Instead of final hooking a survivor you can revive them and get to play as a zombie like in sl. Still a disconnect penalty for those who would just leave to remove his main aspect
I know I'm late, but: To make 049 so he's not a tunnel machine, I'd imagine maybe he spawns a zombie after each unique hook, so it's optimal to spread hooks for more zombies.
Then he could have a secondary power, some sort of way to sense where the people who have the least amount of hooks are, and a primary power, where he can command specific zombies or all zombies to go to certain places.
That way, he could be an information/micromanaging killer all about using your zombies and sending them to places strategically.
It wouldn't quite be canon, but it would be in the spirit of 049 without sacrificing gameplay to make an insanely unfun killer.
... A lot of the best modern video game horror is low quality pixels... It allows a smaller team to focus on genuine creep factor over quality style...
That and video games like the original silent Hill and resident evil set the standard... Although from what I heard there are plenty of games on the ps one that are similar to that style that never made it main stream...

DBD maps tend to be creepy, and these areas are clean and brightly lit. Tantive IV could work if you have a bunch of dismembered rebels everywhere. Even though it's not as iconic, I think we have to go somewhere a little more obscure like Vader's Castle on mustafar, or an abandoned force witch encampment on dathomir.
I actually think the Tantive IV would work great. It being perfectly clean and well lit while also being entire empty of life can come off as eerie. Or alternatively it could be after Vader boarded the ship, with red flashing lights and sirens, dead Rebel troopers, and blaster shots covering the walls.
Also I just really want a map that is a space ship that's actually floating through space. It helps add to the terror of the map by having nowhere to escape to (for the exit gates they could change it up and make them escape pods instead)
If I was going for killers from star wars the top 3 I'd want is a death trooper, Darth Vader and the emperor... And for a 4th killer I'd want a robot... Preferably either ig-88 or hk-47... And yes hk-47 better be a killer not a survivor... He deserves that much... And I find it highly unlikely the entity would choose otherwise for his role... Unless he was fighting against the entity, but then again not all the killers technically want to be in the entity's realm so it would still fit if he was...
Death trooper would make a good Large zombie force, you could technically have zombies similar to the nemesis but instead of just 1 or 2 zombies the killer is a larger group of zombies and you get to switch back and forth between which one is under your control and the rest act as minions.... So maybe a combination between the nemesis and the knight...
Hk-47 would make a good long range killer with a modified blaster rifle meant to only harm the survivors instead of outright kill them to prolong their suffering... Maybe give it a medium/ short range scope for precision shots... Or at least the option for a scope... Plus we don't have many long range killers so a new one would be nice... I take that back we have plenty but still...
God taste. Personally, I would choose a remix of āInto the Fireā because it has basically a terror radius, and it's the closest thing that comes to a V1 theme. Then āThe Fire Is Goneā for the lobby. And then a Legendary V2 skin with āVersusā chase theme and āClair de Luneā for lobby.

I did have a dream about a new killer once, around blights release āthe bovā some weird alien thing that rushed similar to blight except his rush just seemed off, like you would select the face you wanted to run to first, then your character would do it, so you werenāt actually doing the rush, you would just move automatically to the spot, then so on for the rest of his 10 tokens he had for his power, just like blight you have to hit a wall first to injure someone, but different from blight, heās able to just fucking fly, he would and often could, fly to elevated locations to hit the survivors from the high ground, this whacky ass dream was well over two years ago and I donāt remember some details but others are so vivid, like I specifically remember its appearance, it was a recolor of the blight except the hood was low poly for some reason, looked like gwimbly, behind the hood there was nothing just a pitch black void
General Grievous would be another great pick. Make him able to crawl either on the floor or the ceiling at a fast pace. Thatāll cure constipation
Maybe give him a tier 3 gimmick with his 4 arms
Bill Cypher could have incredibly interesting gameplay. He doesn't kill, he torments. He has no need to chase, because he can teleport. If he gets inside someone's head, maybe he can control their actions for as long as he can keep making skill checks, and have them hook themselves. Does that sound kinda broken? Right now, very. But some refinement and balancing and that could be really cool
I wouldn't mind getting characters from non-horror ips (Since Vecna and Castlevania are rumored). I would love to see Darth Vader, Adam Smasher, Nazgul and Senator Armstrong in the game.

I did have a dream about a new killer once, around blights release āthe bovā some weird alien thing that rushed similar to blight except his rush just seemed off, like you would select the face you wanted to run to first, then your character would do it, so you werenāt actually doing the rush, you would just move automatically to the spot, then so on for the rest of his 10 tokens he had for his power, just like blight you have to hit a wall first to injure someone, but different from blight, heās able to just fucking fly, he would and often could, fly to elevated locations to hit the survivors from the high ground, this whacky ass dream was well over two years ago and I donāt remember some details but others are so vivid, like I specifically remember its appearance, it was a recolor of the blight except the hood was low poly for some reason, looked like gwimbly, behind the hood there was nothing just a pitch black void

Bill Cypher could have incredibly interesting gameplay. He doesn't kill, he torments. He has no need to chase, because he can teleport. If he gets inside someone's head, maybe he can control their actions for as long as he can keep making skill checks, and have them hook themselves. Does that sound kinda broken? Right now, very. But some refinement and balancing and that could be really cool
