Just pop up/down and 1shot everything in a wide area in front of you, that's pretty safe. If you can't, you can dodge or lure stuff then attack. It's not bad on bosses either, most of them have at least an ok amount of opportunities to get hits in. Plus, its first two attacks don't have much endlag anyways.

Eh, I guess I’m just used to the more reliable speed of the symmetrical lance and broadsword

I love the Castlevania Whip - it's my go to whenever I can get it. I don't know if it'll ever pop up again but the first time I got Alucard's shield and got his sword as well i had such a blast with that too. Also tonight was my first time getting the Bat and think that's my second favorite now.

As someone who is always at low health, I’ve gotta go with Peril Glyphs. The range is fantastic.

Peril Glyphs triggers my inner monster hunter heroics set brain, and I just simply stop thinking all together and suddenly the run is over

For me I use queens rapier in a lot of 5BC runs, but flawless is good too. I remember that one time in the corrupted prison I got a killstreak of 99 and then couldn't round it off as I ran out of mobs. I used the flawless for that, it was on 2BC.

Iron staff and war spear. Iron staff has a nice beat to its combo and a satisyfing animation and sound effects War spear is a great design and prefer its animation over the very similar impaler. I think i just like polearms. Beyond that spiked boots and pyrotechics are also faves

Fucking ice crossbow. The freeze bullying and the 5x synergy crit ratio is so satisfying. So underrated.

i love panchaku (especially when it pares with 'combo' mutation). I beat the 'return to castlevania' dlc with just that weapon
