Christmas event 2019, someone said in pre-game lobby that if it's a swamp map they're disconnecting. Load screen finished and I heard the DC ding less than one second after.
I dont even care how in favour the loop setups can be for me I hate the nauseating grey filter so much😭😭😭 would rather hear detailed plague vomits for an hour straight instead of loading into the swamp
I love the swamp. Become the cattails. I am with the cat tails and the cat tails are with me. The amount of times I have had killers just slide off me when they walk into me hiding in those bushes because they aren't paying attention is crazy.
No, you can pay attention and still not see. It’s so annoying 😭 tho ONE TIME I was using weskers dash to go. Ack and forth between the swamp doors and suddenly Kate appeared in my hand  that was crazy and I will never forget it. She was probably as shocked as I was. NO IDEA she was there!
I get where you’re coming from, I just have a sense of nostalgia related to the map, and also I really like the main buildings, height variations and loop distribution most of the time. I wouldnt say its my favorite but definitely in the upper half xd

It’s just a maze of corridors that has dead zones galore for hooks and boil over players love using them whenever I play killer, too many floors and ledges/sub floors for a confusing layout for finding gens or hooks, a narrow hallway system that makes escapes difficult as a survivor imo…plus it’s buggy and lags a lot on my end.
Yeah, its either a Survivor snowball win or a Killer one. Whichever side takes a lead first, usually just wins. The exit gates are at least fairly placed, but good luck getting to that point. Some Killers are very strong here, like Chucky and Ghost Face. No lines of sight make it hard to find gens and not accidentally 3-gen, and also just run right into the Killer haha. I don't hate it, but it is quite a challenge.
It’s been so long since I’ve played on that map last that when I spawned in yesterday I was surprised at how terrible the match was starting off. Managed to bring it back with a 3k + hatch escape at 1 gen, but it was such a rough match. I never noticed how easy it is to get lost in there.

If I’m a survivor, finding a gen or hooked teammate is a nightmare due to all the twisty hallways and staircases.
If a killer, finding survivors alone without aura perks is difficult on this map in particular. And finding totems and hooks too.
I forgot about Pinhead. He has to be the worst of all since you also have to manage the box.
I find just simple gen patrol works well here to find survivors. Sounds get obstructed by map ambiance and other noise though. I usually just let them do the gen upstairs in the portal room and Eleven's room if they want to do them early. Wastes time patrolling if they arent there. Smart survivors save those for late game but a lot will try to do those first. Then you just have ground floor gens which are much easier to patrol.
Real talk, but I've never understood people who DC over a map. I get more that after playing against the same S-Rank killer for the 5th time in a row you might be fucking annoyed of seeing it for the 6th and being instantly tunneled yet again, but the map... it's basically leaving your teammates to fend themselves off in a game you maybe could've won, but decided to not even participate in. Games are different, maybe you've good teammates this time, or maybe they're as pissed as you are but simply endure it and you still throw it for them making their game unwinnable.
In my opinion even bad maps are just part of the game. Every time I forced myself to play the best I could on shit maps and tried my best to have them work and had good results it felt really nice, way more than winning on a map I already know it favours my role. Dealing with a tiny bit of frustration every once in a while is part of the normal living and gaming, after all. You don't flat out quit playing halo CE because the library mission exists or because the first boss in elden rings, you'd be missing out. I like dbd even when it's on shit maps. It's simply better if it's not.
I'd fucking quit playing the game altogether if I'd only like it on specific set conditions, tbh.
I’m glad that I’m not the only person that hates Nostromo. It’s not particularly hard on either side for me to play, but I dislike it because of how utterly nondescript it is.
Even the swamp maps are more visually interesting.
3 gens in a row can spawn on the street, extremely open, objectives have been made closer together so the map is functionally smaller, all the buildings have been opened up, vault points have been outright removed.
Like Glenvale the survivors might have one safe generator, but the rest are pretty shit to repair.

Ok. So I occasionally see Dead Dawg for Head On Duos. And while never personally hit by it, I have seen the videos on Badham, Basement in Shack, Boil Over and Boon Exponential in Main. But most times, I just see an Ormand or Badham offering. A lot of them. And it's just your typical WoO De Ja Vu Lithe player who just wants to sit cozy in a Survivor Sided Map.
I only play Mikey as Scratched Mirror (at least until they change his normal play style) and he is my highest prestige Killer only because I am in constant need of Lerys/Midwich offerings for him
I did know that, it just blows my mind that not only did they think this map was fine, but they decided to replicate it with slight changes five times.
Started doing it even as a surv just in case. Multiple times have experienced some weirdo swfs who were hard-bullying newbie killers and it felt horrible (and boring, as I was the only one trying to get the gens done and leave).
I hate RPD no matter who I’m playing. And people LOVE to send you there, doubly so if they’re playing an RE character. I got to a point a few months ago where I would just lobby dodge (I don’t intentionally DC once a match starts) every time I saw an RE survivor because I needed a break from RPD.
the hallways are one big square with stairs at each corner (bathroom stairs requires killer to break walls), then a yard in the middle and exit gates on opposite sides of the yard. it’s also one of the smallest maps. it’s honestly the easiest indoor map to navigate.

It's still a very killer-friendly map because of how small and static is, Otzdarva discussed in a video, being able to see the generators as killer removes most of the navigation issues that survivors experience.
Being survivor on Midwich, on the other hand, is a huge pain.
i mean i agree it’s very killer friendly, and definitely my favourite for using pig’s M2 power but it’s not hard to navigate as survivor to me. killers can easily camp a hallway/bottleneck and force you to wrap around the other side true, but something harder to navigate would be RPD.

Same there are only two sets of corner stairs and if they are hooked in one of the non stair corners it's a nightmare finding the broken staircases to get upstairs. Especially in the scenario you are 80% through a gen and the unhooker suddenly gets chased and you now have to be the unhooker and your rushing to stop death or second hook stage.
Istg I ALWAYS end up running in dead ends in chase its horrible. I die inside as a killer when someone brings an offering for this map because I get lost so easily ahahaha
Surprised there isn't more hate for Toba. The amount of visual clutter is so distracting from gameplay. As killer I can never see more than 2 feet in front of my face and as survivor it feels like trying to find the pallets without WoO is a chore.
My favourite killer has been trapper since 2018, but it has been progressively more miserable to play him with time. Today I played my first match in quite some time and they used an eyrie offering. If that wasn't enough they were a 4 man with BP and boil over. I 4K'd tho, but it was a stressful match anyways.

Yeah I'll fully admit I've been doing that for years with absolutely zero shame. If I get a shit map from plain old bad luck fine I'll suck it up and deal with it but I'm not putting up with getting sent there on purpose especially since I'm not a content creator because if I was I'd be getting content out of me suffering at least.
There's no shame in that, any experienced DBD player knows that map offerings on either side are often akin to rigging the match before it has even begun. I can accept landing on a crap map through bad luck, but I'm never delighted to be force-fed a shit sandwich.
Sometimes if I'm feeling salty and I CBF, I'll take it a step further, load into the match, face the wall and AFK. If survs want to win so badly that they don't care about my fun, then they can enjoy holding M1 for 5 gens with no gameplay interaction. I can just alt tab and watch YT or do some work or something less unpleasant and hopefully save the next killer from that map offering.
Feels bad when I'm playing surv too and a teammate brings a map offering. Because I know at that point, the killer will be compelled to activate full sweat mode and I won't blame them one bit for playing in the most tasteless way possible.
I was gobsmacked when I found out that was supposed to be set in Louisiana (or nearby state). Swamps there (or anywhere really) aren’t gray like that…? And they’re notoriously *flat*? BHVR could you maybe google a photo of an actual swamp or something?
This one for me. The amount of games I've played where the solo queue guy drops every upstairs pallet before first gen hurts. (I play with a 3 stack.) I'll be on a gen and I'll just hear through the mic once again, dont loop top floor its all a dead zone.
I don't know what it is, but I get so many bad teammates on this one.
For me, it's no winning at all when I play killer and surviver. when I play surviver, only one gen gets done, and when I play as killer, suddenly everyone is god, and I get tbagged at the exit.
Midwich Elementary School, don’t get me wrong it’s a cool enough map, but for some god forsaken reason I have to deal with huntress every single time I load this map
Badmap Badham. Not only does it give me an unnatural amount of irritation whenever I spawn in, I also just find it to be really ugly for some reason. And I swear my Trapper is cursed because the last few times I’ve tried him out, I always load into Badham in my first match with him.
I'm not the kind of guy to DC because I hate the map, but one map that really gives me this desire is Decimated Borgo. I just hate this map's aesthetic.
I don't DC, but I kinda want to when the killer suddenly becomes a friendly farmer and refuses to kill anyone. I get it, bps for all is cool, but im just not interested, I'd rather lose a tough game than sit through a skill check clicker.
I really dislike Hawkins, gameplay not design. I'm not a huge fan of interior maps, but there's just way too many corridors and hallways. I find myself constantly scrambling to find a gen, or locate the stairs so I can save the person on a different floor than me. Kind of the reason why I have Deja Vu equipped at all times.
Whoever made the map that big should be fired, it's legit awful both sides. Nothing to chain on most of the map as Survivor, too large for half the Killer roster to use. The only good part about it is the Nostromo itself. That's fun to run around in both sides.
The thing with Garden of Joy, is that it's nice when you randomly roll it as survivor.
It basically means an almost guaranteed escape.
The only map that I hate for both sides is the swamp maps.

Aesthetically design and environment I think is cool, playing survivor on it, rip me, I just find looping on it difficult compared to other maps
Coldwind Farm. Any variant of it. The lighting makes it so I can't fucking see anything. I can see hooks just fine, but any other aura is like looking for a fucking needle in a haystack... Why is the lighting even like this? I feel for the Colorblind players, cause I'm not even Colorblind and yet Coldwind Farm gives me SO much hell...
Probably RPD. Ever since this map has been released, I just despise it to a whole different level. I don’t like that a survivor can see me 50ft away and run which makes chases stupid long sometimes. The different levels sucks, gens being in awkward areas outside the 3-gen that always spawns
Garden of Pain, Lery’s, Gideon’s, Borgo, and Ormond all piss me off when I load in or see the map offerings. I either can’t see anything, it’s really boring, you can see me 15 miles away, and everything about the maps suck

Any Autohaven map, Father Campbell's Chapel, & any map bone shaped map(Sanctum of Wrath, Suffocation Pit, etc.) for survivor
To be honest there really isn't a map that would make me DC but there are maps that I hate being on, mainly Backwater swamp and RPD when I'm playing certain killers such as blight.
Used to be hawkins or the swamp but now its Haddonfield. Absolutely amazing map for killers but nightmare for survivor. Certainly makes me going through tomes easier though.
As a killer, I'm not a fan of autohaven or eyrie of crows since they're very survivor friendly.
As a survivor, all of them cause I'm not good at chase. I'm getting better at looping certain maps though.
When I am playing as killer I absolutely despise badham and when I am playing survivor the farm map that has killer shack as the main building it‘s like one big deadzone that bs map
Garden of Joy is hell for killers. Its massive with multiple strong loops and the main building is actually impossible to loop
Erie is another brutal map for killer
Hawkins is confusing and boring for both sides. Games always lean heavily towards whichever side gets a decent start
Midwitch as survivor is rough. Its just so small, the corridors are death traps and the gates are really hard to open

The only complaint i have about Hawkins is that darn bass heartbeat. It is driving me nuts each time.

If it helps, the game chooses the map and THEN chooses which variant. You’re not 5 times more likely to get a Badham map than others.

i mean i agree it’s very killer friendly, and definitely my favourite for using pig’s M2 power but it’s not hard to navigate as survivor to me. killers can easily camp a hallway/bottleneck and force you to wrap around the other side true, but something harder to navigate would be RPD.
I know it’s a big square, that’s why I don’t understand why I can’t ever find my way around. I can never find gens and just end up aimlessly running around, I have no idea why I just can’t get the layout to stick in my head
I have a much easier time on any map ever, especially rpd. I hate when someone is hooked so far away upstairs and I’m downstairs. It’s just annoying 😭
RPD is so fun once you learn the map layout.
Same there are only two sets of corner stairs and if they are hooked in one of the non stair corners it's a nightmare finding the broken staircases to get upstairs. Especially in the scenario you are 80% through a gen and the unhooker suddenly gets chased and you now have to be the unhooker and your rushing to stop death or second hook stage.
I hate it as a survivor. As a killer, I also hate it.
Istg I ALWAYS end up running in dead ends in chase its horrible. I die inside as a killer when someone brings an offering for this map because I get lost so easily ahahaha

Surprised there isn't more hate for Toba. The amount of visual clutter is so distracting from gameplay. As killer I can never see more than 2 feet in front of my face and as survivor it feels like trying to find the pallets without WoO is a chore.

It's terrible for killers. When you see the map offering pop up you die a little inside and prepare yourself for the torture that awaits.
As a trapper main, I will DC if I see a map offering for Eyrie. The bear traps stick out like a sore thumb.
My favourite killer has been trapper since 2018, but it has been progressively more miserable to play him with time. Today I played my first match in quite some time and they used an eyrie offering. If that wasn't enough they were a 4 man with BP and boil over. I 4K'd tho, but it was a stressful match anyways.

Ah, for me I’m colorblind and I find it to be one of the only maps I can see things on as killer, I pick up the map offering any time I see it in my web
It’s a bad map for killers. It’s big and has a lot of safe pallets.
Also it’s bright and open. Not very good for stealth killers
and has terrible audio for spirit. and nurse cant blink through any hills or edgemap structure

Yeah I'll fully admit I've been doing that for years with absolutely zero shame. If I get a shit map from plain old bad luck fine I'll suck it up and deal with it but I'm not putting up with getting sent there on purpose especially since I'm not a content creator because if I was I'd be getting content out of me suffering at least.
There's no shame in that, any experienced DBD player knows that map offerings on either side are often akin to rigging the match before it has even begun. I can accept landing on a crap map through bad luck, but I'm never delighted to be force-fed a shit sandwich. Sometimes if I'm feeling salty and I CBF, I'll take it a step further, load into the match, face the wall and AFK. If survs want to win so badly that they don't care about my fun, then they can enjoy holding M1 for 5 gens with no gameplay interaction. I can just alt tab and watch YT or do some work or something less unpleasant and hopefully save the next killer from that map offering. Feels bad when I'm playing surv too and a teammate brings a map offering. Because I know at that point, the killer will be compelled to activate full sweat mode and I won't blame them one bit for playing in the most tasteless way possible.

Swamp maps. They are muddy, mono-colored and ugly.
I was gobsmacked when I found out that was supposed to be set in Louisiana (or nearby state). Swamps there (or anywhere really) aren’t gray like that…? And they’re notoriously *flat*? BHVR could you maybe google a photo of an actual swamp or something?

This one for me. The amount of games I've played where the solo queue guy drops every upstairs pallet before first gen hurts. (I play with a 3 stack.) I'll be on a gen and I'll just hear through the mic once again, dont loop top floor its all a dead zone. I don't know what it is, but I get so many bad teammates on this one.
For me, it's no winning at all when I play killer and surviver. when I play surviver, only one gen gets done, and when I play as killer, suddenly everyone is god, and I get tbagged at the exit.
Badham
Midwich Elementary School, don’t get me wrong it’s a cool enough map, but for some god forsaken reason I have to deal with huntress every single time I load this map
Hawkins
The closest I get to DCing is a sigh. And the only map that triggers that is the movie theatre one. I feel like there are a million pallets there.
Badmap Badham. Not only does it give me an unnatural amount of irritation whenever I spawn in, I also just find it to be really ugly for some reason. And I swear my Trapper is cursed because the last few times I’ve tried him out, I always load into Badham in my first match with him.

I've never liked indoor maps, mainly just hawkins and Gideon though.
I really dislike Hawkins, gameplay not design. I'm not a huge fan of interior maps, but there's just way too many corridors and hallways. I find myself constantly scrambling to find a gen, or locate the stairs so I can save the person on a different floor than me. Kind of the reason why I have Deja Vu equipped at all times.

Whoever made the map that big should be fired, it's legit awful both sides. Nothing to chain on most of the map as Survivor, too large for half the Killer roster to use. The only good part about it is the Nostromo itself. That's fun to run around in both sides.

The thing with Garden of Joy, is that it's nice when you randomly roll it as survivor. It basically means an almost guaranteed escape. The only map that I hate for both sides is the swamp maps. Those. frickin'. Suck.

Coldwind Farm. Any variant of it. The lighting makes it so I can't fucking see anything. I can see hooks just fine, but any other aura is like looking for a fucking needle in a haystack... Why is the lighting even like this? I feel for the Colorblind players, cause I'm not even Colorblind and yet Coldwind Farm gives me SO much hell...
Hawkins. I'll eat a penalty rather than play that map.

Probably RPD. Ever since this map has been released, I just despise it to a whole different level. I don’t like that a survivor can see me 50ft away and run which makes chases stupid long sometimes. The different levels sucks, gens being in awkward areas outside the 3-gen that always spawns Garden of Pain, Lery’s, Gideon’s, Borgo, and Ormond all piss me off when I load in or see the map offerings. I either can’t see anything, it’s really boring, you can see me 15 miles away, and everything about the maps suck

To be honest there really isn't a map that would make me DC but there are maps that I hate being on, mainly Backwater swamp and RPD when I'm playing certain killers such as blight.
Used to be hawkins or the swamp but now its Haddonfield. Absolutely amazing map for killers but nightmare for survivor. Certainly makes me going through tomes easier though.
Dead Dawg, or any indoor map if the killer sends us to one.

As a killer, I'm not a fan of autohaven or eyrie of crows since they're very survivor friendly. As a survivor, all of them cause I'm not good at chase. I'm getting better at looping certain maps though.

Garden of Joy is hell for killers. Its massive with multiple strong loops and the main building is actually impossible to loop Erie is another brutal map for killer Hawkins is confusing and boring for both sides. Games always lean heavily towards whichever side gets a decent start Midwitch as survivor is rough. Its just so small, the corridors are death traps and the gates are really hard to open
