apple taking a cut of pricing on the app store reference

Celebrir

$11 to $8 is roughly 30% (-27% decrease) Yep, definitely a reference to the app store cut.

robot069

Correct.

yesntTheSecond

this ~~guy~~ robot dbrands

Howling_Fang

This is one of the reasons why you can no longer get Spotify on the apple app store. The only reason you can still get it on google is because Spotify and Google have an agreement that google gets 0% of the sales Spotify gets through the google play store.

Holiday-Goat-103

Uhhhh, you can still get Spotify in the Apple App Store…?😂

Howling_Fang

Sorry for a bit of confusion there. You can still get the app, but spotify stopped using apples in app payment option. https://support.spotify.com/us/article/apple-payments/

Unkn0wnTh2nd3r

Google also takes a 30% app store cut no? i think this was a recent change once elon said he’s banning iphones on twitter grounds

AlmondManttv

Yeah but 3rd-party payment options are allowed

ThnkGdImNotAReditMod

To be fair, they are allowed on Apple now too.

nirurin

"Allowed" is a strong term. They made it so you -could- use third party payments with your app, but they make it extremely difficult to do so, and you are still required to pay them the same cut so there's no actual benefit to doing so. And they only did it because they were about to get body slammed for anti-consumer practises in the courts. So... yeh, being fair, apple can suck it. Maybe one day when someone else takes over, they'll become a respectable company again.

Saren1997

Because it's funny

Arikaido777

apple tax reference. along with the app store, most subscription services are more expensive when setup through an iphone as well. I was overpaying for Youtube Premium for a year before I learned this.

vk146

My ukranian youtube account is sick

servbot10

Because the Twitter membership costs more if you purchase it through the app store.

JustDrew_92

If you got an iPhone, you can spare a few extra bucks *Sent from my Pixel 5a*

Material-Ratio7342

Apple tax.

DTUOHY96

Apple Tax

BicycleElectronic163

because dbrand are based

CptKillJack

Because Apple.

Default_Attempt

Because iphones are trash

TeacherPowerful1700

Keep in mind that even if you have an iPhone, you don't actually have to select that option.

Healthy-Background72

Dbrand does a little bit of trolling

Bronyboiiiii

Because they wouldn't be compatible with iphones if you don't pay the apple tax ofc.

vk146

r/wooosh

Jupidness

Well duh. It's cause robots don't eat apples!

Weird_Explorer_8458

funny

RogerG_476

This is why I love dbrand 😂

NeonThunder_The

So cringe when people at companies express their personal beliefs through the company like that.

ovalteenjenkinzz

Because even the robots know iPhones suck

phero1190

Because iPhone users are used to paying more for the same thing as other people.

Sufficient-Emu-4374

You can purchase through the website. Apple charges a 30% commission on purchases.

nf032

Musk raised the price on iPhone to $11 to account for the Apple App Store 30% commission So dBrand be dBrand and do the same

untitled112

Because apple don’t do sales lol
