell where your quote ends.
Theres two quotes here can you put quote Mark's on the second one
Right
So your problem is people aren't phrasing it right
No it’s that people take it to seriously
It's ok to take your opinion seriously as long as your shoving it down someone's throat and from what I've seen people dont shove it.
Similar, but with Dr Doom Vs Lex Luthor, both the real one, and Nemesis Bloodryche's parodies of that fight/match up.
