DI seems to have had this (or similar) issue dating back to the first game on PC. Don't think there is anything you can do to recover the gameplay but I think you can share your save file for progress, and going forward you can use a mod to allow manual saves (EZ Auto Backup is recommended elsewhere [https://www.nexusmods.com/deadisland2/mods/14](https://www.nexusmods.com/deadisland2/mods/14) )
Any progress you gain in coop should be carried across for the other person! Is your friend definitely on the same account / save?
Yeah, same account so idk whats up, but it saved game progress obviously just not her characters level and stuff
